Avowed has a delay because of the busy schedule. The game is apparently in great shape.

Games are taking longer and longer to make
Playground are also working on Fable - albeit that doesn't mean they can't have 2 projects running but having to ramp up staffing levels to do so can take time for people to learn intricacies of the engine as well as the general shift from open world racing games to RPG
Staff turnover since FH5 - Some senior members of the FH team have left Playground since FH5's release including the creative director and producer. Whilst this isn't anything wildly unusual, i think the staffing changes along with working on Fable and generally longer dev cycles means i can see FH6 being a few years away yet
