Using Mods

There are mods in game that let you use chat commands to reach max level, turn your self invincible and summon any entity you want. Meaning you can get through these achievements pretty quickly.

Would this count against the TA cheating policy or does it count as console commands like the Doom and ARK games?

As far as I’m aware this would be like console commands

It might be? It's just the usual enter key on keyboard

TBH before doing this. You might want to check with the investigation team first.

I haven't done anything yet, but the cheat policy (Cheat Policy) states they allow "Downloading user-generated content via an in-game browser or mod store built into the game." so I would assume anyone who wanted to go ahead with it would be fine.

Maybe we can ask a mod to move this to Investigations Questions Forum?

The issue is the console version doesn’t allow a mod store or browser

There’s a windows version stack too so thankfully wouldn’t effect console users ? Looks like a fun game hopefully not a 1000 hour completion though

Oh I’m confused to as what he meant then and no one tracked has unlocked achievements ? Maybe there’s like a sandbox mode that disables achievements no idea not played the game yet looks fun though but away from home

First: this would have gone into the Core Keeper (Windows) forum but it wasn't there when I first posted.

Second: the mod I was talking about isn't compatible with the current version of the game on game pass and would need to be updated.

I couldn't check out any other mod as Core Keeper broke and refused to launch all day yesterday

I installed a couple mods and it broke the game completely for me, so it probably needs some updates before it starts working again. I can’t be assed to install them one at time and check to make sure it launches, my PC sucks.

    If you're worried regarding mods.

    - Is the mod page part of the game? Is it inbuilt into it?
    - Do you have access to mods/dev mode/console without having to modify files from outside the game?
    - Can someone bad at electronics and computers easily access it?
    - Does it automatically unlock multiple achievements once used?

Basically, if any of the first three are no, or the last one is yes. I'd advise to avoid it and request confirmation from the investigations team via the forum.

    Top of page:
Community --> All Forums --> Investigations Questions

From the looks of the pc version, it should be okay, but I was not able to access past the mod page due to it crashing on my pc for some reason.
