If I start a game that’s 100 hours, it’s going to take me 6 months to complete it. I’m not interested in that. And I don’t want to be following a bloody walkthrough either. I just want to enjoy the damn game, knowing that when I complete it, it’s likely I’ll have most of the achievements, without having to replay it 3 times, or worry about missing collectables.
The quick completions are dirty and lack any satisfaction. The opposite end of the scale is not practical. It seems there’s a huge gap in between which no one caters for.
Maybe I’m missing something 🤷🏻♂️
Depends what your taste is, but there are plenty of indies that fit this bill, albeit not always the shiniest and some genres are less well represented. I find it useful to filter the sales by 4 stars and above and see what's in there. Even ones with collectables, if they're in the 20-hour window on TA, I can usually go through the story in 10-15 hours and then just use a WT for the mop-up.
