12 Days of Christmas 2024 FAQ

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge 2024! Close out the year with our most popular community event.

Every day from December 1st to December 12th we will reveal a new challenge. Each must be completed in order if you intend to complete the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge. You have the entire month of December to complete this. Non-qualifying achievements (meaning ones that don't progress your currently active challenge) do not impact the event. Feel free to continue on in whatever other events you may be participating in without worry.

Registration is open now, is free, and anyone that completes all twelve challenges by the end of December will receive a new Community Challenge Badge (or an upgrade on the color of their existing one). If you haven't yet registered, feel free to do so here: Twelve Days of Christmas 2024

When does the event run?
Start: December 1st at 10am UTC
End: January 1st at 10am UTC
Mind you, time is kept as UTC so adjust for your time zone where appropriate!

When is each challenge revealed?
For 12 days starting December 1st, a new challenge will be opened at 10am UTC every day

How do I complete challenges?
Earn achievements that meet our challenge crtieria. Challenges must be completed in order. You cannot complete challenge 5 before challenge 1, even if you earn achievements that are valid for challenge 5!

Do all achievements I earn count towards a challenge?
Only achievements with timestamps that are scanned into TrueAchievements during the event will be valid. Please be aware that using Backwards Compatibility may result in a disconnection from the Xbox 360 service even if still connected to Xbox LIVE. Its suggested that you start a party even if you don't use a mic specifically for the notification it gives when the party chat is disconnected.

Do achievements in apps count?
Achievements in apps will not count towards challenges.

Do Xbox challenges count?
Unlocking Xbox Challenges will not count towards your active 12 days challenge. There are very few these days at any rate as it seems they are being phased out.

What happens if I unlock achievements that don't count towards the challenge?
There is no penalty for unlocking achievements that do not count towards your active challenge while working on your challenge.

How do I find valid achievements?
You will find a button below your active challenge on your homepage to go to a list of valid achievements for that challenge in games you've already started. You will also find a button on the hub to go to a list of all valid achievements in all games.
