I disagree in the strongest possible terms with splitting American McGee's Alice from the original game. Besides the fact that it contains part of the original 1k in the game (which I agree is not controlling), the "DLC" is included in new copies of the game. It is only an additional purchase for used purchasers.

If we are going to include achievements in games such as NHL 11 , Fight Night Champion , Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters , FIFA 11 , and every other game with an Online Pass, then this is creating an exception to the established rule.

Games with included content that do not require additional purchases should not be considered as having DLC, unless that goes above and beyond what is included.

Edit: Based on the Extra Content Required flag, which specifically excludes DLC, the Online Pass is described as one of the criteria for that flag. The Alice content is actually referred to as an Online Pass by EA on the insert in the box. Obviously the achievements already have that flag, but these are analogous to the Online Pass content in other EA games.

This is an established rule for games such as https://www.trueachievements.com/Mass-Effect-2-xbox-360.htm and https://www.trueachievements.com/Dragon-Age-Origins-xbo....htm. The fact that it puts the Alice disc below an "original" 1k isn't relevant, because you know, MS just makes up its GS "rules" as it goes along.

Online pass games all give you a 2-7 day free trial, allowing you to earn the achievements without spending anything if you bought it used or rented. You just have to do it quickly.

I would argue that some of the sports games can't be done quick enough before the Pass expires. If we're going to be consistent, add the EA Sports games to the list.

Yeah Alice shouldnt have seperated achievements. Like Sasha said, its treated as an online pass. In Mass Effect and Dragon Age they bundled new copied of the game with a code to download DLC. It wasnt treated as an online pass.
