Do yourself a favour - get a Nokia. Avoid anything else as m$ don't give a fuck about supporting their own platform.

(those are words I never thought I'd say. (the Nokia bit, not m$ not giving a fuck laugh)

Nokia exclusivity only lasts for six months for each Windows Phone title that has been specifically released for Nokia devices. Following that six month period, other Windows Phone 8 users should expect the ability to purchase those previously exclusive titles.

Before you buy WP8 phone, remember one thing.

Microsoft have already announced when they the software releases for WP8 i stopping.

    http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/news/a466491/windows-phone-...

With the short lifes of WP7, 8 9 next time.. I dont want to buy anymore WP Phones.
Atleast Android devices is supported for many years, and one of the reasons why its #1

Windows Phone will never gain market share with its short life.

As someone already said, all Nokia exclusives are released on the Win8 phones after 6 months. The Nokia phone is also not powerful enough to support some of the bigger WP8 titles.

Also, £5.49 may seem steep - but this game and the Spiderman one are not too far off of retail games in the way of gameplay (graphics are another issue, lol!). You're 100% getting your money's worth.

Plus, they'll no doubt go on sale in future. wink

At least half of gamelofts titles have unobtainable achievements and cannot be completed(Spiderman, real soccer/football, real soccer/football 2013, lets golf, brain challenge) to name a few off the top of my head. Will wait to spend $7 on dark knight to see if it can be completed.

    wink
First point - there's nothing to stop m$ (or htc etc) from doing their own timed "exclusives". The fact that they don't shows how much they really think about the platform.

Second point - there are PLENTY of iOS/Android games that are "retail quality". They don't sell them for £5.49 on their respective appstores.

    It's not like that ..
WP8 will be supported for 18 months ..
When WP8.5 comes the new cycle of 18 months will start .. Same with WP9
Windows Phone account confirmed on Twitter that WP8 phones will get WP9 as both have the same Win NT kernel

So yeah, there's a game released this week that's the maximum price for a WP game, but there's also a game at the lowest price point (ignoring free) being released as well. So it's not as if budget games have been thrown to the wayside or anything.
Gamers have only two hobbies: playing games, and complaining about those games.

Android, on a Samsung Galaxy S4 for me next - after such a lack of support for WP7 (post WP8), Microsoft and their Windows Phones can kiss my swingers!

Well, if we're playing that game, it's "only" £4.99 on iOS.

Anyhoo, I bet it'll be cheaper more quickly on both of those platforms.

Those dates only apply to certain versions.
eg. Phones that have the portico update that don't get updated again will stop being supported. Further updates will mean longer support.
