Watch 4 Zune Videos From LIVE And Get 1 Ticket

  • Posted on 26 May 10 at 22:15
The Xbox LIVE Red Carpet Rewards Program was launched on May 18th and I, probably like most of you, missed out on this because I only use LIVE for playing games. From May 18th until June 14th, if you rent or buy 4 videos from the Zune Video Marketplace then Microsoft will send you a coupon for one free movie theater ticket.

Here's the info direct from Microsoft:

Your ticket to more entertainment from Xbox LIVE is here! From May 18 - June 14, receive a FREE movie ticket for every four movies you rent or buy from Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox LIVE. Yep, that's right, one FREE movie ticket that's redeemable for any movie at a theater of choice when you rent or buy four movies from Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox LIVE! It's that easy!

Grab the popcorn and round up your best buddies, favorite girlfriends, or the entire family because we've got a movie just for you. Even if your pal lives miles away, with Xbox LIVE Party you can watch the same movie and share the experience with up to seven friends.

    * Register by downloading the Red Carpet Rewards Gamer Picture.
    * Rent or buy four movies from Zune Video between May 18 and June 14.
    * Enjoy a summer blockbuster with the Hollywood Movie Money redemption code you'll receive via e-mail.

This is a limited time offer, available only while supplies last. For more details, see the Terms and Conditions.
But wait, we're not quite done. Here's the Terms and Conditions:

To qualify for your movie ticket(s), you must (a) FIRST download the Red Carpet Rewards Gamerpic from http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-..., and then (b) rent and/or buy four (4) movies from Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox LIVE by June 14, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST. If supplies are gone or the offer is no longer available, the gamerpic will no longer be available for download and a message will be posted at http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/media/66acd000-77fe-.... This promotion ends on June 14, 2010 at 11:59 PM PST.

The movie ticket(s) will be awarded in the form of a movie certificate from Hollywood Movie Money® via redemption code(s). Following the end of the promotion and your last qualifying purchase, Hollywood Movie Money® redemption code(s) will be sent to the email address associated with your Xbox LIVE account. Redemption code(s) can be activated at www.activaterewards.com/xboxlive. Please allow up to 4 weeks for delivery of the Hollywood Movie Money® redemption code(s) to your email after the end of the promotion period. A valid email address is required; emails returned as non-deliverable will not be re-sent.

The Hollywood Movie Money® movie redemption code(s) must be redeemed and printed into movie certificates at www.activaterewards.com/xboxlive by July 31, 2010. Each movie certificate is valid and must be redeemed on or before October 31, 2010 for up to a $12 value for one admission at any participating theater in the United States.

This Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox LIVE offer is valid only for legal residents, age 18 plus of the United States, while supplies last. The offer is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be combined with any other rebate or offer. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Microsoft reserves the right to alter or cancel this offer at any time.
First off, United States only. Secondly, make sure you download the required Gamerpic BEFORE you start watching movies. Finally, take those codes Microsoft sends you, go to the reward activation site and redeem them, THEN you get up to $12 off a ticket at a participating theater.

That seems like quite a bit of work to save just a little bit of money, but hey, if you get movies from the Marketplace on a regular basis this might be worth your time. Remember, the program is for EVERY 4 movies you rent or buy.

Is this US only? or does this include the UK? I've never really looked at this but it could encourage me!

Edit... sorry I missed the last paragraph! US only I guess something else we'll miss out on. I'm sure the US get stuff cheaper 2

Wait... where does it say that the promotion is for EACH 4 movies you rent/buy? And I thought renting was pretty cheap from the Zune Marketplace. Depending on how ridiculous your local theater is, isn't this cheaper than actually buying a ticket?

Very first line of the promotion from MS.

receive a FREE movie ticket for every four movies you rent or buy from Zune Video Marketplace on Xbox LIVE

I had to re-read it a few times to make sure of that myself. The Byzantines would be proud of how this promotion was worded.

I just think it's great that I live in Canada and I'm getting US only ads on my Dashboard. Really makes me feel valuable to MS.

For some reason they think the US is the only country in North America(Battlefield DLC) and that Canada is a part of the US but we all speak french or inuit so were not included in american or north american deals.

Well you shouldn't be renting to the movies to get the ticket, just watch movies like you regularly would and you'll just get the ticket.

When you are 18 you become a legal adult.

It seems like this is only helpful to those that buy from the Zune Marketplace regularly.
