I'm tempted to play this game, but haven't played the first one. Learning curve may be too steep.
    This zpace is for rent

If theres something that Overlord doesnt have, its a learning curve.

Though i'd recommend playing the first one first, purely because its a great game. =]

Cant wait to pick this one up xD

I don't want to buy it until i've heard from someone who has played this and played the original. If they are to similar i won't be buying.

Every game has a learning curve.

With that said, Overlord's learning curve is fully experienced within an hour of playing the game, and they do a very good job of teaching the game mechanics and all that. Very intuitive gameplay, not hard to understand, and easy/fun to get the hang of.

I loved the original, and it looks like they're really adding a lot in the new one. Hopefully they made it easier to handle different minion types (I didn't have much trouble separating them for strategic placement, but I kept recalling minions of all colours when I only wanted one, which was frustrating in complex battles). Although I'm not sure it was the best idea to with integrate the camera controls and minion control both into the right analogue stick, but I think the trick is to just flick up first, then the direction you want to sweep.

I've been playing part 2 for a few hours now and the humor hasn't really changed since the first part dance

i started playing yesterday, after having throughly enjoyed the first one. not too terribly far in the game. from what i gather you can choose to destroy towns or enslave them, and the path you choose determines what "forms" of spells you have. I already have had wolf mounts... the minions are hilarious as always. The main enemy seems like the "glorious empire" who is reminiscent of the roman empire... but very anti magical creatures. I've also battled hippy elves complete with rasta multi colored hats.

    strange game. but fun.

I bought and started playing yesterday as well...and after reading several reviews online. It remind me of the Oddworld games. The control took me about an hour to figure out as the included guide must have the smallest type ever. There is an official strategy guide out, but it's funny as it's only 1/4 the size of the normal ones. Controlling minions is great, except my daughter didn't like me bashing the poor, helpless, furry little seals!!!!!!
Now I know NightStalker666 -- No more double-posting for me!

i'm guessing you never played the first one?

The minions are what makes the games wonderful. i just got my greens last night, and i now remember why they were my favorite minion type. they tear stuff up (especially if you put them on a guard marker on an unexpecting foe.)
