there are more games here than already have achievements on the PC, not that i'm compaining, heres hoping they've finally sorted out the tracking issues with GFWL (and proved it to dev's so they are willing to at least try it)
They are getting rid of GFWL with Windows 8.
Where have you seen that?
I can see them not using GFWL for Metro apps, but for the games that are based on the desktop (we all know companies aren't going to start making games Metro-only, they'll go down faster than you've ever seen) I'm pretty sure they'll still be using GFWL.
xPut Name Herex may have innocently fallen victim to a rumour.
On April 17, 2012, Microsoft said that they continued to support the Games for Windows platform, to the rumors of the discontinuation of Games for Windows – LIVE in favor of Xbox Live on Windows.
I'll copy+paste the quote for ease:
Microsoft continues to support the Games for Windows platform, but we are making new investments in Metro style games. For the core PC gamer we launched “Age of Empires Online” last year and “Microsoft Flight” on February 29.
So with that in mind, I too am pretty sure they will keep using GFWL.
