If that's the best MS can come up with I think they should stop this games with gold idea

They are both good games but crackdown was a launch title.

MS started this to compete with PSN PLUS and the difference in quality and age of the games on offer is just embarrassing
I'm usually super friendly on this site, don't know why, I'm a dick everywhere else in the world...but this time I have to speak out. This is the stupidest post I've ever read. I'm not saying anything about you personally, but this is just stupid. Now I'll tell you why.

    1. Xbox 360 came out November 22nd, 2005. Crackdown came out Febuary 20th, 2007. That is not what "launch title" means...ugh. 2. Microsoft did not start this to compete with PS Plus...they did as a thank you to the members who have purchased Xbox Gold...it's a thank you as well as a send off to the old system. This has nothing, I repeat NOTHING to do with PlayStation. Someone either lied to you outright, or you made that up right now, because I searched it and it's not even a theory. We watched them announce this live at E3, we know exactly why there are doing this, they do not need to compete with PS, who makes 1/5 of the sales for every game that's released on both consoles. 3. It's not "PSN PlUS", it's just PlayStation Plus. 4. Microsoft only can choose games that are in their Marketplace. They announced, again at E3, that to choose these titles they were going to pick the most popular games that they have available. The games that have stood the test of time, that continue to get downloaded six years later and that they think people will enjoy. You, the other online gamers and myself are the reasons they are choosing these games to put online, and there is no other reason...they just hope that if you like the game you'll purchase some DLC or an avatar item, but if you don't then you don't! It's up to you. Your post sir is the only thing "embarrassing" about this whole situation. I'm super glad you have the time to get angry about pretend reasons.
I can see where you are coming from, but it isn't really a 'thank you'. Businesses don't give away free things. It is a business decision. Either way, it sort of is an answer to PS Plus for the time being. I'm sure they are looking heavily into the ststistics and using this as a test for next-gen and future ideas.

It doesn't mean they are 'copycats', it is just competition. I think the games this month are pretty good as well. Obviously, I'd like to see this expanded upon and made better.

Too bad this "thank you" doesn't extend to those loyal members who don't CURRENTLY have Xbox Live Gold. Yup, definitely not a business decision. It's a thank you, from the bottom of Microsoft's wallet....I mean heart..........fart (I just did....).

no that's just you finding the similarity between the two , if this was to even compete with PSN+ there would be a lot more games and newer quality.

Why would it be given to silver members? nothing to stop them adding a 1 month live code to the account to take advantage of the offer though,

I wish it would have been Case West instead of Case Zero...I already have DR2 and Case Zero.

It probably was the German government in this instance. They (the government) are a wacky bunch over there ever since WWII (I wonder why......*cough* elephant in the room *cough*).
We don't have a german goverment since 1945. The disgrace they call BRD is NOT germany.

The reason we don't get Crackdown and Dead Rising is because the USK didn't approve the game for 18+ and the BPJM banned it (only games without a USK-approval can be banned). A banned game can be sold to adults only but no advertising or open on the shelfes. Pretty much like pornography. If MS bothered with an adult check, we could play Crackdown, Dead Rising and every other game that is banned (except for confiscated games like Manhunt = selling forbidden, but owning is allowed).

I wish we'd get PEGI. Way easier and less censorship.

Cool. Maybe now someone on my friends list will actually be playing Dead Rising 2.

Still waiting for a game I don't already own.

He did say it was a thank you for having gold so that would mean it wouldn't extend to silver members. It is a thank you as far as businesses go.

I am curious on your thoughts on those special edition consoles that they gave away as a thank you to people who had gold from the beginning of xbox live. From a business perspective, they would get a small tax write off and a bit of positive PR, but they would have easily made money on those if they released them as a limited edition anniversary console, which would have sold out. Though there is some side benefit, it was a thank you because they could have just mailed out a keychain or a controller even.

i must be one of da luckiest ppl which dont have any of the games given by gfg by now.yay!
I haven't had any of the games realeased for gfg yet as well. It's great!
Evokes sympathy for those that never played ACII.
Then again AC II costs just a few bucks nowadays, money well spent to keep more room free on your hard drive I think. I didn't download the GFG version; I'd rather keep the disc tucked in between the other ones. I didn't have Fable III, Dead Rising 2 or Crackdown yet though. (I didn't have the one from the beginning of july yet either (I forget which one that was) but it seemed like a game I really wouldn't enjoy so I refrained from downloading it)
You can always just get it for free but not download it yet. It will then always be free for you to download once you get a bit more space on your hd.

But I feel your pain though, my hd is almost full so I really need to complete some games so I can delete them and get more.
Blue, green, orange, the fun cannot be halted.

I bought a new 120 GB external hard drive yesterday, so I'm good to go again. It's indeed really annoying when you get to your storing limit and you just can't find anything to delete.

But honestly, even without storing limitations I'd rather have AC II on disc; it just seems nicer that way. I've got all the others too, and starting with Revelations I've got pre-order special editions (I started with the first game just as Revelations was about to arrive). I don't really feel anything for games on demand, I'd rather have the disc versions. But for some free games, I will make exceptions smile

Exactly note that you said PSN I would prefer to see them on Xbox360 so I have higher chance of still having them and playing them.

So ... How do you make a Germany account?
Go to passport.net make a German email, then make a German xbl account on xbox.com, then recover it to your xbox, then try d/l the GoD, if you're on a PAL console it'll work, any other it will not let you d/l it (this is not available in your region)
You still need a gold account to be able to download it ! someone has a 48 h code ? laugh
Actually tried that. Apparently 48 hour codes don't give you access to the sales, only online. silly me cry

While I agree with you that the difference in quality is big, Crackdown was released in 2007 (it was famous for including a Halo 3 beta code, if I remember correctly). So it's not a launch title (Xbox 360 was released in 2005), but it's still better than getting nothing for Gold, something I've been paying more to get Netflix on TV than anything else (I barely play online these days).

After Crackdown 3 will be confirmed at Gamescom later this month we'll see that every Games with gold offer gets a new game for the 360/One.
