    INB4 Slime!

These shots look really cool, but isn't this the series where you just mash buttons and kill hordes of the same enemies over and over? And over?

DW6 was such a letdown, but this game seems to be KOEI doing it's best to get back in our good graces.

    ...And it's working!

yep! thats what i didn't like about it. i used to play the first games of the series and got bored with it since it was the same stuff! You can always change up your attack though. For example you can K.O. a couple hundred guys that look exactly the same by mashing the Y button, but then turn around and kill another 100 of their twins by mashing the X button. haha

I'm loving these improvements and how they are finally making changes. Every Dynasty Warriors game feels the same, DW6 had some good changes but the graphics stayed the same as Dynasty Warriors 3 basically and the campaign was not fun at all! Dynasty Warriors 7 looks like they are finally putting time into recreating all the character designs, which are looking great... not too over the top/ridiculous nor too watered down, each character is looking unique and greatly designed, and finally more characters introduced, it took them long enough!

Gan Ning of the Bells! If you havent read the book Three Kingdoms, you really should. What a great day when i learned that these characters were part of Chinese Historical Fiction.

It does, not for story mode since that's single player only, but for a new mode called conquest mode (I think thats what it's called, thats all new)

Online co-op would be fun but not for story, as much as the AI can be bad. Conquest will be a pretty interesting mode...can't wait to give it a try.

Parts of the books are pretty dry, but they are still worth reading if you're a huge fan of Dynasty Warriors/Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

While I'm glad they finally announced Gan Ning, I'm not sure I like his new look. Oh well, at least he's in it.

Wow. Gan ning looks kinda badass. I still prefer his old look to this one, but the change isn't too bad.

Most of these were already known to be on the roster. They're are 62 playable characters I believe. The notable non returning characters expected are Pang De, and Zuo Ci. Who knows, maybe they'll come as some of that free Dlc they like to give out:)

It's already known that most of the old costume will be returning as DLC, both free and paid. Included in this is all of the costumes 6..For freesmile

Also in Japan if you get a first run copy it comes with a code for Zhao Yun's original DW costume. Hopefully that makes it's way to US and EU copies as well.

My copy of the book is a hardcover translation from the 1970's and it's huge and causes back problems... but it had an effect on me similar to a good video game... all i wanted to do is play (in this case read) it.

Not so sure I like the look of what they have done to Gan Ning - Really liked the old version with the scimitar!
