    Awful list.

    Sine Mora
    Braid
    Rock Band Blitz
    Giana Sisters
    Pid
    Monaco

Just to name a few that are all better than every game on this list while still fitting the bill of first releasing on XBLA.

Uhm, no. No it wasn't. I'm still surprised at how many of these writers for TA ignore decades of gaming.
And yet you failed to actually prove your point by giving us an example.

JMJimmy said:#1 Orcs Must Die (released first on XBLA then PC 6 days later)
    #2 Shadow Complex
#3 Iron Brigade (released first on XBLA then later on GFWL)
#4 Battlefield 1943 //As much as I hate to admit it, I really enjoyed this (released first on XBLA, PS3 1 day later)
#5 Deathspank technically released on PS3 first... so instead: Section 8: Prejudice (released first on XBLA then a couple weeks later on GFWL)
    Much better list IMO.

I think the main problem with this list is that it is limited to only 5 games. Seriously, there are hundreds of them, why only 5? Should have been like 25. In fact, I wished we had a separate list of game of the generation for XBLA games. My top 10 would look something like this (in no particular order):

    Castle Crashers
    Limbo
    ilomilo
    Braid
    DeathSpank
    The Walking Dead
Trials HD (I played only the first one)
    Dust: An Elysian Tail
    Beyond Good & Evil HD
    Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2

I'd also give honorable mentions to The Cave, Ms. Splosion Man and maybe Deadlight. And no, I haven't played Bastion, Shadow Complex, Mark of the Ninja or Fez yet.

I agree with a lot of people here. The list is good, but there are way better games. Everyone has their own top 5.

    Good list.

I wish From Dust, Bastion, and Dead Rising: Case Zero got a mention.

    Oh well.

Though I don't agree with most of this list, 1 vs 100 was a very good concept for MS... Wish they'd stuck with that game.

I loved 1vs100, shame I didn't get enough time on it. One of my all time favourites is Battleblock Theater, couldn't get enough of it (and neither could my girlfriend!).

Spent so many hours on it, although she can't do co-op insane with me, I'd probably break up with her in rage haha.

Thought it at least deserved an honourable.

I agree with honorable mention 1 vs 100 and splosion man, apart from that you lost me personally...

I paid zero attention to who the developer was. In fact it did not dawn on me that these were MS studios until I read your commentIt's because, since self-publishing is not an option on the XBLA platform, the developers needed to find a publisher to get their games on XBLA. If a developer found a publisher like Ubisoft, Activision, etc., their game would have been released on Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and possibly Wii simultaneously, since those publishers are designed for such, and thus disqualified for the list as they released multi-platform. The developers who instead signed with Microsoft Studios to publisher their game signed a 6-month exclusivity agreement (in most cases) before they could bring the game to PC, PS, or other platforms, so they all qualified for the list.

    Life, it's funny that way.

Everyone has their own top 5.And that is the beauty of individuality. But isn't that a problem? I mean, if this is a personal list, isn't a TA Top 5, but a TerraCottaGamer Top 5. A TA Top 5 would consider everyone's opinions. Therefore, this is the crap of individuality. I don't see a problem with TA Top 5, but lists like this one is going to get a lot of different responses. Imagine one called "Best Xbox 360 games" (I don't know if this was one of the first ever made): I predict the Armageddon in this website.

To OP: what is the criterion for such choices? Each one seems to be chosen at random. For example, Limbo is considered for its ambientation, while MNC for its gameplay. Fez has a different game mechanics and Shadow Complex because it's a copy of Metroid (the same with Mark of the ninja doing nothing new and just taking other game mechanics). There's no pattern at all!

The easiest way to make a more universal Top 5 list is to use more specific conditions, such as "best gameplay in XBLA games". It's easier, but not final.

I have been a vocal person about the newshounds top 5 and then a site poll on Top 5 so we can compare. It has been dismissed by staff.

Hell, there's so many XBLA games now, one could put together a top 5 list for each year, starting in roughly 2008/2009.

While my personal list wouldn't look much like this one, they're still solid titles.

While growth was slow, Microsoft stayed committed to XBLA and integrated the service into the dashboard of the 360.Shame they didn't stay committed to GFWlL Win8, WP, XBLIG...

I just made a personal decision to try to tackle it all at once.I can't blame you, but I can imagine it was difficult to rank these since people have different tastes. For example, I'm a huge fan of Card and Board games, so I would definitely rank one of those in my top five.

I see you did limit what could be included, so there's that. Without those caveats you probably would've had to have listed Minecraft.

Fez is garbage and Phil Fish is a piece of shit.
