I really wasn't planning to play this much more right now, but this sounds like a great cause so I'll be loading it up! My daughter loves this game, so win win.
Look at me so I can finish!

The Xbox One version of the game is a timed retail exclusive at Walmart.

There has to be a little more to it than that. You can have it shipped retail version from Microsoft right now as well as digital download. You could also buy it from a local Microsoft Store (retail). So perhaps Walmart just paid for a third party distributor exclusive? Meaning MS Could still sell it, but no other retailers except Walmart?

Good PR for MS and gamers at the end of this. Kudos to all for the efforts towards it.

I'm 99% sure it's only the Xbox One version as the 360 version cuts out the live functionality etc.

Well, the 360 doesn't support challenges, and the game is using the challenge feature to track this (I think it's the first community based challenge on the Xbox One), so I believe that means it's only the Xbox One version. Xbox 360 version owners can still vote on which charity they'd like to support within their game though.
Gamers have two hobbies: Playing games, and complaining about those games

Great game and great causes! 'Bravo' to whoever thought of this.

So, who will you vote for? I'm leaning towards Sumatran Tigers

This is a great idea, but couldn't they just donate anyway instead of making a PR/marketing event.

There's always one who tries to spin it so that MS is the evil organisation.......

    That's not how charity works...

Which is why you see people doing all sorts of things for charity, it's all to do with marketing and raising awareness for a cause, if MS had just donated the money, would all of the people playing the game been aware of the charity?, by doing what they are doing, the effectively widen the market of awareness for the charity and potentially greatly increase the possible amount of money generated.
