MP only games just aren't that appealing, no matter how good they look.
Think of how many millions of people were willing to pay full price to get the latest Call of Duty game on launch day. They all dropped $60 or more on the game. They didn't do this simply so they could play campaign mode for less than twelve hours; most of them did this for the multiplayer. And sure, COD has some epic campaign modes. I absolutely loved the campaign in Black Ops, and it's one of my faves to this day...
But much like most people, I rushed to get it right away at launch because I knew the multiplayer would be awesome. Multiplayer is what keeps anyone playing a COD game for the long run, and the same applies to Halo, Battlefield, and so forth. To think that people won't pay $15 for an excellent multiplayer-only Live Arcade game is going a bit too far. Or as previous people have cited as an example: Battlefield 1943.
