Nyte Rayne 2 has registered their disagreement about the genres applied to this game
I think this game needs a second, well third, look. The Globalizer is correct. This is not just a Saints Row game where you run around shooting things and these "individual modes" were tacked on at the end. To be fair, these are not just indicative of the gameplay in Monday Night Combat, they ARE the gameplay.
To go into more detail, upon launching the game, there are only two options:
Option A (Blitz Mode) is a coop tower defense game. It can be played solo, couch coop or xbox live coop. Minions spawn from predetermined points and follow a set path to reach your money ball (base). Players are allowed to place towers to defeat the mobs, along with their own weapons. The game ends when all waves of minions have been defeated or your base moneyball has been destroyed.
Option B (Crossfire) is the MOBA PvP version. Each team starts by their base moneyball and push one of two lanes, escorting the minions from your side to attack and destroy the enemy's base moneyball. Towers can again be placed to attack enemy players/minions that are assaulting you down the lanes.
There is no other type of gameplay for this game. If there was only Blitz mode, it would be a textbook Tower Defense game. If there was only Crossfire mode, it would be a nearly textbook MOBA game (a bit light with only 2 lanes and a small map, but the elements are still there). However, both modes are present and should be tagged accodingly as the options you have are 50% Tower Defense, 50% MOBA. Placing neither tag does not help define this game.

tl;dr - I humbly think that The Globalizer was correct and Tower Defense and MOBA tags should be added to this game.
