espenke said:I originally got very exited when I saw this, but after seeing that they apparantly are continuing the cartoony style from the last game, I am more reluctant to these news. I never got to play this game at home for more than five minutes back in the day because it crashed all the time, so my memories are mostly from shorter bouts at friends' places. Is this in line with the original? Are my glasses so rose-tinted? I had a long rant written out, but decided against posting it before hearing with those who played this extentively. Is this a cheap way to get new fans like The Phantom Menace, or fully true to the original? To me, right now, "new" Larry reminds me an awful lot of Jar Jar Binks. May he be devoured for a thousand years.
This is the original EGA graphics of LSL1.
This is the official VGA remake done in like '91 or so, which was essentially the exact same game, just redone in better graphics.
This is from Leisure Suit Larry 6.
Basically, the "cartoony" look is nothing new to the series. This remake might be taking it a bit further, namely with the screen of him getting run over.
If this remake didn't include Al Lowe, I would be worried. It remains to be seen if the game will be a shot-for-shot remake or if it'll have things like Greedo shooting first.
