Okay, nostalgic and all...eager to check it out but....

When will we see the remake of the GOOD Sierra games like:

Okay time to show my age...

    Police Quest series
    King's Quest series
Quest for Glory Series (personal favorite...this would be instant XBLA hit)

I can't see anyone who has played these games not agreeing.

I want these games bad enough I'm ready to start hunting down Roberta Williams (Kings Quest) and the other developers / writers!
Forrest, mama was wrong...life's like a box of achievements...never know which one you're gonna get

Never got to play any of these games, though having played and thoroughly enjoyed both the Monkey Island remakes, I'm definitely up for some more adventure gaming.

Btw, I remember watching one of my cousins play an adventure game called Rosella when I was a kid...was that a King's Quest title?

    Number 4 I believe.

I originally got very exited when I saw this, but after seeing that they apparantly are continuing the cartoony style from the last game, I am more reluctant to these news. I never got to play this game at home for more than five minutes back in the day because it crashed all the time, so my memories are mostly from shorter bouts at friends' places. Is this in line with the original? Are my glasses so rose-tinted? I had a long rant written out, but decided against posting it before hearing with those who played this extentively. Is this a cheap way to get new fans like The Phantom Menace, or fully true to the original? To me, right now, "new" Larry reminds me an awful lot of Jar Jar Binks. May he be devoured for a thousand years.
We both said a lot of things you are going to regret.

Honestly, I haven't found Box office Bust that bad yet.
The cutscenes are cheesy as fuck though.

Will be a pleasure to play one of the originals!

This is the original EGA graphics of LSL1.

This is the official VGA remake done in like '91 or so, which was essentially the exact same game, just redone in better graphics.

This is from Leisure Suit Larry 6.

Basically, the "cartoony" look is nothing new to the series. This remake might be taking it a bit further, namely with the screen of him getting run over.

If this remake didn't include Al Lowe, I would be worried. It remains to be seen if the game will be a shot-for-shot remake or if it'll have things like Greedo shooting first.

    Awesome. Original LSL was classic.
You said it. The DOS/Floppy disc version were some of the best games I remember back in the day. I hope they don't fuck this up using one of Larry's family. They should go back to the classics

It's the original ega graphics I remember, that's probably why I thought this looked bad. Oh well, I'll just have to see how this ends up.

If you remember, Larry gets run over in the middle of the road by a taxi if he steps out in the road without hailing a taxi. He also has his leg pee'd on by a dog if he stands by the taxi stand for too long.

Yes, I remember that. What I was referring to was the degree of balloonification of Larry's head in the picture. THAT is what I meant by the cartoony going a bit further. I don't remember the degree to which that kind of thing happened in the VGA version.

I think saying that the game wasn't worth playing is going too far, because I enjoyed it. But it wasn't a leisure suit larry game. In the slightest. And the story and characters were awful, there was just something about the gameplay that I found addictive...

However, the news of the return of the originals brings warmth to my heart. I really hope the first does well so I can get no.3 as that was the one I played the most as a kid! (don't judge me or my dad's parenting win laugh)

How would it work though? You used to have to type in what you wanted him to do...

    EDIT: DaShAg said:
this brings back memories, norhing ever will beat good ol' Full Throttle though
This would make me weep with joy if they re-released this in HD... it just seems like it's fallen off the face of the planet and it was one of the greatest.
