This is a dungeon crawler, but also RPG. You level up your character, get new equipment and skills (and can in turn level that through a crafting system). You also get companions that can be leveled as well. Similar games: Diablo series.

Dungeon crawlers are almost always a sub genre of RPG. The original Gauntlet may be debatable since there really is no character growth. This is hands down an RPG
