I see recent winners (after a long drought) on all five of these. I'm about to edit the cautionary comment I have in the guides I wrote for the first three of these. I did not write guides for the last two.

The achievement that has the fewest recent winners is:
Mafia IIIThe New BossThe The New Boss achievement in Mafia III worth 48 pointsFlip 16 Racket Bosses

Of course, of the five, The New Boss, takes the longest time to unlock.

I have recently bought the digital copy of this game (On the 28th of April) and am not seeing any progression in the grind achievements, like the ones mentioned by you guys. I have all the necessary updates as well. It's unfortunate, as this game already requires two playthroughs, and I've knocked out over 150 enemies and recruited informants and racket bosses.

I hope you will not have a problem. There are quite a few recent winners in this achievement that had been severely glitched earlier. Whether current or accurate, the gamehub presently shows you with 57 takedowns that may or may not be stealth takedowns. As I'm sure you know, the conditions to unlock this achievement are to perform 100 stealth takedowns. Since the information I have is not as timely as you looking at your own gamehub when you play, I would advise that you consult it occasionally.

Since there are recent winners, it might be of benefit to talk to one of them. Jonny1872, for example, is a recent winner who has commented on the issue and, I'm sure, would be happy to share info.

You might want to consult this guide to assist you. You may have already advanced the story beyond the point depicted in the video guide but the concept can be applied elsewhere in the game:

Just wanted to say I have the base 1000. Didn't play the game until the latest patch came out. Everything worked fine for me except for the achievement for completing the Cuban Connection story quest; it didn't unlock until I did it again on a second playthrough.

Interesting. This is the first I've heard of that achievement being glitched. It may not have been a game related glitch as the others have been but a console glitch. The X1 has a history of achievements not unlocking when they're supposed to.

Can anyone give me a 100% way to unlock the bugged takedown achievements? it's the last few I need I've played through the game once when it was released twice when the first dlc came out and a third time now I'm half way through and I know I've gotten more then 100 stealth takedowns and over 300 takedowns in total within just this playthrough I even completely deleted all memory from the game before I went for it and it still won't unlock it's very frustrating for the fact it's a pretty longish repetitive game without saves I rather not play through it three more times .~. any help would be appreciated I'd expect this to be fixed itself by now considering its late after the second dlc.

I know Mafia III achievement glitches can be very frustrating and I sympathize.

If you look at the recent winners block on the right hand side of the achievement page, it shows that players are unlocking the takedown achievements daily. So, although individuals may still be hit with random problems, the widespread problems have been fixed.

The takedown achievements can be earned in two to three hours of game play after starting a new game. Play to the Way of Flesh mission and grind at the First Baptist Church complex. I have guides with video that provide detailed explanations along with info on the achievement glitches. Here's the guide for Shh, shh:

Allgorhythm Mafia III Shh, shh Allgorhythm's solution for the Shh, shh Achievement in Mafia IIIPerformed 100 Stealth Takedowns on enemies

If you have a physical copy of the game, there is a sure fire way to avoid the glitch. Uninstall the game, go offline, and reinstall from the physical disk. You will be installing the base game without the updates that created the glitches. Play offline until you unlock the takedown achievements. Go to the dashboard. Go back online but do not start the game. Your local achievements will synch with the global data and your online profile will be credited with the achievements. The reason I say don't start the game is to prevent the game from synching with the global save game data. This allows you (once you have been credited with the achievements you need) to revert to your online saved game data. My assumption is you would want to because that would reflect greater progress in the game.

If you don't have a physical disk and are among the unfortunate few that are still having problems with certain achievements, a game reinstall would be advisable. Even better is, if you have access to a second console, play the game on a second console. Since the problem is no longer widespread, do everything you can to change the circumstances that may be contributing to your problems.

Since I've played the game around release I got hit with the achievement bugs and are sadly stuck with them, I have it digital my brother was playing the game just a week ago for the first time and he got them all without a problem and since I seen that I figured I'd give it another go and I'm still stuck with the problem hopefully I'll at least get the one to flip all racket bosses this playthrough cause if I replayed the entire game for no reason I may have to give up entirely I tried new game I tried deleting my entire save connected to it and they still won't unlock I seen everyone else's way of "how they got it" but I wanted to know the guaranteed way to get it since I shouldn't have to be going out of my way to do something to get it anyway I'd prefer to go out of my way to 100% get it rather then go out of way for the chance to get it you know?

I agree with you completely. You shouldn't have to go out of your way to get the achievements. Even though my guides show how to grind them quickly, they should unlock through normal game play without grinding.

The fact that your brother had no issues is a positive sign. It shows you have a good install. It sounds like you want to start a new game and flip all racket bosses. If so, go for the takedown achievements at the same time and I wish you the best of luck.

He got them all without a problem on his Xbox though and I'm already half way through the game on my own Xbox with the takedown achievements still bugged, I just also deleted and reinstalled the game but in your opinion should I not waste my time playing through it on mine cause it more then less will be bugged, should I try on his Xbox, or should I try the offline option I'm just fearing playing through the entire thing and the racket achievement still being glitched as well

another question to ask, is the glitch tied to my account or the game? would simply trying it on my brothers Xbox work?

I was assuming you and your brother were playing on the same XBox. Since he has a different one, by all means, play on his XBox.

The widespread glitch was a game problem. The developers, 2K, admitted that it was an unfortunate byproduct of the January update. The problem was to a large extent remedied when the first DLC was released. However, some individuals continued to have complaints.

Because the remaining issues are random, it is difficult to say whether they are game related or console related. The X1, as a console, has a history of achievement glitches itself. There may be corrupt game, system, save file data on your console. If so, your best tactic is to play on a second console using a game installation with a proven success record. Your brother's console seems to be ideal for that.

Edited to add: Just recently, I had an achievement glitch problem playing Siberia 3. I didn't know whether it was a game or a console issue. Since I have two consoles, I installed the game on the second console and all achievements popped on cue:

Alright last question, if I was to finish this play through with the save on my Xbox on his do you think that'd fix everything and I could get all achieveos on his or do think I'd have to start a new game all over again?

The first thing you should do is log in on his XBox. Then, start playing Mafia III. As soon as you do, you will synch with your cloud data. This will copy all your global game data locally. Now, you can work on the achievements you are missing.

You probably won't be able to trust the takedown counter in the game hub but note all the stats on the game hub when you start playing on your brother's console. Not to get your hopes up, but there is a possibility that one takedown will unlock:
Mafia IIICombat SpecialistThe Combat Specialist achievement in Mafia III worth 24 pointsKill 300 enemies using Takedowns

If it's a stealth takedown, it might also unlock:
Mafia IIICombat SpecialistThe Combat Specialist achievement in Mafia III worth 24 pointsKill 300 enemies using Takedowns

You obviously have met the requirements for the achievements so it just needs the right trigger. If the new console recognizes your count, you will get credit. If the counter restarts, then you'll have to do the full number of takedowns.

Hope this makes sense.

Welp I tried on a completely different console... took count at 1405 takedowns made sure I've only done stealth now I have 1553 takedowns yet still no unlock it's so frustrating, what more can I possibly do to get these bugged achievements to pop.

That's really unfortunate. Did you start a new game or continue the game you had been playing on your console?

You probably have better things to do than keep tinkering with this. My recommendation is to submit a support request at http://support.2k.com/hc/en-us/requests/new. If you don't have an account, take a minute to create one. Previously, there were a number of achievements that were glitched. It was a game issue that affected all platforms. So, 2K could not offer much help other than to say they were working on it and hoped to fix it in a future update.

This is different as you know. Your brother did not have any issues and quite a few people unlocked this achievement yesterday. So, there may be something that 2K can do. At any rate, it is obviously a complex problem. While you might eventually be able to resolve it, you probably want to be playing unglitched games rather than continue to be frustrated by these achievements.

I continued the save from the other Xbox, continually going for an achieveo without full confidence of receiving it is miserable it sucks it really does, I already sent an email to them but I strongly feel like this won't even be resolved and I'm the type of person that likes to do one thing at a time so it sucks to have to bury it and wait on it I rather finish it completely so I can have it off my mind it's sad cause I liked the game but this is killing it a lot for me I literally bought and played it at the wrong time how unfortunate is that? people who got it on release no problem and people who buy it now no problems but since I bought it at a certain time I'm f*cked it seems I'll wait for the email if I receive one but it'll probably just be something that is forgotten cause I'm one of few not many and it's an old problem so they will more then less sadly push it away considering its sometime since the 2nd dlc has came out and there hasn't been any fix to this for the people that got hit with the glitch why would there be now? I don't know, may just have to be one of the games to let go and forget about which is pretty hard for a completionist

I know how you feel. I'm absolutely the same way. I like to start what I finish.

With regards to achievement glitches, I have experienced them in about a dozen games. They have been of various types--some console related others game related. I seem to have a bulls eye on my back. Fortunately, by hook or by crook, I have resolved all of them so far. The most valuable tool has been the second console although I often find I have to completely replay the game segment in question.

It is more likely that you will resolve the issue with a brand new game rather than continuing your old one even if it is on a second console. Many players who were hit with the glitch following the Jan update found out that the March update remedied it but only in a new game.

If I were in your situation, this is what I would do. I would delete my save data and choose the option to delete it from everywhere. Then, I would start a new game.

There's a variation on this that I might prefer especially if I have game progress I want to keep. I would delete the save data from the console go offline and start a new game. I would play to the point where I can verify whether I could unlock the achievements. Once I got the achievements I wanted, I would quit the game, go to the dashboards, go online and synch up to get the achievements. I would not play Mafia III. Instead, after I got credit for the achievements, I would delete the console save data for the offline play. Then, next time I played the game online, things would synch up and I'd have the progress from my saved files in the cloud.

You may, however, want to delete everything. The reason is that the three remaining achievements you have that are not takedown related are very involved. They take almost the entire playthrough to unlock. If I were you, I would have the most confidence in getting these achievements if I started a brand new game on the brother's console.
