Game Discussion: The Great Wobo Escape (Windows)

Crashing and How to Preserve Save Data

  • Posted on 23 March 17 at 13:18
This seems to be a common problem with the 1.1 update, which fixed the Save All Woblings achievement. If you want to preserve your save data, and resolve the crash, backup the following two files:

    %APPDATA%\..\Local\Packages\GAMETROOPERS.TheGreatWoboEscape_334sksj6ker18\LocalState

    playerprefs.dat
    savegames.sav

Uninstall and reinstall the game, boot it up, and sign into your Xbox account to verify that the crash is fixed. Close the game and put these files back into their original location, and launch the game.

Thanks for that, this will definitely help when I get back to this game!

This was a big help. Saved my game!
Yeah, but I can also form a sentence, so you know... there's that.

Just as a note, my version on my Win 10 tablet was crashing on load for a while. I stopped playing for a longer while. When I finally tried it again, it managed to start fine without messing with the game folder. Haven't done the speedrun glitch yet after getting it back up and running, but I probably will soon - it seems some of the earlier stages are simply impossible without it.
