Posted on 24 April 17 at 17:32I've not played this game. Could additional explanation be supplied as to why Sandbox is requested? Ideally some specifics from the gameplay we could look into. Thanks!Eclectic Gamers Podcast: http://eclecticgamers.com
Posted on 24 April 17 at 17:35The hub worlds are pretty large, so it could be considered sandbox in that respect. The player is encouraged to freely roam these hub worlds in order to find collectibles.Wake me, when you need me.
Posted on 04 May 17 at 16:58While the hub is fairly open world it seems (I have played the Lord of the Rings version, which did similar), the gameplay experience also seems essentially identical to what you get in the levels. Open World alone isn't enough to meet the TA definition of Sandbox, and collectible gathering is a feature in other genres (including linear ones). I get the argument, but for me there isn't quite enough here to add Sandbox, especially as the current assignment seems consistent with the other hub-incorporated LEGO games. Recommendation:No change.Eclectic Gamers Podcast: http://eclecticgamers.com
Posted on 05 May 17 at 15:33I haven't played this one but I will try watch some gameplay. Is the hub anything similar to LEGO Marvel Heroes which the large amount of side activities?
Posted on 05 May 17 at 19:57I've not played that one either. LOTR was really the only one I did with a huge open world. It had collectibles around, but didn't offer gameplay at all different than the individual levels. But I think that's the last LEGO game I played.Eclectic Gamers Podcast: http://eclecticgamers.com
Posted on 13 May 17 at 01:57After watching a few videos I'm inclined to agree. The hub worlds (from what I could tell there were multiple hub worlds instead of just one) all have side missions/activities from what I can tell which can be done at the players leisure as is common with sandbox games. I'll ask a couple of friends that specifically follow the sandbox genre leaderboard for their thoughts.

Posted on 06 October 17 at 23:25FYI Open World should be applied to every LEGO game from the Hobbit onwards. They play out the exact same way. Massive hubs - lots of shit to do
