1st person perspective. and you shoot (give live and take life) but you still shoot a weapon. Therefore, 1st person shooter is correct here as well.

The "shooting" isn't really shooting, and it's not a huge part of the game regardless. I agree with the Adventure only tag personally.

Thanks for your suggestion. We are reviewing and will respond as soon as possible. Personally though I am against adding FPS to the game as I find it to be a very loose fit if at all.

It's definitely not FPS.

From footage review, I don't think our definition of FPS really applies in this case. I recommend against making the change.

Just finished it less than an hour ago. It has fps elements, for sure! 2 achievements are obtained via fps.

What makes an fps? Do you need the BFG? You gotta be shooting Russians with assault rifles?

You shoot energy with the RT button. The LEAF suit acts as the clip and the blue energy from trees, orbs, animals, generators and so on is AMMO, health and jumping/swinging energy.

Just because it doesn't have a lot of action... Or hard action, it's still an fps. Does it need a mp lobby with a bunch of kids freaking out that they lost?

Is shooting a major part of the gameplay though? (im asking, the game is still in my backlog)

Only in a few spots, it's kinda just an ability similar to any other adventure game. It's always there and you use it from time to time, but never focused on it

You shoot trees to bring them back to life to revive the valley. You can absorb life from the little glowy guys and animals that move.

On a side note, i reinstalled the game and got my girlfriend to try killing the 3 swarms in the big room in the facility. She said it's too hard and ended up getting the valley killed.

She's horrible beyond belief at shooters and she can't do it. Getting rid of the tagline could get some casuals upset.

You can't fight in outlast and it shares tons of similarities with a walking simulator. If someone doesn't scare easy and they find it easy, does their opinion classify it as a walking simulator?

Well no because it's pretty clear and straight forward what Outlast is regardless of the difficulty or lack thereof any individual has with the game.

I've watched extra footage since my last comment and I stand by my opinion that the game is not FPS.

I personally view this as a first-person platformer, and I will echo the sentiments of above that while there are FPS elements, it's not enough of a feature to warrant a tag.

I think Spiral was actually requesting Platformer be added, not FPS.

Yes, referencing the prior chain of conversations. Sorry, totally got confused about Platformer not already being applied.

Thoughts from others regarding Platformer being added in?
