This game is a fairly straightforward, short visual novel occurring from the perspective of an average guy - Michael - on a 7-day vacation to a super-expensive resort alongside his parents, who are very clearly and obviously still head over heels in love with each other.

Michael stumbles on a pretty young woman his age named Rose, who comes from a rather different way of life...

The next seven days focus on how Michael and Rose go through their vacation. The gameplay consists entirely of dialogue options, and does allow for save states and skipping previously-seen dialogue, so it's very easy to explore the varying branches of dialogue.

The visual novel's main theme is family - good and bad. It's difficult to say more without going into spoiler territory.

Between the simple gameplay and the shortness of the game itself, most of the enjoyment of this game comes from watching Michael deal with his embarrassing parents and try to be charming with Rose, who sees right through him every time. But, if you're watching for it, it'll be fairly obvious when the game takes a darker turn...

There are three potential endings to see, depending entirely on Michael's relationship with Rose.

All said and told, between the game's brevity, ease of play, character design and storytelling, I enjoyed 7 Days of Rose. A nice little palate cleanser from other, longer games. The only real downside, in my opinion, was the general predictability of the story after a certain point.

    My score: 4/5
