Welcome to the walkthrough for AC/DC Live Rock Band Track Pack! There's not a whole lot to this game, so let's get started with Solo Tour.
Before starting Solo Tour, you must decide what instrument and difficulty you want to play on. You can play on any difficulty, and on any instrument other than bass. Bass does not have its own Solo Tour. There are a few things to consider when making your decision.
While there is no requirement for difficulty, you must keep in mind that you have to be able to not only pass all 18 songs, but get 5 stars on them as well. There's an achievement for getting 5 stars on all songs in Solo Tour, but they have to be done in the same Solo Tour on the same instrument/difficulty combo. Therefore, when picking your instrument and difficulty, make sure you can 5 star everything. Guitar has a lot of solos that can definitely mess you up. Vocals are generally annoying, especially considering that this game uses the super tight Rock Band 1 engine. Drums are no real problem for an expert player, but "Let There Be Rock" has a really high tempo with no breaks that will tire you out fast and be a bit of an obstacle. Typically, unless you're one of the highest level Rock Band players, I'd recommend doing the Solo Tour on one difficulty lower than you normally do, just in case. It would be really annoying to get toward the bottom of the list and find that you can't pass/5 star a song and have to start over on a lower difficulty.
Another thing to keep in mind while selecting your instrument is efficiency. Some achievements can be unlocked by getting 5 stars on certain songs on one of two specific instruments. Guitar and vocals both have two achievements tied to them, but drums has 3, making drums the most efficient instrument to play Solo Tour on. I'll cover these achievements later in the Quickplay section, so scroll down there to see what songs have to be played on which instrument.
Once you've made your decision on instrument and difficulty, start your Solo Tour. What we're going to do is play through all 18 songs in one sitting, getting 5 stars on each song.
On the first song, purposely fail out as fast as possible, then select “Retry.” If you get at least 4 stars after retrying, you'll get your first achievement.
Back In Black
4-Star or better on a song after failing out and choosing "Retry".
Once you've finished all 18 songs in the Solo Tour, assuming you didn't turn off the console in-between, you'll get an achievement.
If there are any songs you didn't get 5 stars on, go back and 5 star them in the Solo Tour. Once all 18 songs have been 5-starred in the same Solo Tour on the same difficulty, you'll grab another achievement.
We Salute You!
5-Star all the songs on AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band on any difficulty.
And that's it for Solo Tour. Now let's move on to Quickplay to mop up most of what's left.
If you got the achievement for 5-starring Solo Tour, you will undoubtedly have at least a few of these achievements. And if you played Solo Tour on Expert, you may have picked up the 100% achievement for the instrument you played on.
First of all, there are 4 achievements for getting 5 stars on any difficulty on certain songs with one of two instruments. These instrument choices differ from one achievement to another. 2 can be done on guitar, 2 can be done on vocals, 3 can be done on drums and 1 can be done on bass. Therefore, if you did Solo Tour on drums, you'll have 3 of these already, and if you did Solo Tour on guitar or vocals, you'll have 2. Take a look at which songs need to be done on which instruments and decide which instrument/difficulty you want to do them on and boot them up in Quickplay. There's really not much to say about these, since you can do them on any difficulty and it all depends on your skill as to how long it will take. You may also consider combining them with the 100% achievements if you can.
Next, we have the achievements for getting 100% on a song on each instrument on Expert. For bass, you have to do it with only upstrums and on guitar you only have to get 100% on a guitar solo section as opposed to the entire song. Also, you can overstrum/overhit as many times as you need, so long as you hit every note. These can all be done in Quickplay, but if you have two of each controller, you can also set up a Tug of War match for them. In Tug of War, you only have to play about half of the song.
Several songs have relatively easy guitar solos. You might try “Shoot to Thrill” or “You Shook Me All Night Long” first. For bass, most of the songs are fairly easy. “TNT” is one that most people find easiest, but make sure that you don't use the solo buttons in the Big Rock Ending, as that counts against upstrumming only. Drums isn't too difficult either. Most people recommend “You Shook Me All Night Long” or “Money Talks.” Also, you can avoid activating your Overdrive on drums so that more of the chart is covered in fill sections. Vocals will probably be the most difficult. The only songs I've been able to pull off on vocals were “Money Talks” and “You Shook Me All Night Long,” and I had to use the Tug of War trick on them.
Oi! Oi! Oi!
Score 100% notes hit as a bassist, upstrums only, on Expert.
By now, you should be left with one last achievement. We need to go into multiplayer for that.
To get this last achievement, you need two guitars, a drum set, an Xbox 360 controller and a microphone. Simply plug all these instruments into your console and enter into a multiplayer mode. After getting to the song select screen, your achievement will pop. No extra effort required! Also, note that this has to be done locally, as there is no online multiplayer in this game.
And that's the end of AC/DC Live Rock Band Track Pack! Congratulations! Now put in your export code on Xbox LIVE, download the 18 songs to play them on other Rock Band titles and chuck the disc in the recycle bin. There's no real reason to go back to it at this point.
