Scarab Forest

Forest 1 (0:07)

Villagers 1 and 2 are unmissable here. Shortly after you get the 8-bit upgrade, you’ll reach a narrow tunnel that you have to derez yourself back to a pixel with cn_B to get through. On the other side, you’ll see Villager 3 above you. Go to the next screen and circle back to the left on the top path to grab the villager. You’ll unlock Hide ‘n Seek after this first level for your first ‘perfect’ level completion.

Forest 2 (3:17)

Just after destroying the first set of purple blocks by derezzing next to them, you’ll reach a vertical room. As you go up, look for a single purple block on the left. Deres next to it to break it, and head inside as the pixel to get Villager 1. Soon you’ll pass a checkpoint and go over a long set of falling blocks above spikes. In the very next room, head up and look for an upper path with purple blocks. Wall-jump up the shaft on the left to get up there and follow that upper path to reach Villager 2. Later, you’ll pass a checkpoint and fall to the bottom of a vertical room. The bottom has spikes on the far-left wall. The next room has a bee floating above. You should be a pixel at this point, so use the blue guy to become 8-bit you, leave, bounce off the bee onto to the wall, and wall jump your way up to Villager 3. If you kill the bee and fail, leave and re-enter to respawn it.

Forest 3 (6:14)

Head right, and make sure you’re the 8-bit version when you reach the red mushroom springs below the purple blocks. Bounce up and deres to break them and find Villager 1 above. A little while later, you’ll cross through a big horizontal room with spikes on the bottom in several spots. The last one requires you to deres to pass through a narrow gap on a moving platform. Just after the gap, you’ll see Villager 2 above. Bounce off the blue guy to return to 8-bit version, and wall jump to get him. Finally, you’ll pass through a horizontal room that has a chest surrounded by purple blocks on the far right side just before the exit. In the very next vertical room, once you reach the top of the ‘stairs’, don’t use the mushroom springs to exit. Instead, drop down to the right of them to reach a secret area with Villager 3.

Forest 4 (10:34)

The first time you encounter the slippery walls that you can’t hold onto for wall jumping, make your way to the top of the tree you’re in, and exit to the left rather than the right to find Villager 1. You can’t miss Villager 2, as you run right past her when making your way up another vertical tree with long lines of flame turrets imbedded in the floor and ceiling. Similarly, you will pass right by Villager 3 when bouncing your way up moving platforms with mushroom springs on them in the room with the exit at the top, so just make sure you land on his platform before you leave.

Forest 5 (14:16)

You’ll pass a checkpoint and reach a vertical room with mushroom springs. Bounce your way to the top as the pixel version so that you can use the final springs to bounce up and off of the two bees floating to the left, reaching a secret path to Villager 1. The higher bee is concealed by the secret path. Go right from Villager 1 two screens to a room with wall turrets and a moving wood platform. Ignore the platform, and drop down the left-hand side against the wall. You’ll pass through a secret path and get Villager 2. At the very next checkpoint, use deres to break a block and reveal a bounce pad to the right of the checkpoint. Switch to pixel form and bounce off the pad up into a secret area. Climb to the top and across to the right to find Villager 3.

Forest 6 (19:39)

Near the level start, you’ll need to bounce up three mushroom springs to continue to the right. Instead, bounce up to the left from the last one as pixel form to reach a secret area leading to Villager 1. Head right from Villager 1 to the next area, and instead of going up to continue on, go straight across to the right side of the room and drop down through a secret area beside the two mushroom springs to find Villager 2. Go up from Villager 2 to the top of the room, then all the way to the right until you reach another vertical room. As you’re dropping down the right side of this room, you’ll land on some falling blocks with the exit to your right. Instead, continue down this shaft to find Villager 3 beside two mushroom springs.

Forest 7 (22:38)

When you reach a vertical room with moving platforms that have spikes on their sides, look for a narrow hole on your right midway down, and go through in pixel form to find Villager 1. This is just above three sets of mushroom springs. The very next room will have a checkpoint and Villager 2 plainly visible. Go right from Villager 2 through an area with lots of falling blocks. In the next room, you’ll fall through some falling blocks down a vertical shaft. You should see the hole in the wall to your right as you fall. Use the blue enemy to become 8-bit, then deres to break the purple blocks, and bounce off the mushrooms as a pixel to get up to Villager 3.

Forest 8 (26:37)

Near the very beginning, you’ll pass through a room with falling blocks that you must jump across, above flame turrets in the ground below. Villager 1 is on the bottom-right of this room, behind the wall. The very next room has two yellow bees and lots of red spikes. Deres to pixel form, and bounce off both bees, holding cn_A to slowly float down the right-hand side and land on the ledge, where a secret path will lead to the next screen. Here, bounce off the blue enemy to your right and up into another secret path above to find Villager 2. You’ll pass right by Villager 3 as you climb up a few long strips of flame turrets shortly after that, so just make sure to jump over to the left from the uppermost platform in this room to grab him.

For the boss fight, go to the left at the start. Dodge her shot, bounce off the mushroom, and land on her head. Dodge a few easily-avoided shots (use mushrooms if need be for height, stay in pixel form). When the bee comes out, bounce off a mushroom, then off the bee, and land on her head a 2nd time. You may get hit by her rapid-fire attack at this point, but don’t sweat it. Bouncing on a mushroom in pixel form is the easiest way to dodge. If you’re in the middle, bounce off all three bees to reach her head. If on the side, just do mushroom-bee-bee, skipping the lowest one. The 3rd bounce on her head will end the fight. You’ll unlock Queen Grub Smashed immediately. If you have saved all 24 villagers in the forest levels, you will unlock Forest Folk Found when you hit the exit and it saves.

Swamp

Swamp 1 (31:59)

Villager 1 is a gimme when you learn get 16-bit form. Continue from there, and you’ll drop down through some sword blocks onto a checkpoint. Just to the right is a spiky enemy, and directly below him is a secret path. Deres yourself down to pixel form next to it to destroy the purple blocks, and drop down below to an area leading to Villager 2. Head up from Villager 2 into the very next area. Midway up, you’ll see two blue enemies with the villager up and to the right. You’ll have jump and hold cn_A to bounce off both and destroy the sword blocks, and then repeat the process to reach Villager 3. Hold hard right as you bounce off the 2nd, and try to bounce off the right side of him as far over as possible so that you get enough distance to reach the villager. After this level, before starting Swamp 2 (or as soon as possible when you have the funds), go to town and buy the Midas upgrade. Go to level 1-1 and keep bouncing off the infinitely respawning two flying enemies near the start to get enough gold for the pixel magnet upgrade, buy that too, and then carry on. You’ll unlock Power Up and these two upgrades will get you far more pixels as you speed through the rest of the game, cutting down on grinding later.

Swamp 2 (38:06)

Near the beginning, you’ll pass through a vertical room that requires you to move grey blocks as 16-bit form. At the very top of the room, before exiting to the right, look in the top left corner behind a wall for Villager 1. In the very next room, with the checkpoint, Villager 2 is to the right of the checkpoint. You must first go up and get powered back up to 16-bit form, then drop down and break the blocks to reach her. A short while later, you’ll reach another checkpoint after passing through a room with a long platform made of sword boxes. Use sword form on the upper left of the room to break the sword boxes and drop the grey box down, then head up through the secret path where it was to find Villager 3 by the exit.

Swamp 3 (41:48)

You’ll reach a room with a bunch of sword blocks near the beginning of the level, BEFORE the first checkpoint, with a blue guy right where you drop down into it. Head to the far right from where you enter, and break the sword blocks on the wall to reveal a secret room with Villager 1. Villager 2 is in the very next room on the top right. You’ll need to bounce off the highest mushrooms in pixel form, and then bounce off one of the higher birds flying by to reach him. A few rooms later, you’ll reach a checkpoint in a room with moving platforms. The exit is to the right just above the spike pit, but first, head up to the top of the room. You’ll need to go across some falling blocks to reach a secret alcove up top with Villager 3. This is right before the exit room.

Swamp 4 (46:12)

Villager 1 is in a hidden alcove right above the one with the grey block and switch that opens the door at the very beginning. A short while later, you’ll pass through a room with a bunch of spiky enemies and three grey blocks that you have to move out of your way. A couple rooms after that, you’ll enter and see Villager 2 plain as day on the top right. Bounce off the blue guy to get to him. In the very next room, you’ll be standing on sword blocks and see two sets of them up above you. From the right-hand side, hit JUST the right set of sword blocks on the ceiling, and then pull the grey block over and jump up there. Head across the room above, and drop down to reach Villager 3 by the exit.

Swamp 5 (52:14)

From the start, head all the way to the right, and drop down through a false floor. Down below, lure a bomb to the two sword blocks on the ceiling above the narrow gap to find Villager 1. A couple of rooms later, you’ll be crossing to the right over platforms made of sword blocks, with four bomb tunnels on the ceiling, two on each side. You can see Villager 2 in the middle. Lure a bomb over, and jump on it above the blocks to get her. Two rooms later, you’ll reach a checkpoint in a room with spiky enemies. The bottom-left corner of this room is a secret passage to Villager 3. You’ll need 16-bit’s sword to open the secret path. Just rush across the blocks in the room below as fast as you can before the bombs explode. Don’t worry if you get hit, and switch to pixel form for the last jump to float across the gap.

Swamp 6 (56:29)

Villager 1 is about 2 minutes into the level depending on your speed. In a room with a LONG spiky floor, you must ride a grey block all the way across the bottom, going over a few obstacles in the way. The villager is on the far right side of this spiked floor in a false wall. After Villager 1, you’ll pass two checkpoints. At the 2nd checkpoint, use 8-bit form to wall jump up a secret path up and to the immediate right above the checkpoint to reach Villager 2. In the very next room, you’ll reach yet another checkpoint. You’ll see Villager 3 to the right, just above a moving wall. Head up, then return and press the switch to move the wall so you can rush to the room’s exit.

Swamp 7 (1:02:58)

Head right from the start to the next room, where you have to climb up past some purple bullets. Bounce off one of the bullets up and to the left to a hidden room with Villager 1. Shortly after this, you’ll cross to the right through a room with loads of these purple bullets. There is a large red chest on a ledge in the top right corner at the end, above where you drop down. In the room directly below, deres to pixel form and go through a small gap on the bottom right to find Villager 2. After dropping down through two rapidly closing walls a couple of rooms later, you’ll exit to the right and see Villager 3 directly above you in the next room. It's very hard to miss. After finishing, you should have enough money by now to purchase your first extra heart at the item shop in town, so do that. You’ll unlock Thank You! Come Again! and Get A Life.

Swamp 8 (1:06:29)

After passing over some horizontal purple bullets near the start, you’ll see some more bullets firing directly up in a narrow shaft just to the right. Halfway up this shaft, on the left side, is a hidden room with Villager 1. The very next room has a checkpoint, and Villager 2 in a hidden room on the right-hand side. Quickly run through the ‘Indiana Jones’ style portion after this, and when you reach the next checkpoint, look to your immediate left for a hidden room with Villager 3. The boss fight is super easy. When it’s in its smaller form, hit the blue guys to get your sword and strike it. Quickly deres to pixel form and hide in the narrow gap in the bottom middle of the room, and wait until the boss gets large and shrinks back, then rinse and repeat two times. At the end of the fight, you’ll unlock Temple Heart Broken, and if you’ve saved all the villagers in the Swamp levels, you’ll unlock Swamp Squatters Saved.

Caves

Caves 1 (1:12:32)

After passing through a couple rooms, you’ll reach one with a blue guy between two vertical air currents. You can see Villager 1 on the bottom right. Bounce off the blue guy a couple times to become 16-bit version, and fall down through the right air current to get him. A few rooms later, you will see Villager 2 on the right just as you enter. You’ll likely be in pixel form and can either go down to become 8-bit, or just bounce off the purple bullets in pixel form to get her. When you enter a symmetrical room with two small chests at the top and horizontal air currents on either side of the central pillar, look for a small hole in the pillar to see Villager 3 peeking out. Kill the enemies first, and then slide down the side of the pillar to reach his hidden room.

Caves 2 (1:18:00)

A couple of rooms in, you’ll reach a vertical shaft with spikes coming out of the walls and two elevators side-by-side. Before going down, go straight across the top to a hidden room with Villager 1. Shortly after this, you’ll reach a checkpoint. Midway across this room, jump onto the ledge with a small chest, and slide down the side of it to reach a hidden room with Villager 2. If you reach the ledge with two small chests, you went too far. The very next room will have Villager 3 on the right side, behind three purple blocks. Bounce off the blue guy below them, and deres to break them and get to him. Assuming you’ve saved every villager up to now, you’ll unlock Lost & Found at the end.

Caves 3 (1:21:53)

In the very first room, you’ll see a blue guy below green spikes. Deres to pixel form, and bounce off the blue guy up into the narrow passage to the right. Then deres to pixel form to fly the air currents over to Villager 1. After passing the next checkpoint, you’ll enter a room with two fish below and a blue guy to the right. Make sure to use the blue guy to become 16-bit version and take the bottom-left exit from the room below to reach a hidden path leading to Villager 2. You’ll pass through a few underwater areas, passing another checkpoint en route, and reach a room with more moving elevators. You’ll see Villager 3 on the left side as you travel up. Very hard to miss. If you've been following along with this and purchased the Midas and Magnet abilities when I mentioned, you should unlock Pip, the Pixel Picker Upper around this time. You'll certainly unlock it by the end of the game, of course.

Caves 4 (1:29:35)

You’ll pass through some water currents right near the beginning and enter a room where you can plainly see Villager 1 on the top left. You’ll need to bounce off the water striders to get it, so if you miss, just exit and re-enter to respawn them. After you reach the next checkpoint, you’ll see Villager 2 in the upper left in the very next room. Bounce off the two blue guys and smack the bomb from the ceiling tube into the wall with your sword, then deres to a pixel, and fly up to the villager on the air current. You only get one shot at Villager 3. If you miss it, you’ll have to replay the level. When you come into the final room, you’ll have to deres to pixel form to go through a small gap right in front of where you enter. When you exit the gap, you’ll float up to the sloped ceiling. Steer one block’s width over to your right as you pass the corner above so that you clear the walls on the left and right, and your momentum will carry you up to the villager.

Caves 5 (1:33:08)

When you reach a room with a walking box at the bottom and lots of green spikes, you’ll need to head right and use the switch to lower the spikes first. Use 16-bit version to push the box onto the switch to the left. Go to the top-right corner of the room, and hit the switch there to raise the water. Hit the middle switch again so the path to Villager 1 is spike-free and grab him. Soon after this, you’ll swim up through a vertical room, passing three fish. At the top you’ll see one blue guy to the right by the exit and two to the left. Go to the two to the left and kill them. Then break the sword blocks and fall down to a hidden area leading to Villager 2 by a checkpoint. Make sure when you deres to pixel form and float up a narrow passage that you let it carry you all the way up, and don’t exit it too early to the left. When you reach the next checkpoint, you’ll see an air current above you. Use the blue guy to the right of the current to change to 16-bit form, and then jump left and slightly down across the current to a hidden room with Villager 3.

Caves 6 (1:39:32)

You’ll reach a room about a minute in with a large air current to the right, leading to the exit. You’ll see Villager 1 directly left of the exit. Just use pixel form and float up the air current, then left holding cn_A to reach him. You’ll see Villager 2 directly in front of you in the next room, at the checkpoint. Villager 3 is hard to miss, right above you when you reach the exit room. You’ll have to bounce off the blue guy in the middle, deres to pixel form at the peak of your bounce, and hold cn_A to float over to the mushrooms. Bounce off of them, and then off of the upper bird and over to the villager.

Caves 7 (1:43:57)

Villager 1 is to your right at the very beginning, in a hidden room. You’ll have to go down below and circle back from the right to reach her. Shortly after that, you’ll swim down through a tunnel with green spikes above and below and have to deres to pixel form to clear a narrow gap. In the very next room, there is a checkpoint and Villager 2 at the top of the room. Deres to pixel form and use your momentum floating up to reach him. There’s a blue guy here if you miss so you can switch back to 8-bit, sink, and try again. You’ll swim up over green spikes in the next room, and in the very next one after that, you’ll see Villager 3 to your right as you enter. Just sink down to him once you pass over the central pillar.

Caves 8 (1:47:57)

Villager 1 is in the 2nd room. Just bounce off the blue guys to reach her. Villager 2 is in the very next room, visible as you enter. You’ll need to go to the right first, past the water currents and the spike blocks. Once you exit the water, go up to the left for a hidden path back over to a grey block and blue guy. Use him to return to 16-bit form and push the block off the ledge and over to the villager. Jump off it and break the sword blocks to reach her. The very next room has Villager 3 on the top left. Make sure you’re in 8-bit form and swim up there. Bounce off of the water strider, then off the blue guy and over to the sword blocks. Make sure you get a good bounce off the blue guy so that you break the blocks close to the top, allowing yourself time to fall over onto the ledge where the villager is. If you bounce too low, you’ll break the blocks but won’t have any way to get up to him with the water strider already dead. Just exit the room and re-enter to try again if you fail.

For the boss fight, stay on the platforms, and kill all of the enemies in 8-bit form. When you’re down to the last enemy, kill it, and quickly use a blue guy to return to 16-bit form. Then sink to the bottom of the water. The boss will fall down and open up, revealing its weak point for you to strike. Repeat this process twice more, each time with more enemies. Just make sure when you’re ready to kill the final enemy that you’re prepared to sink to the bottom quickly so you don’t miss your chance to strike. You’ll unlock Cragken Cracked for defeating it, and Caves Captives Captured if you’ve rescued every villager on these levels.

Lava

Lava 1 (1:53:44)

Near the start, you’ll pass through an area with flaming boulders falling from above. Use 16-bit form to push the grey block over to the right and jump up to Villager 1. Soon, you’ll reach a checkpoint, and on the far right side of this room, you’ll see Villager 2. Very hard to miss. Quickly go up the falling blocks and deres to break the purple blocks to reach her. The next checkpoint you come to will have a hidden room directly above it in the floating rock platform. Go over to the right in pixel form, and then bounce off the blue guy and wall jump up. Cross over to the left and slide down the left side of the platform above the checkpoint to reach said hidden room and Villager 3.

Lava 2 (1:57:19)

In the 2nd room you come to, before going down the large falling wall with the burning guy on it, look for a hidden room to your right with Villager 1. The very next room will have a checkpoint and Villager 2 visible as you enter. Go to the room after that and use the blue guy to return to 16-bit version. Then return to break the sword blocks and get the villager. When you reach the next checkpoint, use the blue guy to return to 16-bit version if you aren’t, and break the sword blocks hidden in the wall to the right of the checkpoint to reveal a hidden path with Villager 3.

Lava 3 (2:01:42)

Villager 1 is to the far right in the very first room. You’ll have to avoid hitting the flying enemy near him, lure it over, and bounce off of it to get to him. After passing a checkpoint from here, you will reach a 2nd checkpoint in a room with horizontal air currents and flame turrets on the ceiling above the first air current. The very next room after that is a vertical room with a vertical air current. Reach the top part of the room and push a grey block off its ledge so that you can place it on a switch to unblock the current. The block that moves off of the current creates a platform to the right for you to wall jump from, up into a hidden path leading to Villager 2. You will see Villager 3 in a small hole in the wall below you when you reach the exit room. Head down there and wall-jump in 8-bit form to reach him.

Lava 4 (2:06:49)

Near the start, you’ll reach a room with a floating platform in lava at the top, sword blocks in the middle, and falling walls down below. When you reach the bottom of the room, deres to pixel form, and go into a narrow hidden tunnel on the left for Villager 1. The next two villagers require you to suicide after getting one. This is the only time in the game you have to do this. You’ll reach a checkpoint with two small chests directly above it. In the very next room, use the flying purple guys to freeze the lava and make your way up. Take the first right-hand exit you come to midway up the room. Make your way to the right to reach Villager 2 and grab him, then suicide back to the checkpoint. This time, continue all the way up to the top of the rising lava room, again using the purple flying guys to freeze it as needed, and exit to the right. Continue right across the next room to find Villager 3 above the next checkpoint.

Lava 5 (2:12:17)

A short way into the level, you’ll go up a vertical room. At the top you’ll see one purple flying guy, a blue guy, and five purple floating rounded enemies. Wall jump off the left side here to reach a small hidden room in the upper-left corner for Villager 1. You’ll soon reach a checkpoint. In the very next room, you’ll have to use well-timed kills on the purple guy to freeze two tall pillars of lava. Once you pass him, and before exiting to the left, look on your right for a hidden room with four lava pits and Villager 2 in it. Soon you’ll be going up another vertical room and will have to go up a few stairs with air currents trying to push you off to the right. You’ll see Villager 3 near the top, just before the narrow shaft that you wall-jump through to exit. You can grab the villager and still have time to make it to the exit before the rising lava reaches you. If you die, don’t worry, as the villager saves even if you die.

Lava 6 (2:15:53)

Near the start, you’ll pass over some lava and pass several blue guys. You’ll need to derez to break some purple blocks to the right. You can use the bomb below, but it’s easier to make sure you get your 16-bit form again from the blue guy before dropping down. Just below the bomb tunnel are some sword blocks (the exit) and a hidden room to the left of that behind more sword blocks. Break them to reach the room and villager 1. If you reach a checkpoint, you went too far. Continue on from the 1st checkpoint, and when you reach the next checkpoint, check to the immediate left for a hidden room with Villager 2. You’ll probably have to bounce off one of the red bullets below to reach it. Two rooms after the 2nd checkpoint, you’ll have to climb to the top and push a grey block off a ledge. You’ll see Villager 3 to the left of the grey block, very hard to miss.

Lava 7 (2:19:47)

In the room right after the first checkpoint, climb up through all the blue beams and fire turrets. Make sure to take the narrow gap to the left in pixel form as fast as you can. When you hit the vertical air current, push to the right as you come up to shift over a square or two, then immediately start tapping the left thumbstick down to drop through all the beams and reach Villager 1. The very next room has two blue guys and a large falling wall. You’ll see Villager 2 below you as you enter. When you get down level with her, just jump over through the false wall to reach her. Soon after, you’ll reach a long horizontal room with moving lava at the bottom. Near the end of the room will be a walking grey block. Use 16-bit form to stun him and push him under the middle shaft above while the lava is down. Deres to 8-bit form to wall jump up into this shaft and reach Villager 3.

Lava 8 (2:23:05)

When you reach the 1st checkpoint, you’ll see the villager peeping through a small hole beneath you. Just drop down into the false wall to get her. In the very next room, midway down you’ll see a small hole in a large square platform between fire turrets. Just walk through the middle of this platform from the blue beam to the side before dropping down to reach Villager 2. In the very next room, you’ll get another checkpoint. Midway across you’ll see Villager 3 up on a ledge above the moving lava. Use 8-bit form to wall-jump up to him, and wait for the lava to lower down before carrying on.

For the boss fight, you’ll need to stay jumping or holding onto the side walls in 8-bit form the entire time, as the central platform drops down into the lava if you stand on it. Wait for the boss to do a swiping attack with its arm and jump over it. After this, it will lean away from the side its hand ended up on at the end of the swipe, exposing its weak point on the head. Bounce off the blue guy or wall jump off the wall on that side to jump onto its head and damage it. The first time you do, it will drop a block near the ledge, which you can quickly push off before resuming your jumping. The second time you damage him, the block will fall further from the ledge, so you’ll have to push it some, jump onto the wall to let the platform rise back up, and then push it off the rest of the way. When you jump on his head the third time, the fight ends, and you unlock Lord Magmalith Mastered. If you saved all the villagers in these levels, you’ll also unlock Lava Lodgers Located.

Castle

Castle 1 (2:29:12)

A couple of rooms in, you will reach a room with four walls that lower from the ceiling. You’ll see Villager 1 up above when you enter. Make your way to the far right by carefully running under them in 8-bit form. You’ll need to hit the grey guy below the first one to stop it, as you can’t get past it fast enough otherwise. Once you reach the far right, wall-jump up through a hidden path to circle back to the villager. After making your way up through a vertical room full of bomb tubes on the sides, you’ll enter a room with three mushrooms in front of you and a blue guy to the upper right. Stand just right of the mushrooms and wall jump off the left wall above you, jumping quickly off the falling blocks to the right and back over into the wall for a hidden room with Villager 2. After making your way through a large room with several levels of moving spiked blocks, you’ll enter the next room and see Villager 3 below you as soon as you drop down. Carefully jump over to the 2nd bomb tube ledge on the right after killing its bomb, then jump back to the left and destroy the sword blocks, falling onto the villager’s ledge quickly before falling down below.

Castle 2 (2:34:45)

Near the beginning, you’ll pass over a pool of water with three water striders in it. You can see Villager 1 peeking out a window to the right. Just deres to pixel form and walk to the right to grab her. After passing the next checkpoint, you’ll enter a room with moving mushroom platforms and an orange 4-way turret. Deres to pixel form, bounce off the mushroom platform, and bounce off the orange turret to get enough height. Float over to the left with cn_A to the hidden room with Villager 2 above where you entered. A short while later, you’ll pass another checkpoint and through a room or two before reaching a room with the moving, hanging elevator-type platforms. Hop onto the first one, and you’ll see Villager 3 come out of hiding on another. Jump onto the 2nd platform before the 1st one falls, then from there onto the one with the villager in it, before she gets too far away.

Castle 3 (2:39:57)

After making your way up the first vertical room with green spikes, you’ll enter a horizontal room with lava. Deres to pixel form and bounce off one of the red flying enemies to reach the ledge above with Villager 1 plainly visible. Soon after that, you’ll reach a room with a bunch of sword blocks to break as you make your way down. You’ll see Villager 2 peeking out of a small window to the left of the grey walking block that has four buttons near it. Just deres to 8-bit form and wall jump up to the villager from the ledge below. In the next room, you’ll make your way up through a vertical shaft, using the purple enemies to freeze lava. When you reach the top and see four moving walls in the lava to your right, leading to the exit, deres to pixel form and bounce off the red flying enemies up through the narrow gap above. Go left to find Villager 3.

Castle 4 (2:44:32)

The 2nd room you come to has a mushroom platform moving at the bottom. Deres to pixel form and bounce off of it up onto the small ledge above, beside the blue guy. Villager 1 is up here in a hidden alcove to the left. You’ll see Villager 2 plainly visible in a room full of flaming guys walking in circles around various-shaped platforms. Just carefully wall jump up onto the middle one, avoiding the enemies, and then jump over to her. Soon after this, you’ll make your way up a vertical room. At the top of the room, three flaming boulders will be continuously dropping down. Deres to pixel form and go through the small gap to the right before exiting to get Villager 3, the final villager in the game!

The boss fight here is rather simple, and with the upgrades you should have by now, it shouldn’t be a struggle, even though it’s kinda tough to dodge her attacks sometimes. Stay in pixel form to dodge her attacks, then use the blue guys to switch to 8-bit and punch her. After the third punch, she’ll change forms and begin her ‘ultra mode’ attacks. For the falling boulders, just move around. When she flies to the side and shines yellow, stay on top of the highest step or down beside the lowest step in pixel form to dodge her big purple laser. Again, use the blue guys to switch to 8-bit form once they appear. Now, though, you can’t punch her. You must jump up beside her and deres to damage her. Do this three times and her 2nd form will be defeated, unlocking Queen DeRezzed.

Things aren’t over just yet. Exit to the right for a checkpoint, then right again for a chase sequence. Hit the blue guy to switch to 8-bit and start running to the right. Don’t stop for anything. The platforming here is extremely simple so I won’t belittle you with a pixel-by-pixel instruction set. Just keep moving right, and you should be fine. When you reach the purple blocks at the end, bounce off the blue guy so that you go up and over near the purple blocks as 16-bit version. Derez to break them and fall to your right. Keep going right as fast as you can before they break from under you. Jump up into the Queen and derez once more to defeat her for good. You’ll unlock All Pixels Have Been Restored for finishing the game. Assuming you’ve saved every villager in the game, you’ll unlock DeRezzia’s Prisoners Released for the ones in the Castle levels, and found ‘Em All for getting every villager in the game.

Check the shop in town, and see how much you need to buy the rest of the upgrades and any remaining hearts you haven't purchased. If you've been speeding through the levels and relying on Midas + Magnet to make money, you'll probably need to grind around 20,000 pixels give or take. Just load up level 1-1 and keep killing the first two flying enemies over and over, as they respawn infinitely. Or you could speed through some of the lava and castle levels, as you tend to make 1-2k per run on those. Once you've purchased all of the items and hearts, you'll unlock the final two achievements: The More The Better, and Pip the Heartthrob.
