Phase 1 involves a fair amount of building and unlocking of land to build on. This is expensive in terms of gold and the most time consuming part of the game. Luckily here's a very simple setup to maximize your gold production! Here it is in detail:
- 9 x Sections of unlocked land
- 1 x HQ
- 1 x Acropolis (*One will be provided free of charge)
- 24 x Wheat Farm
- 150 x Ornate Road
- 3 x Water Fountain
- 5 x Vase
- 8 x Centaur Statue
- 10 x Big Park
- 1 x Greek Garden (*Do not purchase with gems, this is a reward at level 18)
- 17 x Small Gazebo
- 20 x Hearth
- 2 x Chariot Statue
- 71 x Arch
You can build it in any order you choose. As this is the first thing you will be building you will likely have to build parts of it then move them into place once you unlock enough land. Start with boosting the HQ and placing Wheat Farms with Ornate Road boosters between them to get rolling as quickly as possible. Then follow the pattern shown in the image which will net you: 3,920 gold every 30 minutes from the HQ and 16,283 gold every minute from the Wheat Farms. That's nearly 1million gold per hour. There are other setups which can be more profitable overall. The reason for this setup is that it combines profitability with pure laziness. A single click on the Acropolis will harvest all the Wheat Farms at once for ease of play.
The above will unlock the following achievements:
Collect 500 coins from your headquarters
A note about Macros
It is possible to create a macro to handle the monotonous task of clicking on the Acropolis once every 60 seconds. I would, however, not recommend attempting this method. The game has two "features" that may cause it to backfire and spend actual money. First is that random "flash sales" will appear with a full screen pop-over ad which your macro would then start clicking. The second is when there are specific types of sales there's a chariot on a cloud which travels across the play area slowly and could easily be clicked by accident, bringing up a gem purchase screen.
A note on Population
Population is what you use to build more buildings. Luckily, thanks to Boosters, you actually don't need a lot of it. 3-5 Homesteads surrounded by 7% Arch Boosters is more than enough for most setups. A single Homestead with 7% boosts all the way around will unlock
