7. Anima: Gate of Memories 5th Wing

5th Wing

5th Wing

Head to the 5th wing door. It's the east door on the 2nd floor. On the left side you'll find a Life Soul. You'll have to face 2 dullahans, and then 3 memory knights. The process is mostly the same, stay away from them and shoot them with Magic Bolt. Try to get both Dullahans right by each other. If you have the AoE upgrade for Magic Bolt, the AoE will destroy the a lot of the Dullahan's missiles, meaning you can just spam Magic Bolt until they die. For the memory knights, Magic Bolt will destroy their bolts, but it's hard to keep all 3 bunched up to do this, so you'll have to concentrate on one or two while you keep an eye on the other and do your best to dodge their attacks. Once they're dead go through the west door.

Temple Altar

Temple Altar

Go straight ahead and get the winter rune on the pillar. To your right you'll see an item, it's a Life Fragment. If you face the pillar from the side the item was on, you'll see another item to the right, it's a Life Soul. You can find another Life Fragment behind a pillar, in the northeast corner of the area. The last item is behind the Spring portal, which is the southern portal on the map. It's a War Core. For now head into the Winter portal, which is on the east side of the map. Go up to it, use it to activate it, and then go inside.

First Trial

First Trial

In here go forward until you see a stone block on the right. Jump on top of it and them jump to the platform above it. You'll see a switch ahead and a Life Fragment outside to the left. Hit the switch, then stand where the life fragment was and turn straight around. Go forward and fall down, then turn around and hit the switch in front of you. Turn around and jump onto the stone block, and then jump back up. Go forward and look for an opening in the wall on the right. You'll see some stone blocks, jump up them to reach the Prison Key at the top. Now go to the winter portal, use the stone brick we lowered with the first switch to reach it.

Winter

Winter First Visit

In this area go forward, you'll have to face 3 noths at once. As always, stay away from them and blast them with magic. Once they're dead you can find a Life Fragment in the southwest corner of the area. Now head northwest. When you can go northwest or northeast go northwest to find a Life Anima and the Strange mask again. Now head northeast to find a Magic Soul in an alcove. From here go west and just past the path going south you'll see some rocks on the left side you can climb. Or maybe not, they don't look special, but you can climb them anyway. Jump up to find a new place. Go forward to find a Magic Soul, and jump across the gap. Go forward to find a Druaga Memory. A bunch of the flying fish will spawn, blast them away. Head to the south side of this place, and you'll see an opening in the cliff. Stand on the edge and look left, you'll see a platform with Spring Envy, grab it.

Return to the area with the 3 noths (you can just drop down from where the Spring Envy is) and go east this time. Go east at the fork and follow the path to a Red Jewel. Return to the fork and go north for a miniboss, the Procasian. His two basic attacks are swiping once at you, or breathing fire. It may also roar, and then charge at you. His last attack is punching the ground, which creates an explosion where you are. The first two can be dodged by simply staying away. Dodge left or right to avoid his charge. If he hits a wall it stuns him and you can get a bunch of free shots, but he stops after a bit of running if he hits nothing. For the punching, you have to dodge right when the explosion starts to avoid it. The timing kind of sucks, and as he loses health he does more punches in a row. Once he's dead go north into the next area, immediately turn right to find a Armor Core. Go straight north to find the Autumn Rune. Return to the Temple Altar and use the autumn rune to open the autunm portal, and go in.

Second Trial

Second Trial

Go to the east side of the room to find a Life Soul. Return to the entrance and jump on the only block on the ground, and use it to reach a switch across a few more stone blocks, his the switch. It lowers a stone block north and to the west, use it to jump up to a platform and reach another switch. It moves a block south of you, which reveals a door. Hit the first switch again and then go through the door we revealed. Up the stairs and then you can jump out the hole to the right to reach a stone block, and then jump across some more to reach a switch, hit it. Hit the first switch again. The block north and west of you went down again, and you need to jump on it and jump up the blocks above to the south to reach a new platform. Go to the end of it and jump on the block below so you can jump out the window to the right. Go left for a Druaga Memory, and then go right for a Mikael Ring. Use the Autumn door, which is on the third floor you just jumped down from.

Autumn

To start head west and then south, but note there's a ton of blade traps on the way, so you'll need to be careful. Some won't activate until you try to cross them, which means you have to dodge past them or jump over them. At the end of the path is a Defense Anima. Return to the fork and go west. You'll see a bunch of pillars, you need to arrange them to open the door to an item. Stand on the south side, facing the 2 big faces on the stone wall. Each pillar has 5 possible positions. These are the positions they should be in. A door will open between the faces with a Druaga Memory in it.

Once you have it head along the path going north, and then go east and follow the path south to an item with a bunch of spike traps. You'll need to double jump over the waves of spikes to reach the eternal sands item. With that go back to the previous area and go north instead. Take the path on the right to get a Ki Soul, and then when the paths meet and you can go south, do so. You'll get an Igniting Glare on the way, and the Spring Rune. On your way back a bunch of those eyes will spawn. You can kill them with one Magic Beam still. A bunch will spawn, and you can't really dodge left or right to avoid them like you usually would, or you'll land in the water. You have to walk up and down the platform and shoot them to avoid the shots, so it's really important that you kill one or two when they first spawn to make it easier. Once they're dead return to the Temple Altar and go through the winter portal. Head to the Winter area and move forward, the spring door will go down. Go through, jump on the stone pillar, and jump up to the platform above from the top of it. To the right is a Life Fragment, to the south is an alcove with a Life Soul. Go north and follow the path. You'll have a choice between going west or south, go south and grab the Gnome Mask (I find the ice elemental annoying as hell, so I just avoided it). Now go back to that fork and go west. You'll have to fight a Nexus Guardian. It blocks most magic, and can also block melee attacks, so this boss is pretty dumb. The simple way to fight it is to use Light Holocaust. You'll need the second upgrade for it to make it faster. Just wait for him to attack, then use Light Holocaust. If you don't have it, Energy Ray with the 2nd level upgrade works too. You wait until he attacks, then charge up to level 3 and blast him, it can't be blocked. The downside to the LH is that the explosion makes it hard to see if the boss uses an attack afterward. The downside to the Ray is that you have to charge it up, which takes longer than casting light holocaust, so you are more likely to be interrupted.

As for its attacks, it can throw a bolt with its shield, if you are fairly close it will hit, so be ready to dodge. It may raise it's hand, and will call down an ice explosion where you are, like Nascal's explosion. Dodge out of it. It may slam its sword down shooting 3 waves, dodge away from it. Basically wait for it to do one of these and then hit it with the spell you have. LH is preferred, in my opinion. Though you'll likely grab it in the chaos of the fight, on the north side of this area is a Life Fragment. Once he's dead head through the portal to the west. Return to Arcane. Talk to Helmet to get a Kusanagi No Kiba from him, and an achievement.

Now head to the Mansion Basement. Use the entrance in the actual mansion, not the portal. It's the south exit in the main body. Go north and through the water door to find the Strange again, talk to him. Since we're here, we now have enough keys to free everyone. If you've been following the guide, you have 3 left. That'll be Tribal in the top row, and Monster/Ghost in the bottom row, you'll get an achievement when you free the last one.

Breaker of Chains

Free all Prisoners.

You can find a Pertho Staff in the southeast corner of the map, which you saw from the scene after rescuing the 8th prisoner. It gives an incredible boost to magic, so you should equip it on the Bearer immediately. Return to Winter via the portal and head to the Temple Altar, and go in the Spring portal after activating it.

Third Trial

No map, this is another area with multiple levels that don't show up on the map.

You can talk to the Tribal mask but it's not necessary. Jump on the block to your left and then jump on the platform to the south. Hit the switch and then jump on the block to the north, and then the platform to the south. Go to the end and hit the switch. Now jump down and hit the first switch you hit. Now head to the east side. Jump on the block in the northeast corner and then on the platform to the south. Hit the switch behind the block, then jump on it. Jump on the platform above to the south, then the block above, and then another one. You'll see a block in the air to the west, jump on it, and then double jump to that platform with the item you see to the northeast for a Vitra. Return to the block in the air, and jump to the next one to the west. Now you need to jump to the block straight west, and a tad north. Then you can jump to the block to the north, the one to the south, and then to a platform. Head to the end and jump on the block to the east. Hit the switch to the east, and then jump across to the east side. Hit the switch to the north, and then jump on the blocks to the south, and then to the block above to the west. Jump on the platform to the east, and go to the end for a Life Fragment. Now jump to the platform above to the west. Jump to the platform to the west. Go to the end and look down, you'll see a Noah Ring, fall down and grab it. Drop down to the platform to the south. Go south and then east to the blocks, hit the switch between the 2 blocks and rush up. You need to make it back to where we dropped down for the Noah Ring. A stone block will be coming down and then going back up, you need to get there in time to jump on top of it and then jump to the Druaga Memory. Once you have it you can go through the Spring portal.

Spring

No map.

You'll see portals throughout, one for each season. You need go through them in this order : Winter (snowflake) Autumn (black leaf) Summer (Sun) Spring (Green Leaf). A Druaga Memory will appear by the Winter portal, grab it. This should be the last memory, giving you an achievement.

Now you want to go all the way back to the Temple Altar and take the winter portal. Go north to the big area and then go east and then north. You'll have to face a Noth and 2 ice elementals, kill the Noth quickly. Then trade Magic Beams or Energy Cutter with the ice elementals until they're dead, then go north to the Core. Open the door and waltz in.

Druaga Core

For this boss, it has two forms. One form can only be fought by Bearer, and one can only be fought by Ergo. When you switch characters the boss changes forms. They both have their own life bars, and if you kill one form and don't kill the other fast enough, it revives with some health. So you need weaken one form until it's almost dead, then switch characters and kill the other form, and then switch back to your first character and kill that form quickly. Its attacks are pretty standard. It can touch the ground, sending a homing fire missile at you, it moves slow and you can dodge away from it. It can throw 2 waves of energy straight forward, easily dodged. It can charge at you, and then jump into the air and land on you. Both the charge and the jump damage you (much like Nameless), though the charge is pretty fast and can be hard to dodge. Finally, it can summon lightning, though it only seems to do this against Bearer. Strategy is the same as usual, blast it from far away with Magic Bolt. Dodge away every time he charges, and then dodge again to avoid the slam. Back away and repeat. Also watch out when he...roars or whatever. He starts spamming the ground slam and other attacks much faster for about 5-10 seconds. Once he's dead you'll be back in the Arcane with an achievement.

Progress the story to unlock this achievement.
