8. Anima: Gate of Memories Endings and NG+

Head to the 2nd wing, and take the long way around to the floating blocks. Hit the green gem here, and then rush across the floating blocks, and instead of landing at the exit to the inner chamber, you want to jump to the floating platforms to the left. They disappear quickly, so you have to be quick. Once you make it, hit the green gem and then use the floating block behind you to reach the Mesuguis Brooch. Eyes will spawn on the way, blast them as soon as they show up. Hit the green gem to make the platforms appear again and then leave. Head to the 1st wing now, and instead of going to the mansion go straight ahead. Look for the purple gems and use them, and then enter the missing wing.

Missing Wing

No map.

Straight ahead you'll find a Soul Fragment. Now let the fun begin. Go forward and jump on the platform. You'll see a platform moving ahead, and a platform with spikes. You need to jump to the one with spikes and then the one that is moving. Then you need to jump to a moving platform from this one. Then land on a stationary one, then jump across 2 spike blocks to a stationary one. Then jump on a moving spike one, then a stationary one. Jump on the moving one, and then use the fast moving one to get to a fast moving one, and then a stationary one. Move to the fast moving one, hit the switch, jump on the stationary, then jump on the other fast one and take that to the platforms, and rush across them to a platform with the Raphael Ring. If any point you fall, you start the beginning. Yeehaw. Once you have the ring purposely fall to reach the beginning, and then leave. Return to the Arcane Core, we're going to do the endings and then move on to NG+

It's VERY important you save your game in 3 different save slots. Since the game automatically overwrites your save as you progress, you can't get all the endings with one save file. Once you finish the game on a save file, the game will save and then you can only start NG+ from that save file. I'd go ahead and just save in all 5 slots, so you have backups.

We won't be going into NG+ with the first 2 endings, so don't worry about getting any items until I mention it again. Once you've saved, head up to the 2nd floor, and open one of the doors with 4 purple gems by it to end up in Nowhere again. Go forward and jump across the platforms and go in the door. You'll be back in the Arcane Core, but on the 3rd floor. You want to enter The Void, which is the north door on this floor. Inside you'll see a stone thing in the distance. You need to run toward it. While you do, a ton of energy beam things pop up and try to hit you. Some come from the sky, and some are ground level. I find the lack of...anything messes with my perspective, so I just dodged/ran as best as I could and headed to the stone thing and used healing items as needed. Once you reach it you'll be kicked out. Reenter and then go up to each of the roman numerals and activate them. You'll then have a boss fight.

He generally starts with an attack like Arcane Summon. A bunch of bolts appear and they'll fly at you one by one very quickly, it's hard to dodge. I generally get hit at least one. He can also shoot his Dark Beam and can use his version of the Air Beam too. He has some melee combos, and the longer one ends with him jumping into the air and slamming down, which has a big radius (you can just dodge when it happens to avoid damage though). Another "fun" wrinkle to this fight is a lot of the time, when a Beam hits him it won't do damage, and he teleports away. I use Magic Beam quite a bit in the video but you probably want to use Energy Cutter instead, since it will go through his Dark Beam. Later in the fight he'll use the Arcane Summon skill much more often. He'll also have periods of time when he does this claw attack, where he throws those cross waves of energy at you. You have to dodge left or right to avoid them. In the video I used Light Holocaust after I dodged the waves, but Energy Cutter would probably be better. Once he's dead you'll get an achievement.

Load one of your other saves. Head to the portal chamber and use the one door you haven't used to go fight Nameless, just go up the stairs. His moveset is almost entirely the same, except with one really, really stupid caveat. He starts the battle with an attack you can't avoid that removes almost all your health. In the video I just take it like an idiot, but you should actually switch to Ergo so he takes the damage. Nameless will use this attack again throughout the fight, so when he starts floating into the air, make sure to switch to Ergo. It won't kill you if you're low, it just takes you down to basically no HP. Other than that, he uses the same moves. The only variation from his old moveset is his beam attack from the rocks above, this time it's three bolts and they aren't shot as fast, I would shoot one Magic Beam and then dodge the bolts, then repeat until he stopped. Once you beat Nameless you get an achievement. Make sure to grab his sword, Dark Omen. It's the sword on the ground, but has no glow or flame to indicate an item to be had. I didn't get it (or even know about it) and still got the achievement but why not grab it?

Now head back to the Arcane Core and talk to Romeo and choose the obey option after all the talking. Head to The Void on the 3rd floor and beat the boss again (I didn't notice any difference in the fight at all).

Load another of your saves now. We're going into NG+ with this ending, so we've got some things to do before we finish the game and move on to NG+. There's a Velez Seal in the middle of the 3rd floor, so grab that. Head into the Throne Room, which is the southeast door. Head up the path to the throne, and grab the Aegis behind it. Now head into The Void and do the projectile gauntlet until you're thrown out, but DO NOT GO BACK IN. Instead, head to the Lost Tomb, which is the southwest exit on the 3rd floor. You'll see an Apocrytus ahead, grab it. A Procasian will spawn. He has the same attacks as usual, the only catch is his lock on point is his chest instead of his head, so spamming magic bolt won't work. Instead, dodge an attack and hit him with upgraded Light Holocaust, or use Energy Cutter. Repeat until it dies. A memory knight will spawn, same strategy as usual. A Black Djinn will spawn next, just spam Magic Bolt until it dies. Now you can leave.

Head to Romeo and this time choose to oppose him. This boss has 4 attacks. She'll shoot 2 homing bolts, dodge away from them. She'll also use her 5 bolt attack, just walk right or left. The other is floating in the air and throwing bolts, you can just spam your own bolts to destroy hers and hurt her. Her final one is a huge horizontal wave that goes forward from her. You can dodge through this. Once you have her low enough you'll face a new enemy.

For the new boss, he has a few attacks. He can throw a sword at you, which will appear above him before it's thrown. Best dodged by running left or right. He can summon a sword from the sky, which will paint a beam on you right before it comes down, you have to move out of the way. He may teleport close to you and hit you with his sword, when he does this back off. Another attack occurs when he teleports to the middle of the arena and creates a bunch of lasers. These circle around the room. His other attacks can occur during this, so you need to keep moving. Jump over the lasers and keep moving left or right to avoid his other attacks. As his HP decreases, he uses more of an attack at once. For example, the sword beam becomes 3, then it becomes 10 or some shit. Same for the beam sword. He also uses them much more often as he gets weaker. The last wrinkle to this fight is when Romeo gets low enough (seemed like 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 health) the previous boss will spawn and heal him, and you'll need to hit her a few times to get her to go away. Once he's dead (achievement!), return to Arcane Core and talk to Eli.

Sanctuary of Origin

Sanctuary of Origin

You'll be teleported to a new area. Sorry for the big map, it's a huge area. Turn around and go around the blue portal to find the Strange mask for the Angelus weapon, and an achievement.

Memory of Legends

Obtain the Angelus.

Memory of Legends
1 guideOffline Game ModeSingle Player

The Angelus weapon is very useful, equip it. Straight east of the portal is a Life Soul. Use the north exit to the next area. Go forward and you'll have to kill all the enemies in the time limit. You start with a bunch of light/dark casters, then 2 memory knights, and finally a living nightmare. Once they're dead, the outer ring has a Magic Soul to the northwest from the center. Head west to a new area. You have to face Noth and the red exploding guys, and can't use Ki skills. Blast them with magic. You can find a Ki Soul on the west edge of the circle. Now return to the previous area and go east this time. Go forward to the trial, this time you can't use magic. You have to face 2 golden knights, and the face that shoots homing bolts. I would blitz the head down, and then kill the 2 golden knights. For the knights, run up to them, hit them a few times, and then back off. The only attack they have that truly sucks is when they summon 2 bolts and fire them at you, since they move fast and if one hits they both will. Once they're dead, look toward the bottom right door and you should see an item on a pillar. You need to jump from the middle ring to a pillar in the second row, and then jump from there to the item, which is a War Core. No go west to the beginning area and then west to the next area, then use the northeast exit. Walk down to the middle of the arena. Here your health constantly goes down. To start you face the Prototype again and 2 cinder puppets. Kill the cinder puppets and then kill the prototype. A bunch of regular puppets will spawn, just blast them with magic bolt. Finally a Djinn will spawn, stunlock it with magic bolt until it dies. Go north from the middle of the room to find an Abbadon Ring.

Use the northeast exit, then go in the northwest exit. The trial here is only using Ergo against 2 nexus guardians, which are the enemies that could only be hurt when they use the slash attacks. I think this fun is pretty unfair, so I just brute forced it and used as many healing/defense/magic items as I had. I locked on to one and just dodged its attacks and hit it when I could. I kept an eye on the other if it was on my screen but like I said, I mostly just brute forced it. If you wanted to do it "legit", I assume they wanted you to space them out until they started attacking in sync, but the moment you hit one they are knocked back and the attacks are unsynced, so that would take way too damn long. Once they're dead you can get a Hypnos. Face the south wall, and jump to the bottom right pillar. From here work your way northwest to find Hypnos on a pillar. Exit north. A War Anima is on the west side. For the enemies, you'll face a golden knight and a silver knight. Stay away from them both and kill the golden knight with magic. You can then kill the silver knight with bolts, or melee. Leave out the northeast exit. Go forward and you'll find an NPC, I don't think the answer really matters. To the south is the portal room, you can return to save and buy healing items if you like. While you're here, talk to Monster mask to open secret boss portal and head inside. This boss is basically the same as the bad ending boss, but does more damage and has more HP. I didn't notice any new attacks when I fought him. His HP total just makes it very boring and tedious. You have to be more careful about getting hit, as you'll chew through a ton of healing items. You'll get an achievement when you beat him.

Return to the Sanctuary and go east to a new section. There's a Defense Anima in north part of this circle. Here you'll have to face 2 Proscatine and then 2 Seraphim. I used Light Holocaust and Energy Cutter to kill them. Once they're down head south to the next circle. The pot in northwest corner has an Armor Core. You'll have to fight 2 Dullahans and magitek golem, and can only use the Bearer. Kill the golem first, using whatever spell you prefer. The 2 Dullahans can then be killed with Magic Beam. Return to where the portal room exit is and head north instead. Head up the stairs ahead and keep an eye on the left side until you see an item, fall down on it to get Old One. Under the ramp in the northwest corner is a Life Anima. Unless you missed an item, you should get an achievement.

Now we're going to fight the final boss and head into NG+, so if there is anything you want to do, now is the time to do it. Make sure you stock up on healing items 100%. The next part sucks. You have to finish the final boss and 2 endings, all without being able to use the shop for healing items, as it won't be available in NG+ until you finish the 1st wing. This means you'll need to fight both forms of the final boss, the Red Lady, AND Nameless again AND Baal with only the healing items you have now, and the ones you can get in NG+ before you fight Nameless. It sucks, so try to conserve your healing items as much as possible. I would keep a backup save just in case you want to come back.

When you're ready, head back to the northern circle of the sanctuary with the stairs, head to the top to get to the Gate of Memories. Drop down. The final boss will be here and will shoot lasers at you as you try to get to it, so you have to be quick. Go forward until you see platforms to the left, jump on them quickly and then move west until you see a chain and break it, then go forward. Follow the path to another chain. On the way the boss will attack you, if you stay moving most of the attacks won't hit. You'll come to a chain, hit and keep going to a third chain and destroy it. Now you'll have to face the boss. He can shoot a laser, attack with either fist, or do a sweeping laser attack. The objective is to destroy his chains. After one or two attacks, he'll throw the chains at you, and then you have a few seconds to hit them. After all 4 chains are gone, you have to hit his hands to finish him off.

His next form, to start, just has a dark bolt it throws, and it also dashes at you and tries to swipe you. As it's health goes down, it takes less damage from certain attacks and gains new attacks of it's own depending on what tablet it shows. When it first shows a tablet, it can slam 2 hands down in front of it for a bunch of damage. After the next tablet, it can cause an explosion on you, or throw a black wave of energy. For the third tablet I'm not sure what he does besides throw a bolt of energy, because you can just stunlock him to death with magic bolt. For the next tablet, he can do the claw dash again, his other attack is jumping into the air 3 times and slamming down on you. With the next tablet he creates a bunch of clones, and they can fire the dark wave or dark bolts. Use air beam to kill them like you did Malekith's clones. In the next form he will occasionally go in the air and shoot dark beams. The first time is 3, 2nd is 4, last is 5. Other than that he uses the claw attack. As he gets closer to die he does the above along with some new tricks : he'll create a dark laser and spin around the room with it, which you'll need to dodge. You'll get an achievement when you win.

For the first ending, load the save you just finished the game with to go into NG+. Progress until you fight Red Lady. After you beat her, you'll fight Nameless. For the ending you need to kill him before he runs away. Use a Magic Soul for magic regen, a War Anima for the damage buff, and then spam the hell out of Energy Cutter. After you use it immediately dodge to cancel the animation, and then throw another. Don't stop doing it for anything, and just heal through the damage. When the damage/regen buff goes down use the items again, there's icons for them under your health bar. He will leave after the throws a bunch of bolts from that high rock a second time. If you fail, quickly dashboard out or you'll have to start NG+ again from your backup save (and make sure to make another backup save if this happens). You'll get an achievement if you do it right.

Load the save to continue from the fight. Continue until you make it to the Arcane Core. Make a second save you can use after you get the ending, and then head into the 1st wing. Push the block and then jump into the Gladius, and then go forward to enter Nowhere. This time, don't turn around and leave. Head forward, ignoring the warnings to go back. Eventually you'll find the stairs to the 2nd Nameless fight. Beat him (same attacks as always) and then you'll have to fight the small form of Baal again, who also uses the same attacks, though he seems to use less of them. Once Baal is dead, you'll have the achievement. I hit level 20 after this boss, so you might too. If you don't hit 20 you'll earn it in the next step.

Load the other save you made in the Arcane Core before we fought Nameless/Baal. We need to finish NG+ and the easiest ending to do that with is the bad ending, which only requires killing 4 messengers. I'll only give an abbreviated walkthrough, since you know how it is by now. Not only do we only need to kill 4 messengers, we also only need 3 memories for the bosses, instead of 5. Go to 1st wing, put Gaudemus into the painting, head to the Painting Corridor and put Grimoire into the painting, Workshop, kill Protoype. Get memory to the north, put code into painting, go back to PC, get memory in 3rd door and 2nd door.

Head to 2nd wing. Make way to central chamber, left, middle, right at the statues, get memory in atrium with switch. Middle, right, left go in garden and get memory. Right middle middle left right get memory in chandelier above. Right Middle right and go through door to get green gem activating power from nexus guardian. Then go to Inner Chamber and beat portal and then kill Nameless.

3rd wing : Hit green gem in 3rd wing and get core of the fantasy. Go to Lia's Road, hit helmet in south side and then go to zodiac temple and hit helmet there. Go to great plains, get memory north of entrance on floating block, use core of the fantasy in stone circle west of entrance for memory, and then go southwest to the place where the Seraphim is and kill her to get that memory. Approach entrance to hidden meadow and then destroy 2 heads (one southeast of circle, one north of stone circle).

5th wing : Note that you can go through the 4th wing and fight Malekith instead, if you want, but in my opinion he's much harder than Druaga. Up to you though. Go to temple altar, get winter rune go to first trial (just hit switch up and to the right to get to winter door), get memory and then get autumn rune, go to second trial. Hit 1st switch, 2nd switch, 1st switch, 3rd switch, 1st switch. Go to autumn exit and take the path around to window, get memory then go into autumn. Enter this at the status puzzle, facing the masks from the south side...

XXXOX XOXXX
XOXXX XXXXO
XXXXO XXXOX

Get the memory then go get the spring rune. Then go to third trial. Hit 1st switch on west side, then 2nd switch, then 1st switch again. Go to east side, hit 1st switch and then 2nd switch, use blocks in air to get to other side, go past switch between 2 blocks and hit switch on east side, then jump up to spring portal. Get summer rune ahead and leave. Kill Druaga. Head to The Void on the 3rd floor, run the projectile gauntlet, and then kill Ergo for achievement.
