Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia is an overall good 2.5D game and probably the easiest game in the AC: Chronicles trilogy in terms of both the achievements lists and gameplay. I picked this up because I have always wanted an Assassin's Creed game based in Russia and if you ask me, the revolutionary times in 1918, the time period where the game takes place, are the best to do so. One could argue that the gameplay is hard at least on your first playthrough and because we usually are not confined, in video games, to 2D spaces and it can be tricky to figure out how to get past a group of enemies on your first run through the game's story. A second run, however, will prove it just takes a little getting used to. The player takes control of Nikolai Orelov, an assassin in the Russian Brotherhood and Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia, the last survivor of the Russian royal family.

For his final assignment before leaving the brotherhood, Orelov is tasked with stealing an artifact from Bolsheviks holding the royal family hostage. At the Ipatiev House, where the family is being held and where Orelov's target is, Orelov witnesses the murder of the royal family, but he saves Duchess Anastasia* and now must protect her and the artifact he has stolen.

*(Note: Anastasia did not actually survive the massacre of her family in 1918)
