9. BioShock Farmer's MarketUpdate notes

Farmer's Market

Upon starting the level, walk straight ahead to find a corpse. If you search his body, you will find your first bee enzyme. Right next to him is Audio Diary #58/122: Bee Enzyme. Head into the door and down the hallway, and you will enter the titular Farmer's Market. Now, this area is very maze-like, and a lot of the environments look the same, so I will walk you through it as best I can. Start off by killing the splicers and hacking the rocket turret to your right. Now head down the stairs that this turret was facing, and you will find Tonic #25/53: EVE Link 2 in front of the vending machine. This tonic is, once again, a more efficient version of the first.

Head down the hallway to the left of the vending machine now, and you will enter a plaza with a tree in the center of it. You will now be ambushed by a few splicers, so kill them. If you head behind the counter that is to your left when you enter this plaza, you will notice a door marked with "Employees Only". You will see Audio Diary #59/122: First Encounter straight ahead from you upon entering the door. If you look to your left, you will see a dead Big Daddy and a room submerged with water. Head into the water, and on a desk to your left, you will find Audio Diary #60/122: Hatred. Upon leaving this room, I was attacked by a Houdini Splicer, finished my research, and unlocked:

If you enter the room to the right of the Employees Only door, you will find a splicer to kill and your first instance of distilled water. Head out of this room now, and to your left, you should notice another keypad lock. Use "0512" if you wish to get some more supplies. Heading back out into the main plaza now, head up the stairs, and follow the arrow into a door. You should notice another Big Daddy and a Little Sister. You know the drill by now. Research both of them, kill the Big Daddy, and deal with the Little Sister. Save her with cn_Y. Behind a counter to the right of where the Big Daddy was, there will also be a security camera to hack. At this point, I also finished my research for the security camera, and I promise that this is the final research tree that does not lead to an achievement. Also feel free to hack the safe to the left of the security camera.

Now head back through the door you came, and to your left upon leaving, you will see another door. Head through this door, and you will see a crawlspace straight ahead. Head into the crawlspace, and you will find Audio Diary #61/122: Desperate Times directly in front of you. You can jump on the crates next to this Audio Diary to enter another crawlspace that leads to a room filled with hanging corpses. The crawlspace on the ground in this room leads you back to where the security camera was. Now, from where the Big Daddy was, ignore the arrow, and turn left. There will be a door straight ahead of you and a door to the right of you. The door to the right leads to a turret and a safe. If you go through the door ahead of you, there will be a security camera to your left and Audio Diary #62/122: Pulling Together on a counter to your right.

Now you can follow the arrow. Directly in front of the next door you need to enter is Audio Diary #63/122: Water in Wine on top of some broken wine bottles. Head through the door, and the arrow will lead you into the Silverwing Apiary. There will bees in this area, so be careful not to get stung too much. As soon as you enter, there will be Audio Diary #64/122: Adam Explained on the counter. To your left will be another Gatherer's Garden, so buy the Plasmid slot. This should be your final slot for the Plasmid track, so you will unlock:

I also bought a tonic slot. Head into the apiary now, and before entering the room with all of the beehives, use the Smoker Control in front of you. This will prevent you from getting stung repeatedly. Now search as many beehives as you can while avoiding the splicers' attacks before the timer on the Smoker Control is up. Once you collect 7 bee enzyme samples, you are free to leave the apiary. You should also have already collected 7 chlorophyll samples from looting dead bodies and containers.

Upon leaving the apiary, the arrow will now lead you into the Worley Winery. As soon as you enter, take either path, but be careful about the security camera behind the bar. Upon hacking the security camera and turret beside it, head to the right side of the bar to find Audio Diary #65/122: Functional Children on one of the tables. The arrow will now lead you to the basement of the winery, and this is where directions will get confusing. So, start by heading down each staircase until you reach the very bottom floor. There will be another Big Daddy here, so feel free to research it for the Rosie track. Now, upon reaching the bottom, you will notice two submerged pathways. Enter the one on the right (more like straight ahead of you), and you will find Weapon Upgrade Station #3/12. Downstairs here, you will also find glowing bottles of distilled water to help you complete your goal.

From where you upgraded your weapon, head to the furthest back left you can imagine in this downstairs area. You'll know you're in the right place if you see a Gene Bank on your way. Anyway, there will be a dock leading into a shack, so head into the shack. By the bed, you will find Tonic #26/53: Photographer's Eye. This tonic is a less efficient version of the one we already have, but equip it anyway in any slot except for Photographer's Eye 2. This is a very important tonic for the research trees. You will now be tasked with building the Lazarus Vector, so let's head back to Langford's laboratory in Arcadia! Backtrack all the way back to the Bulkhead to Arcadia.
