11. Title Update 6.66
Title Update 6.66 added and changed a very large amount of content for the multiplayer portion of the game, making the previously released DLC items free to play and adding challenges to the multiplayer. If you did not purchase the "Unto the Evil", "Hell Followed", or "Bloodfall" packs while they were still on the marketplace for $15 each you are now in for quite a grind. Every achievement now revolves around using new unlockable weapons or wearing new unlockable armor, as well as completing challenges and receiving a gold medal. Let's start with those, since they'll be available to you from the beginning.
In the multiplayer menu start by selecting a challenge. They can range from getting kills with certain weapons, in certain game modes, or by completing certain objectives. Find one that you'll have little trouble getting and begin tracking it. After that, enter a game of Warpath. Your goal is to get 1,500 points in a single match, so play the objective and try to get as many offense/defense kills as you can. if you complete your tracked challenge in this game, you will unlock:
Complete a tracked Challenge in a Multiplayer Match
If you score 1,500 points in this match, you'll get a Gold rating and:
If not, keep playing until you do. You need to rank up anyway, so don't fret if it takes a few matches. Your next goal is to unlock weapons, armor, and taunts from multiplayer progression. Challenges will occasionally pop up that give you these items as rewards, but all can be unlocked by reaching a certain level or Echelon (prestige). I'll list the order in which these unlock so that you can utilize them as fast as possible. The fastest way to earn is XP is by playing when double XP is enabled, completing challenges, or playing the objective in your gametype of choice. With that said and done, this is the unlock list:
The "Ambusher" class starts with the grenade launcher. Enter any match and get 10 kills with this weapon (easier in modes that require you to defend or attack certain positions on the map as opposed to deathmatch game types), make sure to utilize the splash damage. You can space this out throughout as many games as you'd like. Once you hit 10 kills you will unlock:
The Ambusher also has the Threat Pulse automatically equipped. Simply use it at every opportunity, as you only need to detect 20 enemies with it and not kill them. After hitting 20 you will unlock:
You will unlock the Harvester Demon here. Like all other demons, you need to pick up a Demon rune on the map to transform and wreak havoc on your enemies. Pick this demon in your loadout after unlocking it, then enter any game with control points or position defense. Simply kill 10 enemies with this demon across all of your games to unlock:
You will now unlock the EMG Mark V Pistol, so make sure to equip it in your loadout and enter a game with it. You'll need 10 kills with it, and my best strategy is to be a cheap little rat and steal kills to get your numbers up. The pistol is very weak, even when fully charged with . Run around the map picking off weaker enemies until you reach 10 kills and unlock:
Once you hit level 28 you will unlock the Spectre Demon. Run around until you find a rune, then step into it to transform. Using to rush enemies is the best way to kill enemies in rapid succession, so find 2 or more enemies congregated around a point and rush them. Killing 2 or more quickly enough will get you:
Once that's done, your next objective is 10 kills with this demon across all games. Once you get to 10 you will unlock:
Kill 10 enemies with the Spectre demon in Multiplayer
You'll unlock the first taunt from the "Unto the Evil" pack here. Like all taunts, go to Customization > Taunts and assign this one to a spot on the D-Pad. Get into a game and use it for:
Use a taunt from "Unto the Evil" Content Pack during a Multiplayer Match
this is where you'll unlock the Reaper gun, which is fairly powerful. Use charge shots to knock off huge chunks of your enemies health, and go for 10 kills with it. Once you reach 10 you'll unlock:
It is here where you unlock the first taunt from the "Hell Followed" pack. Equip it and use it in a match for:
You unlock the Cacaodemon here, one of the easiest to get kills with. Equip it like any other demon and enter a game. Get close to an enemy, then hold to grab them with your tongue and eat them. It's an instant kill every time and it is very possible to get the 10 kills needed with this demon in a single game. Once you reach 10, you'll earn:
Here you will unlock the "Bounty" rune. Make sure to use and equip this, as this will get you more XP per game and reduce the grind a bit.
Here is where you will unlock the first taunt from the "Bloodfall" pack. Equip it and use it in a match for:
This is where you unlock the Kinetic Mines, which act as proximity grenades. Equip them and throw them around flags or objectives in objective based game modes, waiting for weakened enemies to walk over them. 5 kills with these mines gets you:
This is when you unlock the final rune and earn:
Echelon IV, Level 1
Once you hit this level you will unlock the first piece of Cultist armor, Cult 1: Acolyte. Like all armor you need to equip it by going to Customization > Customize Character > Custom Suit > Armor and choosing the armor. Play a match with it equipped to unlock:
Play a Multiplayer Match with a piece of Evil Cultist armor equipped
Echelon V, Level 1
In Echelon V you unlock an easy challenge; Get 5 Glory Kills as a demon. Only demons with arms can get glory kills, so keep that in mind. Completing that challenge unlocks the first piece of Robotic Armor. If you don't want to attempt challenges, one will unlock naturally at Echelon VIII. Equipping and wearing it in a game unlocks:
Echelon VIII, Level 1
Reaching this level unlocks 2 challenges that allow you to unlock Cyber-Demon armor now, otherwise you'll need to grind all the way up to Echelon X for it. The 2 easiest challenges are:
MVP? More like LVP 1
Kill the top enemy three times in a match.
This will unlock Cyber-Demon 1: Ruiner
Get 5 Hard to Kill (Best kill/death ratio) commendations.
This will unlock Cyber-Demon 4: Hellburst
Notice I said "easiest" but not particularly easy. Playing objective gametypes and going for kills only might be the best route for these challenges, but if they're really giving you trouble you can go up to Echelon X. Equip and play a match with one of these armor pieces for:
Beauty is Pain
Play a Multiplayer Match with a piece of Cyber-Demonic armor equipped
Wow, what a ridiculous grind! At least the Hell is now over, congratulations!
