DeathSpank: The Baconing - Walkthrough overview
This is the 3rd installment in the Deathspank franchise and as you might expect from a Deathspank game it is full of jokes and jibes and is seriously-not-even-remotely-serious in any way. You play as the hero Deathspank from the previous installments. One day you find out that you are really bored and looking for a challenge. Lucky you!! The apocalypse comes no sooner than you thought about some excitement!
The controls are the usual, as with most hack-and-slash games and the graphics are really lovely to behold. Although it doesn't make any difference achievement-wise, you can do the game in coop as well and it's way more fun than playing it alone.
With that said, pack your equipment, slay some monsters and show the world how heroes should look like!
DeathSpank: The Baconing - General hints and tips
Don't turn off the "always-equip-best-gear" option in your inventory accidentally! This feature helps tremendously since you can sell/grind old armor once you get better ones.
Keep potions for tough battles and use them simultaneously for the best effects! You can buy them from vendors all around the game anytime you seem to run low.
Weapons you accidentally destroyed (a.k.a. sold) in the game can be re-purchased at the weapons traders. This goes for armor as well!
Always make sure to have the strongest weapons on you. Also keep in mind that some enemies are immune to certain damages, so don't rely too much on elemental damage. Also be aware that most enemies are vulnerable to their own projectiles!
Grenades deal a large amount of damage BUT they can kill you as well!
Get your special meter up by dealing chained attacks!
Blocking and deflecting attacks is the best thing you have in your inventory so use it wisely.
DeathSpank: The Baconing - Story walkthrough
We will need 2 playthoughs of this game, since insane only unlocks after beating the game once and we will actually try to get the majority of the achievements during the first one. Now with that said just jump in the game right away
Story on Easy
We set the game on the lowest difficulty only to rush through it a little bit faster. It's totally up to you if you would like to do it on a higher difficulty. As soon as you face your first set of enemies, there are 2 achievements you can straight away aim for. The first and easiest would be a 10-hit combo. Hit an enemy once and use another weapon to add an attack to the chain. Now alternate between the 2 weapons until you hit a 10 (make sure to not break the rhythm, practice makes perfect!) and unlock an achievement
Now find a chicken and shield bash it a 1000 times. Simply hold the RT until a white flash appears above your head and release it to shield bash an enemy. This can be done any time in the game, but if you grind it right now, you spare yourself some headache about that one. Shouldn't take long if you cornered the chicken
As soon as you got that, you will now concentrate on reflecting incoming shots the same way. Simply time them right and you should have no problem at all in getting a full 100. This can be done anytime as well, simply keep in mind to do them when fighting archers and you get this achievement in no time at all
Head to the replicator and get the stamp cards 3,4 and 5. As soon as you have got them all, use them in the following order on the machine in front of the electricity barrier : 3, 5, 4. This will unlock the barrier for you and net you an achievement
Continue onwards and after some time you will unlock the following almost naturally. These enemies look like robots, hard to miss
Continue on your path, take the 3 pictures of the Mayor when you meet him, kill the creature for its pelt and head through the door with the Mayor's help. Now to manipulate the election you need to use the following names : Edgar Van Hinklestink, Sherkwalk Mollybarner, Todarian Krommentoner and Ballamarr Higglewiggins. You have to use the names each on one of the ballot booths to finish this quest. Here you will get the questline of the princess where you have to beat the beasts in the arena. There is an achievement for becoming the arena champion and if you feel ready for it, go for it. However, I strongly recommend getting stronger weapons first before you attempt it since the dragon is rather tough. As soon as you finished the whole questline of her, you can continue on your quest. Head to Z.I.M.O.N and get the questline from him. In order to get the code you will need to head to the North and South poles. This is only possible if you get more units to activate the drawbridges. This puzzle took me some time to figure out, so here is the solution : Activate the northern outhouse. Now activate the green and purple and take out the red one. Beam to the northern outhouse, get across the gap for the 4th unit. Now activate the units except for the green one and get south to the next riddle. Here you have to beat the monks in their weird riddle and it's done by speaking to all the monks and either giving them the right answer or killing them. Now head to the Z.I.M.O.N. computer again, use the keycode and play 'Simon Says' to restore his brains. Now enter the vault and throw the thong into the fire!
Head through the flames (they are now gone) and follow the path until you get the nuclear family quest line. This is rather straight forward, simply explore every nook and cranny and you should have no trouble at all. Enter the brothel for refined tobacco (raw tobacco needs to be farmed from the garden)/VIP pass/father of the atomic family/spit pot, talk to clones/attack them to get their parts, kill the monster at Chastity's location, hand the refined tobacco to Strunken/get his spit/use it on the replicator/bring the clone to his wife for the dog and hand the dog to Elroy. As soon as you hand over the quest the wall will explode revealing a new path which leads to a fire able to destroy the next thong.
Follow the path to the casino and take the new quest given to you there. Head inside the casino and get all the pieces needed. Talk to the godfather there and head into the slots dungeon and use the dice to fix the machines. Now beat up the monks in the east outside of the casino. Now enter the kingly dungeon to get the parts for the armour (first talk to the guy with the debts). Get as well inside the mine to the east (need to blow the entrance up with TNT) and get the chunks of ore with the pickaxe. As soon as he builds you the armour, you can enter the stage. Now beat the waves of enemies and the biggy to enter the volcano and to burn the 3rd thong
Now follow the path ahead and talk to the captain "Taint" at the beach, the post officer in the north and the tourist in the east. Talk to the captain once more for the keys, combine the broken keys with the insurance papers and the stamp and drop it off at the mailbox. Now with the ship keys enter the sea ahead. Combine the stamp with the tourist photo to drop it in the mailbox and to finish that quest. Head to the wellspring island and fill the bucket you get with barnacle water (don't forget to put the spores in every single well). Head to the alien tourist island to get the quest to free the tourists (these are scattered on the small islands and lucky charm island). Head to the talking stick island and use the barnacle water on the empty cup. Don't forget to ask for the stick. Head to the overripe fruit island for the well and overripe fruit (hand him the stick and ask him about the fruit). Head to the cyborque island and use the fruit on the laser barrier. Follow the path and kill every enemy on the path to find the barnacle mother. She will reveal you the path to the next bacon fire. Of course you will burn the 4th thong now.
Follow the path and talk to the sheriff at olympus heights. Talk to the country club guy and the real estate guy. Get to the pro shop first an buy some bug spray and a new quest. Pillage the club parts from the statues scattered in olympus heights and use the fire alarm to get past the creature guarding Zeus. Now do his quest line (kill the plants, lure the goats to the field and kill the Bearabus in hels acres). Return the parts to the pro shop and get the lightning bolt off the corpse of the victim. Get to the country club to enter the back area and get a golf outfit to finish this line. Now head to Zeus (start his quest line as well), get back to the sheriff and enter hels acres. On your path you will face the large creature previously guarding Zeus. Kill it to finish his questline and upon getting your reward you will unlock the following.
Now head to the right to kill the stone giants for Thor's questline and head to hades to free him. Kill 18 enemies in the area of the circle with the torches to do that and get behind him to burn the last thong! Now beat the serpent about 4 times to unlock the next area. However, we won't go there yet, instead we head back to the arena. This time we are quite mighty and we will aim to beat all the 20 waves. Make sure to keep your distance and don't lob grenades when you are too close. Also if you feel like retreating, run past the announcer. The enemies will stop there. Waves 1-16 are really easy with this equipment. For 17 reflect the projectiles they shoot at you for maximum damage. For the demons in 18 I recommend using the wold smasher hammers special ability, these are instant kills on them. For 19 I recommend to reflect the projectiles and use the same special attack on the big guy. For 20, kill the medics first and concentrate on Morbo alone. Sadly he is a tough bastard, immune to the hammer's special attack and on top of that he will regenerate once you are behind the announcer. The best way is to shoot and run and continue this tactic. Use your potions wisely and as soon as he drops, the announcer will award you the key to the chest. Open it to become the champion and get an achievement
After beating Morbo, you should be at level 20. If not, you will get it once you have beaten Nega-spank. However, if not, do sidequests!
Now its time to farm kills for the 2000 kills. Good spots are Rainbows end outhouse, the west canals outhouse and all the island outhouses. Basically kill all the low level enemies around these places and as soon as you hit 2000 you get the achievement. You can check your progress on them by looking at the leaderboards (this only works if you're connected to live!).
Now finally head across the bridge to find the last outhouse and an achievement
Now its time to face your evil twin. Destroy his hands first and as soon as they are down, destroy his torso. Try to do this with your orphan canon, this is in my opinion the easiest way to beat him. However, if you want to take it close, make sure to load up on special energy by beating his minions. As son as he's down, you will unlock the following
Now there is only insane mode left!
Story on Insane
Since you beat the game now, you will have unlocked insane mode. Start a new game on insane and beat the adventure once more. You should now know the weapons like the back of your hand, however you will use more elemental arrows and grenades in this one. Also make massive use of the shield bash ability as well as the reflect arrow ability. These will come in quite handy, especially when you get crowded! Make sure to always have the best equipment possible, otherwise you will spend a tremendous amount of time on this one. However, as soon as you beat Nega-spank you get the following

DeathSpank: The Baconing - Outhouses
There is a total of 41 outhouses and the majority of them are on the main paths so are rather hard to miss. However, I will give a detailed description of the locations of the outhouses with the corresponding names
1/41 (The first Outhouse) : Right in the area you start, really impossible to miss
2/41 (Researcher) : Where you find the researcher and you follow the highway up, there is the outhouse before you reach the chickens, hard to miss
3/41 (Spanktopia) : When you reach the electric barrier, it's right to the right of it
4/41 (Locksmith) : When you head to the left from the barrier, you find this one near the southern end
5/41 (Ghostly) : Halfway on the path to the right of the barrier
6/41 (Forbidden Zone) : After the barrier straight on the road ahead
7/41 (Big game hunter) : After the previous outhouse straight on your way next to the big game hunter
8/41 (Forbidden City) : This is a little bit before you reach the locked door, also on your path
9/41 (Arena) : When you reach the city, its in front of the ramp leading to the arena.
10/41 (West Canals) : Before you enter Z.I.M.O.N., it will be on your path to the left
11/41 (North Canals) : When you lower the green bridge, its right after it.
12/41 (North Adept) : Follow the path to the cloister with the monks to find it in front of it
13/41 (South Canals) : When you head to the southern portion of Z.I.M.O.N. you will stumble across that one
14/41 (South Adept) : Same as the north, this time just to the south
15/41 (Outhouse of Tomorrow) : As soon as you find the guy on the posters telling you stuff, it's next to him
16/41 (Ima) : Follow the path north and its to the left of the woman asking for her husband
17/41 (Dick) : Right in front of the brothel in the city, hard to miss
18/41 (Garden) : Follow the path west from the previous one and you will find this one
19/41 (Elroy) : From the Brothel, follow the path south to find this one in the 2nd part of town
20/41 (Chastity) : From Elroy head south and follow the path to find this one
21/41 (Rainbows End) : After getting through the housewall of the atomic family, this one is straight on your path
22/41 (Casino) : Before you get up the steps to the casino
23/41 (Toxic) : On your way to Barnacle Lake, hard to miss
24/41 (Barnacle Lake) : Right next to the Pirate at Barnacle Lake
25/41 (Well Spring Island) : Right at the start of the same island
26/41 (charmed Island) : Head south in the Barnacle Lake and you find an island shaped like a shamrock. It's on this island, right at the start
27/41 (Talking Stick Island) : Like the previous island outhouse, on the same island
28/41 (Overripe Fruit Island) : Same as the previous one
29/41 (Alien Vacation Island) : Same as the previous one
30/41 (Cyborque Beach) : This one is on the Cyborque island, hard to miss
31/41 (Cyborque Camp) : Right after you break the barrier, it's on your path
32/41 (Valhalla Heights) : When you enter the area, to the left of the murdered guy
33/41 (Zeus) : To the left of Zeus to the north of Valhalla
34/41 (Country Club) : Get to the Country Club to find this in front of it
35/41 (Pro Shop) : Follow the path to the east from the country club to find this
36/41 (Par-4-Ever) : Get to the north after getting all the items for the lawn allowance, rather to the east
37/41 (Thor) : Get further to the north, its right next to Thor, hard to miss
38/41 (Follow the Clues) : On your way to Hel after activating the fiery footprints
39/41 (Smelly) : On your path to Hades
40/41 (Hades) Right next to Hades
41/41 (Hollow) to the right before you enter the lair of your evil twin
