As described on the previous page, this walkthrough will explain the process needed to unlock the most difficult achievements and will explain with every step what you will have to do. Many of these steps also add up towards several other achievements. These will be mentioned as we progress.
When you start your first game, the first thing I suggest you to do is click
to go to the menu. You'll see that the top slider (multiball zoom) is set all the way to ‘tighter’. I instead suggest setting this one to about halfway or slightly tighter than halfway. This slider indicates how much your view will zoom out when multiple balls are present on the table. In the standard setting the zoom is so tight that you are only capable of seeing the ball lowest on the table, leaving all balls higher on the table out of view. Make sure to save this setting by clicking on the [OKAY] button in the bottom of the screen. Going back by pressing
does not save your changes!
When you have launched your first ball by pressing
, your first achievement will unlock.
This ball will arrive in the middle on the table which will be referred as Tier 2. From here, use the ‘secret passage’ mentioned on the previous page to get to Tier 3 and start working on completing your first word. However, when going for the WIZARD MODE and following the structure of this walkthrough, I strongly suggest not trying to collect the letters in order as described below. When you start with the rituals in Tier 3 and accidentally drop your ball to Tier 2, don’t feel worried to start the next ritual over there before heading back up.
ZODIAC Ritual
The rituals for the letters of the word ‘ZODIAC’ all take place in the highest part of the pinball machine; Tier 3. Each individual letter has to be unlocked by completing a specific ritual and each ritual has to be started by shooting the ball up a specific path:
Z
Each time you shoot (one of your) ball(s) through the mentioned path while not having an incomplete ritual in Tier 3, you will start a new one. The first one will be a relatively easy one, simply hit all four ‘Matryoshkas’. Don’t worry, one hit is enough and there will be no smaller Matryoshkas popping out!
Also, when you have completed this ritual and slain four of them, you will have your first 4% working towards this achievement, which will be earned naturally along the way:
O
After receiving the letter ‘Z’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This is another simple one, simply hit the kickers above the flippers in Tier 3 a total of six times. The simplest way I found to do so is to try to cradle a ball with one of your flippers. If the ball is laying still, release the flipper for the shortest amount of time before raising it again. This should give the ball a small curvy arch towards the kickers above the flipper you just used. As the kickers are quite bouncy, the ball will most likely jump around Tier 3 for a bit and quite often hitting more kickers. Just make sure to cradle it when you have the chance and repeat the process.
D
After receiving the letter ‘O’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This one should look quite familiar, you have to hit four Matryoshkas once more. They are in the same position as the previous ones and once again they will not spawn smaller ones.
I
After receiving the letter ‘D’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. For this one you want to shoot a ball along the ‘Outer Orbit’. The game however is not very clear on what this outer orbit is, but it is simpler than it seems. I suggest cradling the ball and carefully aiming towards the opening below the snake. I found this done easiest from the right flipper. Then cradle the ball, release it for a brief moment and raise the flipper again, just like you did when you were aiming for the kickers. Make sure to add a tiny amount of time before raising the flipper again. Don’t worry about not giving the ball enough speed, once you reach the outer orbit the game will speed up your ball anyway.
You may notice that sometimes there is a blue cube (?) on top of this outer orbit stating ‘OPEN LOCK’. Hitting the outer orbit with this object present will open one of the slots of the wheel, left from the lion in Tier 3. In this open slot, you are able to store a ball and plunge a new one into the game without costing you a ball/life. If you manage to store three balls in this wheel and hit the pink gemstone that will appear in between the flippers on Tier 2, your three stored balls will come into play again and this achievement will unlock:
A
After receiving the letter ‘I’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This time you will have to shoot a ball along the ‘Inner Orbit (Loop)’ three times. Just like last time, the game does not tell you how to access this inner orbit, but it is luckily quite simple. Aim between the snake and the lion and see your ball do a full loop on the top left of this tier.

After receiving the letter ‘A’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This is the final one needed for the ZODIAC ritual. You need to shoot your ball up the snake ramp a total of three times. The tricky thing on this one is that the snake doesn’t always allow you to use the ramp. What you need to do is aim your ball at the snake when its mouth is open. If you hit the snake while its mouth is closed, your ball will simply bounce around and the snake might even spawn four new Matryoshkas.
When your ball hits the snake ramp for the third time, the achievement for completing your first ritual word will unlock:
ARCANE Ritual
The rituals for the letters of the word ‘ARCANE’ all take place in the middle part of the pinball machine; Tier 2. Each individual letter has to be unlocked by completing a specific ritual and each ritual has to be started by shooting the ball up a specific path called the ‘Lilith Right Ramp’:

Each time you shoot (one of your) ball(s) up the mentioned ramp while not having an incomplete ritual in Tier 2, you will start a new one. The first one will be an easy one. So called ‘Soul Demons’ start circling around Lilith, the High Priestess. They respawn, so in two/three well-aimed shots you should have killed enough to receive the first letter.
R
After receiving the letter ‘A’, shoot up the ramp once again to start the next ritual. The second ritual in the middle tier is a bit tricky, as getting your ball in the section with the ‘Pop Bumpers’, of which you will need to hit at least 15, can be hard to achieve. I personally had the best shot cradling the ball with the right flipper of Tier 2 and aiming towards the entrance towards these bumpers. You may get lucky and receive all 15 hits with your ball bouncing around (don’t forget to (mis)use the tilting option to extend your chances!), but you also might not. What helped me is to hold the left flipper upwards when the ball was rolling towards this flipper. With the speed the ball has, it will bounce upwards a tiny bit against the upper flipper. I personally found it quite manageable to release this flipper and immediately raise it again to give the ball another shot upwards, having an angle that quite often went towards these bumpers again.

After receiving the letter ‘R’, shoot up the ramp once again to start the next ritual. The third letter for the ARCANE ritual is not quite clear when you first start playing this game. In Tier 2, you are able to earn Pachi Balls/Points by hitting stuff. Think about the Soul Demons you have already slain, but also about the Pop Bumpers you just hit. Above the right flipper in this tier there is a small double digit counter. To complete this ritual, you need to have at least 30 balls/points on this counter. To spend these balls/points, hit your ball so it will end up in the cup positioned on the forehead of High Priestess Lilith. With the ball in the cup, the High Priestess will wake up and your ball will be blasted upwards into Tier 3, releasing your Pachi balls/points in the meantime.
If you repeat the process of spending your Pachi Balls/Points 100 times, you will unlock an achievement:
Also, by hitting your ball into the cup on the forehead of the High Priestess, she will wake up. If you end up in the cup with your ball several more times, she will become enraged and eventually transform. To reach this final stadium, you will have to end up in the cup somewhere between 5 and 15 times, which will most likely happen at some point during your normal gameplay anyways:
A
After receiving the letter ‘C’, shoot up the ramp once again to start the next ritual. For the fourth letter you will have to hit the ‘Lilith Left Ramp’ five times. If you have been cradling your ball with the left flipper to start a new ritual in this tier, you should be familiar with what you have to do, but this time its the opposite. Cradle the ball with your right flipper, then release and raise your flipper in a similar fashion to hit this left ramp.

After receiving the letter ‘A’, shoot up the ramp once again to start the next ritual. This is a simple ritual to complete and you may very well have it done before realising. You will have to close 15 spikes, which are located in the section underneath the ramp you just fired your ball through, on the right side of Tier 2. Simply keep firing your ball up this ramp until you have closed enough spikes. Tilting is also a very good way to maximise the spikes hit with a ball!
All the spikes you hit will add up towards another achievement. When you reach a total of 300 spikes pushed down, you will unlock:

After receiving the letter ‘N’, shoot up the ramp once again to start the next ritual. If you have been following this walkthrough and completed the ZODIAC ritual already, this one should be a piece of cake. The secret passage to get your ball from Tier 2 towards Tier 3 is the main objective for this letter.
Simply use this passage a total of three times to complete your second word, which will unlock another achievement:
HERMIT Ritual
The rituals for the letters of the word ‘HERMIT’ all take place in the bottom part of the pinball table. Be aware that if you let a ball slip through your flippers or let gravity pull it in some other way below your flippers, your ball will be drained. However, it will add up working towards another achievement:
But this is an achievement that you will not need to grind, so let’s start on working towards completing the HERMIT rituals. To start a ritual, I suggest using your left flipper and aim just below the highest right flipper in Tier 1:
H
Each time you shoot (one of your) ball(s) through the mentioned path while not having an incomplete ritual in Tier 1, you will start a new one. The first letter is most likely the simplest ritual to complete. For the letter ‘H’ you will have to slay 10 Gore Demons, they start to spawn in between the right flippers the moment you activate the ritual. They all move in the same zig-zag pattern upwards until they reach the hermit (the purple guy) and then go back to where they came from following the same route. This route is the same route that your ball will take if you drop it into the portal between the lowest flippers. Luckily this portal will spawn once this ritual has been started. It may seem very counter-intuitive, but drop your ball into that portal. Your ball will be teleported up to Tier 2, slaying all Gore Demons in the process and awarding you with the first letter.
Also, slaying these Gore Demons will add up towards this achievement as well:

After receiving the letter ‘H’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This time you will have to hit five different Bloodbats, who will be flying along a horizontal pattern in the top of Tier 1, slightly below the flippers of Tier 2. If you still have a portal in between your flippers, cradle your ball with any flipper and wait until the Bloodbats are near the leftmost part of their set route. Letting your ball fall into the portal will zig-zag it upwards towards Tier 2, hitting several bats in your path. From this point, you can either cradle the ball with the flippers in Tier 2 and drop it once the bats are underneath (don’t forget to (mis)use the tilting function!) or simply hit the ball from the flippers in Tier 1 towards these bats.
All Bloodbats hit will add up towards another achievement. Once you have slain a total of 100, you will unlock:
R
After receiving the letter ‘E’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. For this letter you will see some familiar figures, being the Matryoshkas you have slain twice before during the ZODIAC rituals. These Matryoshkas will however be more difficult to hit, but once your ball is in the correct spot you can hit all five of them in a single go. The simplest way to get your ball on top of these stacked Matryoshkas is to hit the portal that sometimes appears directly underneath the left flipper of Tier 2 (be aware that there is no hammer present, as otherwise it will teleport your ball towards the blacksmith!). Other options to reach the top of the Matryoshkas are dropping your ball from the right side from Tier 2 or by hitting it with the top right flipper in Tier 1.
M
After receiving the letter ‘R’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This is another tricky one. You could try to hit the tiles from underneath by using the left bottom flipper and keeping your ball going with the top right flipper in Tier 1. The simplest way is, just like in the previous ritual, to get your ball to hit them from the top and let gravity do the work for you. You could try to aim the ball over there by using one of either flippers on the left side in Tier 1, but what I would suggest is to go back to Tier 2 (don’t forget to use the portal if it is present in between the bottom flippers!) and try to get the ball to fall downwards by dropping it through the ramp right of the right flipper.

After receiving the letter ‘M’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. This is a simple one, all you have to do is start the slot machine in Tier 1 once. Start the slot machine by hitting the spinners near the claw in the lower left part of this tier.
T
After receiving the letter ‘I’, shoot up the path once again to start the next ritual. The last one for the HERMIT ritual is also a simple one. In the middle of Tier 1 there are four playing cards, most likely underneath a larger character. Simply hit all four of them, either by ploughing through them after hitting the ball with one of your lower flippers or by dropping through them while you let gravity do all the work.
After you have received the final letter in spelling the word HERMIT in the lowest tier, another achievement will unlock for you:
All rituals for all three words will counts towards these achievements, and given the skill/luck-based factor in this game you might very well have the first two already unlocked:
During the process of collecting all 18 letters to spell the words, you will most likely have unlocked yet another achievement. For this achievement you will have to get all eight candles next to the High Priestess to be lit, however the requirements are not exactly known. Some sources say that the achievement unlocked after spelling two words, while others report that they needed to get into WIZARD MODE for it to unlock:
After completing all three words you will unlock something called ‘WIZARD MODE’. This will also unlock you an achievement:
Having unlocked WIZARD MODE (just for this playthrough, once you start with three fresh balls your WIZARD MODE will be gone) you can redo all rituals you have previously conquered. One funny thing to notice is that the order has been changed. Given that you have completed all rituals at least once, you should be on your way towards getting 1 billion points! I would advise you to take your ball up to Tier 3, as the higher you are playing the game the bigger the room for error if your ball slips down a tier. Given that you have been playing for quite a while now, you may have a nice multiplier built up. If not, feel free to visit the blacksmith once more! What worked for me in racking up the final millions of points was to try to hit everything that had the marker ‘SUPER JP’ or ‘ULTRA JP’ above it. I remember scoring around 70+ million points by hitting the lion present in the topside of Tier 3 while the ULTRA JP marker was floating above it. Once you reach a score of 1,000,000,000 points, one of the most difficult achievements of this game will unlock for you:
