3. Story walkthrough

Start a new game and begin the story. You can replay any mission once you have completed it. Cheats are available to use however the gameplay is such that you won't really need to use them. You start your journey to defeating Calico the bad guy in Italy.

**NOTE: There are points in the game where you will have to do a button mashing sequence that will be four buttons or less in length. In several playthroughs I obtained different sequences so to avoid passing on false information I have decided to just state that you have a sequence upcoming and not steer you wrong. There is always ample time to complete the sequences.

ITALY

Level 1 - Party Crashers

You start the level on a beach playing as Penney. Move up the beach and navigate your way to the brick wall by jumping on the raised rock platforms. Using cn_Y for enhanced vision you can see that there is an item of interest on the wall itself. Move to the base of the wall and Penney will pull out her wheelbar gadget. Jump and press cn_B to attach to the wall ledge. Use the wheelbar to slide all the way right to the end of the ledge and drop down to the ground below. Follow the rocks down to a wooden dock. Stand on the flat rock underneath the dock and attach the wheelbar to the underside of the dock. Slide all the way to the right and drop down to the dock.

You will have noticed an enemy on the dock as you slid past. Press and hold cn_RB to sneakily walk up to the enemy and press cn_X when prompted for a sneak attack victory. Move to the right and go up the ramp. You will see a red cn_B button icon on a gate at the top of the ramp. Move to it and tap cn_B to use the wheelbar to open the gate. (Tap the button in time with the arrow, do not mash too fast). Enter the area and grab the Gadget Bar Upgrade (1/3). Stand between the two vertical pipes in the middle of the yard you entered and use the wheelbar to glide to the top. Jump to the next rock ledge to the right and use the wheelbar to once again glide up. A short cut scene will show you a single enemy to defeat. Move to the left and collect the Gadget Bar Upgrade (2/3). Now go right and defeat the enemy using a sneak attack. Move up along the side of the house and drop down on the rock ledge where the stone railing is broken. Move to the right of the ledge and attach the wheelbar to the stone wall above you. Slide all the way to the right and drop down on the rock below. Follow the rock path down until you are prompted to use horizontal pipes to swing to the next ledge. Swing from pipe to pipe using the A button and timing when Penney should release one pipe to jump to the other. After you have crossed all three pipes you will be on a rock ledge on the other side. Move up the path until you come to a grassy area.

After being prompted to do so, use a gas mine to take out the enemy between the buildings. Gas Mines are released using cn_LT when playing as Penney. Follow the path around the building and open the garage door with the cn_B button on the panel next to the door. Move to the door on the back of the garage and tap cn_B to open it. A short cut scene triggers. After the scene you will be outside the garage and will learn about button sequences to complete action tasks. Use enhanced vision (cn_Y) to find a small yellow patch next to the garage wall. Move to it and Penney will engage in one of these button sequence events as she uses a tree to get to the ledge on the opposite wall of the garage. The sequence is cn_X-cn_B-cn_A. Move a little to the right and attach the wheelbar in the narrow vertical slot next to the electrical meter base. Glide to the roof of the building and take out the single enemy with a sneak attack. Jump up next to the antenna and attach the wheelbar to the cable connected to the antenna. For using the wheelbar to move up, sideways and on a cable you net the following achievement:

Glide to the antenna on the roof of the other building and get down from the cable. Attach the wheelbar to the ledge of the building and move to the right. Press cn_A to jump up onto the walkway where you will be instructed on how to use your camo. Engage the camo with cn_LB and walk past the alley where the enemies are to pick up the last Gadget Bar Upgrade of the level (3/3). Wait for your Action Energy bar to refill and use your camo to defeat both enemies with sneak attacks. Move into the house and go down the stairs to your right. Walk to the fireplace at the back of the room and tap the cn_B button at the prompt sitting there. The fire will extinguish and Penney can now use her wheelbar to go up the chimney and arrive on the rooftop. Defeat the single enemy up here with a sneak attack and move to the stone block on the roof with the slot in the middle. Move into the slot and use the wheelbar to get to the top. Attach the wheelbar to the cable connected to the antenna and move across to the next building. Use the wheebar once more to slide down the narrow slot to the rooftop below and the level is complete.

Level 2 - BITE NIGHT

This is your first action as Bolt. You will have to fight a number of enemies in this short level before facing off against your first mini-boss. First, race around the room to collect the three Health Upgrades that are in the room. One is in the back left corner of the room (1/3), one is in the middle of the room at the end of the red couch (2/3) and there is one behind the piano on the right hand side of the room (3/3). This area is a good place to get your first hit combo achievement as well. Use standard attacks (X) to attack an enemy 2-3 times, then point Bolt at another enemy in the middle of the attack to start attacking that enemy. Alternate back and forth between enemies to keep increasing your combo. You should get 6 rather easily and net the achievement:

I saved the other combos for the final boss fight and I would advise you to do so as well, although if you get them beforehand that’s also great! Once you have defeated all the enemies, a helicopter will appear looking to take Bolt down. Avoid the machine gun fire of the helicopter by running back and forth and using sprint (cn_RB) when necessary. After the machine gun fire has stopped the helicopter will fire a volley of missiles. You will be prompted to press various buttons to have Bolt dodge the missiles (cn_A,cn_Y,cn_X,cn_B,cn_A,cn_A), one button per missile volley. After you have dodged the second round of machine gun fire the helicopter will once again turn to missiles. This time once you have successfully mashed the right buttons (cn_B,cn_A,cn_X,cn_A,cn_A,cn_X) Bolt will catch a missile and turn it back around on the helicopter to send it on its way and complete the level as well as the portion of the game that takes place in Italy and unlocking the achievement:

BELIZE

Level 1 – One Thousand Mega Bites

You start in Belize as Bolt. Make your way forward and to the left as you learn to jump and double jump. Get up on the stone bridge and head to the right to trigger a small cut scene. Get off the bridge at the end and make your way up and around the mountain edge. Jump over the chasms in the path and you will eventually come to a small circular grotto with a large tree in the middle. Move to the left and you will see an enemy after jumping up on some rock platforms. Enter the stone arena-like area and defeat the two enemies here to trigger a small cut scene. You will now be introduced to the enemy called “Glovey”. (Well, you saw him in the last level but this was a better entrance) This is the enemy with the electric gloves. He is susceptible to all attacks. There are two achievements you can get with glovey. First, allow him to beat you down and once you’re toast you will net the achievement:

When you respawn, this time you will want to beat Glovey down with normal dash attacks and/or ground pounds until the B icon appears above his head. Now approach him and press cn_B, then press either of the four buttons cn_A,cn_B,cn_X,cn_Y to perform a finishing move on him. This will net you the following achievement:

Continue to fight the enemies that climb over the wall until they have all been defeated. Once they are done spawning Bolt will learn the Superbark skill. Use cn_LT to break down the large wooden gate with the superbark. Collect the Power Upgrade (1/3) immediately to the left on the ground as you exit through the gate.

Continue to the right and onto the stone bridge. A land mine will break the bridge in a small cut scene as you approach it. Jump down on to the lower section of the destroyed bridge and jump off to the right. Collect the Power Upgrade (2/3) lying directly in your path as you get off the bridge. Make your way up the path being careful to avoid being hurt by the mines on the path. Move just close enough to trigger then then move away. You will come to a wooden obstacle in your way. Use Superbark to destroy it. After the cut scene move ahead but stay on the top ledge instead of dropping down to the enemies below to collect the final Power Upgrade (3/3) located on the edge of the top ledge directly above the enemies. Once you have collected it, drop down to the enemies and defeat them to trigger a cut scene where your old friend helicopter returns.

The helicopter will begin to fire on you after the cut scene. Use cn_RB to sprint across the bridge to your left. Once in the stone grotto area at the end of the bridge, hold out to defeat the helicopter. As the helicopter fires missiles you can use superbark to turn the missiles back around on the helicopter to defeat it. Alternatively you can just strafe left and right to avoid the missiles and then bark at the helicopter when it comes close to damage it. In any case, once it is defeated you can move out of the grotto via the path exposed after the helicopter fight.

Jump the chasms and follow the path until you come to a clearing at the bottom of some stairs littered with mines. Sprint through the minefield using cn_RB to reach the stairs. At the top of the stairs you will run into more enemies and a mini-boss fight.

This enemy is “Starry” and he is too fast to be attacked with a normal dash attack. To defeat him you first have to stun him with a superbark and while he is stunned attack him with dash attacks. As you fight him he will jump up onto stone ledges and throw stars/daggers at you. Get him down from these ledges by superbarking at the base of the ledge and destroying it. There are 4 ledges to destroy. Once the ledges are destroyed and you have hit him a few times he will retreat to the large ledge at the back of the stone area. At this time Bolt will learn the supercharged ability. To use supercharged abilities, click cn_LSc and cn_RSc together and then use a normal ability. You will have supercharged abilities until your on-screen timer runs out. You charge your supercharge meter by defeating enemies with combos. When it is filled a lightning bolt will appear in the middle of it.

Continue to defeat enemies until the supercharge meter is filled. When it is filled, move to the back of the area and click cn_LSc and cn_RSc together. Use a supercharged superbark to destroy the enemy standing on the wall as well as the wall itself and end the level.

Level 2 – Raisin’ A Ruckus

You start this level as Penney. Stealth is key in this mission as it is one of the two missions where going undetected will net you an achievement.

Start the level by moving forward and to the left to go up the stairs being sure to collect the Gadget Upgrade (1/3) to the right of the stairs. In front of you are two stone pillars on a wall where Penney can use the wheelbar. Go to the top of the wall and move along to trigger a cut scene showing two enemies. Jump down off the wall and wait for one enemy to start walking around the stone pillar in the middle. With one enemy walking away use camo and a gas mine to defeat the stationary enemy. If you have enough energy you can follow the second enemy and defeat him with a gas mine as well. Otherwise use cn_RB to sneak up behind him and use a stealth attack. In either case remain undetected.

Use the small block to get up on top of the large stone block in the middle of the area and jump across to the temple with the two circular stones on top. Use the wheelbar to trigger a cut scene, raise another temple in the distance and open a gate in the courtyard below. Get down off the temple and go through the newly opened gate. Attach the wheelbar to the cable to glide to the landing below or simply jump off. Jump over the river in front of you to the next area to trigger a cut scene.

There are two enemies in this area. Use camo and send a gas mine in to take care of both enemies. Move ahead and a cut scene will trigger where Bolt has most enemies on the run. Use camo again (making sure your energy bar is mostly filled) to go across the bridge and defeat the lone enemy on the bridge, still undetected. Move to the left near the stone canopy that spans the river and collect the Gadget Upgrade (2/3) hidden behind the large stone to the left of the canopy. Stand in the middle of the raised platform under the canopy and double jump to attach the wheelbar to the underside of the canopy. Slide all the way to the left and jump down. Follow the path along until you come to a wall with three snake heads spewing water. Move to the wall and attach the wheelbar to the ledge. Use enhanced vision if you are having trouble finding it. Slide under the snake heads and trigger a cut scene showing a single enemy around the corner. Use camo to sneak up to the enemy and defeat him with a stealth attack or a gas mine. Jump up on some rock ledges to the left of the stone area where you defeated the enemy and you will see a lever with a cn_B icon prompt. Tap cn_B to activate the lever and remove the stone blocking the wheelbar path to the top of the temple. Hurry back to the temple in the clearing and use the wheelbar to get to the top. Insert the wheelbar between the circular stones and raise the temple in the distance. Move off the temple roof with the circular stones by taking a path to the right. Jump onto the stone archway and make your way to the right and a cable that you can use to wheelbar down to ground level. Go to the left to find a lever you can activate by tapping cn_B. Activate the lever to have stone slates cover the water pit ahead of you. Cross the water pit and move across the stone bridge ahead of you. Follow the path to the right until you come to a wall with more waterfalls. Attach the wheelbar to the ledge on the wall and go under the waterfalls. Drop down on the other side and follow the path along until you come to a lever with the cn_B icon over it.

Activate the lever and the temple in front of you will slide out. Walk down into the grassy pit and collect the Gadget Upgrade (3/3) on the right side of the pit near the brown odd shaped rock. Go to the slot in the temple and use the wheelbar to get to the second level. Activate the lever here to reveal a third lever on the ground, but notice that the temple moves out to cover it up! Go back to the first lever and activate it again. The temple will retreat to reveal the third lever. Activate the third lever to get the temple in a perfect line to reach the roof. Use the wheelbar now to get to the top. Activate the circular stones on top of the temple and another temple appears. Move straight ahead across the stone bridge and when you are on the other temple the stone bridge will retract. There are two levers on this new temple, one to the left and one to the right. Activate the lever to the left and once you have finished cranking it, quickly move to the lever on the right. After you pass, a large vertical stone slab moves out of the temple behind you. Activate the lever on the right and once you have finished cranking it move back to the first stone slab that appeared and hug close to it. Another stone slab will appear out of the temple behind you. When you are wedged between both stone slabs use the wheelbar to get to the top of the temple and trigger a cut scene.

When you are back in control you will see a cn_B icon ahead of you. This is your first attempt at hacking. Press cn_B to hack the system. This will take you to a mini-game where you control tank on a 2D board that must destroy enemy tanks. In this mini-game you control movement by using cn_LSc and you control your shooting with cn_RSc. If you successfully complete this mini-game without taking any damage you will net the achievement:

If you DID take damage you can always replay the missions any time from the main menu once they are unlocked. Once you complete the hack mini-game (this one counts towards the hacking achievements – 1/15 Hack Levels won), the BELIZE DATABASE mini-game is unlocked and you net the achievement for hacking a system:

Completing the hack will also complete the level. If you were successful in not being detected you also net the achievement:

Level 3 – Into The Deep

You start this level as Bolt in the middle of some enemies. Fight the enemies being careful NOT to do a ground pound. Use a super bark to break the skull decoration on the left wall of the room and collect the Power Upgrade (1/3) hiding in there. Defeat all the enemies once you have this upgrade and then use a ground pound to break through the floor.

When you land on the floor below you will have to fight some other enemies including an enemy called a Starry. Starry is the same enemy you defeated to end Level 1 in Belize, but this time you get to beat him good. He will dodge your normal dash attacks so use a ground pound or a super bark to stun him and then attack him with X. When he is beaten down and you see the cn_B icon above his head, move in and perform a finishing move to net the achievement:

Defeat the enemies until no more respawn in. Destroy the skull ornament on the right hand wall and do a ground pound on the button on the floor. Steps will come out of the wall. Quickly go up these steps and at the top you will find the “Nano Arena” Hack (1/1). You can complete this hack from the mini-game section of the main menu. Go back to the skull ornament on the left wall of the ground level and destroy it with a super bark. Ground pound the button on the floor and use cn_RB and jump to sprint safely across the retreating plates of rock. Grab the Health Upgrade (1/3) in the corner near the vases and wooden door in the floor. Do a ground pound on the wooden boards covering the hole and you will fall through to the next level down.

Destroy the skull ornament on the left wall with a super bark and do a ground pound on the button on the floor. Ascend the steps that come out of the wall and grab the Health Upgrade (2/3) at the top. Go back to the main room. In this room are three symbols on the floor. Ground pound each symbol to light the candles on the wall and open a door on the right hand side of the room. Go through the door.

Ground pound the symbol on the floor and be prepared for a race. Use cn_RB to sprint across the retreating rock plates while still picking up the Power Upgrade (2/3) hiding behind the first flat vertical rock on the left. Destroy the wooden planks at the end of the path with a ground pound and drop to the next level.

When you hit the floor you will be faced with a number of enemies as well as some stone pillars at the back of the room that spit fireballs at you. Make it a priority to use supercharged super barks to destroy these pillars first to stop the fireball barrage. Once these are destroyed continue to defeat all enemies in the area. Be sure to destroy the leftmost and rightmost walls in this room. There is a Health Upgrade (3/3) behind the left wall and there is a Power Upgrade (3/3) behind the right wall. Once you have cleaned out all the enemies a cut scene will trigger and two new enemies will enter the area. These are “Proddy” enemies. You can dash attack these enemies but they will start to block your attacks and counter attack after a few hits. They are also vulnerable just before they attack. Use super bark or ground pound to stun them and then attack them. Another effective attack against these enemies is an cn_X cn_Y combo as they are unable to block it. Be sure to defeat at least one of these two Proddy enemies with a finishing move to net the achievement:

Once both Proddy are defeated Bolt will acquire the Laser Eyes skill (cn_LB). Use a supercharged laser eye blast to trigger a cut scene where Bolt destroys the pillars holding the room together and Bolt will fall through the floor. Once the bad guys capture Penney the level is complete.

Level 4 – Take Out The Trash

You start this level as Bolt in the middle of some enemies (again). Bolt now has all three of his primary attack skills: super bark, ground pound and laser eyes. Focus on defeating 3 enemies with each of the three primary attack skills. The best way to do this (because the skills are not upgraded yet) is to beat an enemy down until they are vulnerable to a finishing move, then hit them with the primary skill. It may still take a few hits with that skill to defeat the enemy. Once you have beaten 3 enemies with each of ground pound, super bark and laser eyes you will net an achievement:

You will have to get this achievement on the way to finishing the game anyway as there are achievements for defeating 100 enemies with each of the skills, but I wanted to get this one out of the way for you early.

Defeat the enemies and move to the edge of the chasm on the right side. There will be a cn_B icon there. Hold cn_B to use Bolts laser eyes to create a path across the chasm. Once on the other side of the chasm head to the far left and there will be a Health Upgrade (1/3) waiting on top of some rocks. Jump to get it. Head to the large stone pillar at the back center of the area and notice the two buttons on the floor in front of the tall pillar. Stand on the button to the right and use laser eyes to light the candle. When the candle is lit move to the stone pillar between the buttons and tap cn_B to pull the pillar out. This will lower the large stone pillar. Use cn_RB to sprint up the path to the left and jump onto the pillar. As the pillar starts to rise, press and hold cn_RT to become invincible and destroy the stone statue above you. When you reach the platform where the statue stood, you will be faced with a barrage of enemies.

Defeat these enemies and a new path will open up for you but don’t take it just yet. At the back of the platform you are on is a door with two large statues on either side. Go outside of and behind the statue on the right and you will find a Power Upgrade (1/3). From where you collected the Power Upgrade, jump to the ledge with the burning torch and follow it around to collect the “Micro Arena” Hack (1/1). You can complete this hack from the main menu in mini-games.

Return to where the pillar raised you to the platform and head to the left. Jump across from the platform to the rock with the flaming snake head. Run through the snakes head timing it right so as not to get burned and follow the path to the top of the snakes head. Use laser eyes to burn the roots out of the path and jump across to the platform at the bottom of the stone pillar. From there, jump down to the ground level where the enemies are. Use cn_B to attack some enemies when near the edge of the platform and cn_B again to toss them over the edge (you can’t control direction so it doesn’t always work). You need to toss 25 in total either through windows or over cliffs for an achievement. When these are defeated jump across the rocks that have fallen in place for you making sure not to stay on them too long as they fall. When you arrive on terra firma once again you will find yourself in front of a stone head statue.

Follow the path to the right and jump through two fire breathing snake heads being careful to time the jumps just right. Collect the Health Upgrade (2/3) in the back corner after going through the first snake head. When you get to the other side a cut scene will trigger and you will have to face some enemies. Defeating the enemies will reveal a pressure plate. Ground pound the pressure plate to get some things moving back at the stone head statue.

Head back the way you came and look to Bolts right to find a cn_B icon in a large nook in the wall. Tap cn_B to pull some steps out of the wall. Use the steps to reach the top of the wall and find the cn_B icon to use laser eyes to destroy a pillar and the fire-breathing snake heads in the process. Jump across to the platform where you just destroyed the pillar using the retreating steps. Follow the path to the left to get back to the stone head statue. Once again use laser eyes to light the snake head candle and once again pull the statue forward. This time you will lower the pillar and have to race to get up on it before it rises. Race to the right and go through the lone snake head. Turn left and go up the ramp and jump from platform to platform to get on the pillar while being sure to collect the Power Upgrade (2/3) on the last platform before you jump onto the pillar. Trigger invincibility once again when the pillar starts to rise. When the dust settles you will be on a platform surrounded by enemies.

Defeat the enemies and head up the ramp to where the stone snake head is. Move through it and jump to the upper platform with the vases. There are two tall square pillars with ledges to the right of the platform you are standing on. Jump to ledge of the left pillar and over the gap in the broken arch to get to the right pillar. Move around the second pillar and onto the remnants of the broken stone arch. You will come to two pillars that are rising and falling. Time your jumps to get to the ledge beyond the second pillar. Use laser eyes to burn the roots out of the path and in the next area ground pound the button on the floor. Go back out of this area and use the ledges on the face of the cliff to the right to get back to the jaguar head statue that rose out of the ground when you did the ground pound on the button. At the statue near the edge of the cliff look for the cn_B icon to use laser eyes to light the candle in the raised jaguar head.

Head to the far left now and jump up to the roots blocking the path. To the right of here and towards the wall of the cave you will see a Power Upgrade (3/3) sitting above a door. Collect it and return to the roots. Burn them out of the way with laser eyes. Jump down to the level where the enemies are and defeat them. Ground pound the switch to the right of where you jumped down. This raises the second jaguar head. Go back to the base of the wall that you jumped off to get to this area and tap cn_B to pull stairs out of the wall. Follow these stairs around the edge of the cliff while keeping as high as you can go to find the final Health Upgrade (3/3) and get back to the main area.

Defeat or run past the enemies waiting for you here and go to the jaguar head statue. Use Laser Eyes to light the second head and then tap cn_B to pull the statue forward and lowering the second pillar. Race to get to the second pillar by following the same route you took to get to the rising and falling pillars. Race up to the fire breathing snake head and through it. Jump to the arch by the small pillars. When you are between the small pillars make a long jump (cn_A cn_A cn_X) to the large rotating pillar you just lowered. Use invincibility when the pillar rises and the level is complete. This also concludes the levels in Belize and you will net the achievement for completing Belize:

Around this point in the game you will also have defeated close to 250 enemies depending on how many re-tries you needed to undertake etc. In any event you will either have unlocked or will shortly unlock this achievement:

RUSSIA

Level 1 – Chew Chew Train

You start this level as Bolt on a train in Russia. Bolt will have to fight his way to the very front of the train. In the first section of the train there are two enemies to defeat. Take care of these and collect the Health Upgrade (1/3) to the left of the boxes before you climb over them to get to the next section of the train.

On the second section of the train you will encounter a new enemy for the first time. The enemy, “Disky” is aptly named and throws explosive disks at Bolt while you deal with the rest of enemies on the train. The best strategy is to stay towards the back of the rail car and catch the disks with cn_X as they get close to you and then toss them at enemies with cn_Y. Use ground pound to keep enemies away if they surround you. If you get stuck with a disk that you didn’t catch you can use invincibility before it explodes so it doesn’t harm you. When all the enemies are defeated Disky will move on and you can move to the door to advance to the next section of the train.

Section 3 of the train is a button mashing sequence where Bolt (while unseen by you) will rumble through an enclosed train section. There are four buttons in the sequence that you have to get right in order for Bolt to make it out and into Section 4.

In Section 4 you first have to remove a vehicle from your path. Move towards the vehicle and pick up the Health Upgrade (2/3) on the left behind the metal box. Walk up to the vehicle and tap cn_B repeatedly to toss it off the train. Advance up and use cn_RB to race past the cannon fire and ground pound or super bark to destroy it.

Section 5 features another Disky and more enemies making it tougher. If you don’t get the hang of catching and tossing the disks you may be in for some frustration at this point in the game. First, race up the left side using cn_RB and destroy the cannon with a bark or a ground pound. This will make things easier. Move back to the back of the rail car so you can see Disky toss the disks. Catch as many as you can and toss them at enemies while still attacking when you can. Again, if you get stuck with a disk move near a group of enemies and go invincible as the explosion will still hurt them, but not you. Another good tactic is to use ground pound to blast enemies off the rail cars. When all the enemies are defeated Disky will move on and you can enter the rail car.

Section 6 is another button mashing sequence. Again it is four buttons and when executed properly Bolt exits the train and moves into Section 7.

At the beginning of Section 7 you have to use Bolt's laser eyes to cut the chains holding a tank on the rail car and it will fall off clearing your path. Jump over the boxes to reach section 8 and the hardest Disky part of the level. Pick up the “Kilo Arena” Hack (1/1) to the left of the boxes just before you jump over them on your way to Section 8.

In section 8 you are tasked with facing several Proddy enemies as well as the Disky. The strategy is the same here, however you may want to use a supercharge to clear out the first few enemies and make things easier. When the enemies are defeated Disky will move on and you can enter the rail car for section 9.

Section 9 is another button masher, once again it is four buttons. Complete the sequence to reach the 10th and final section of the train.

At the start of the 10th Section you will see some SUV’s sitting on the rail car. Look behind the last SUV’s to find a Health Upgrade (3/3). Move to the tanks and press cn_B to enter a button mashing sequence where Bolt jumps over the exploding tanks. The sequence is 4 buttons long. Push forward until you meet your old friend Disky. Disky will block your dash attack all the time unless he is stunned. He can only be stunned by Ground Pounds. Perform ground pounds around Disky and attack him with cn_X until he blocks again. Repeat this until your energy is low. Defeat normal enemies on the train with you to regain energy and then attack Disky again. Continue until the cn_B appears above his head and then perform a finishing move on him to complete the level and net the achievement:

Level 2 – Slobber And Clobber

You are once again good ‘ol Bolt. Make your way left and approach the path that goes uphill. A cut scene will trigger and a helicopter will drop off enemies for you to defeat. Beat them and move up the hill. Refill your energy at the station if required. Move along the path and stop on the grey pad at the end of the path. Use laser eyes to bring down the tower. You can’t complete this step until all enemies are defeated. Jump to the platform that the tower was resting on and run down the fallen tower. Use the floating ice pans on the left to get to the shore where enemies are waiting. Defeat these. Use the snowy platforms on the right side of the shore to get to the top and jump across to the platform on the left where the energy charge station is. On the far left of this platform is a Power Upgrade (1/3). Stand on the grey pad next to the tower and use laser eyes to bring it down. Run down the fallen tower and at the bottom you will see the “Mega Arena” Hack (1/1) behind a wire fence. Find a hole in the fence just around the outer post and grab it. Run to the face of the hill opposite the wire fence and use ledges on the hill to make it to the road.

Once you are up on the road the helicopter will drop some more enemies including a Disky and a Proddy. Defeat these and then head to the right. At the dead end destroy all the rocks you see and a Power Upgrade (2/3) will appear. Grab it and head back to the left. Jump up on the snowy ledges on the right hand side of the road and use laser eyes to destroy the tower. Run up the tower and drop down into the fenced area. There is a Power Upgrade (3/3) plainly visible in this area. Grab it. Defeat the enemies in the area and Bolt will gain a SuperBark upgrade (not related to power upgrades). A cut scene will trigger where a snow plow crashes through the gate.

There will now be plenty more enemies to deal with and of higher caliber including a Disky and a few Proddy’s. When they have all been defeated a lone enemy will come out of the door from the building on the left. Defeat this enemy and enter the building through that door. This will end the level.

Level 3 – Hide And Sneak

This is the other level where you can get the stealth achievement with Penney. If you have been following the guide to this point you will already have this achievement. If not you should employ stealth techniques here to obtain it.

As Penney, cross the room in the building and exit to the courtyard where Bolt was just fighting. Equip camo and use gas mines to defeat the three enemies here. Go to the gate on the side of the yard opposite the building you came from and use the console to press cn_B and open the gate. Cross the bridge onto the metal platform and use the wheelbar on the vertical pipes on the right side of the platform near the outer railing to reach the top. Wait for the Proddy enemy to have her back to you before you jump on the top. Defeat her with a stealth takedown or gas mine and move to the right side of the platform under the large pipe.

Jump up and attach the wheelbar to the small pipes that run under and parallel to the large pipe and move to the right. Drop down on the snowy bank and move to the right while you get to ground level to avoid detection by the enemy. Go all the way to the right and use the wheelbar to get to the top of the building there to grab the Power Upgrade (1/3). Move back towards the enemies and apply camo to get close enough to defeat them with gas mines without being detected. Follow the road to a large set of rusty vertical pipes. Use the wheelbar to get to the top. Time your entry onto the roof to avoid detection and use camo and gas mines to dispatch the enemy. Climb the ladder at the back of the area with the wheelbar.

Penney will have to swing from the horizontal bars in the metal framework to cross this next area. Double jump onto the first bar and time the jump to the next bar when Penney is fully swinging around the bar. Repeat this until you reach the corner. Perform these same actions on the next set of bars until you reach the platform with the electric wire. Grab the Power Upgrade (2/3).

Connect to the wire with the wheelbar and slide to the bottom, being careful to jump over the electric charges that are flowing up the wire towards you. Use the wheelbar to slide down the railing at the back of the platform where you land. Climb down the ladder to the right and walk all the way to the right to pick up the “Giga Arena” Hack (1/1). Return to the ladder but do not climb it. Instead, attach the wheelbar to the icy pipe to the left of the ladder and ride it left past the locked gate. Jump up and follow the path left until you come to a narrow slot in a very tall wall. Use the wheelbar to get to the top of this wall.

After the cut scene go to the far right and climb up on some rusty barrels. Jump from the barrels and attach the wheelbar to the pipe above. Slide all the way to the left avoiding the enemies and drop down off the pipe to the ledge. Move left to another narrow slot in a tall wall and use the wheelbar to get to the top. Stealthily dispose of the lone enemy here and open the hatch in the roof by tapping the cn_B button as prompted.

Jump inside and slide down the ladder on the wheelbar to the platform below. To the left of the platform, attach the wheelbar to some horizontal pipes and slide left. Jump from that position onto the ductwork. From the ductwork jump onto the hanging horizontal pipe and jump to the other horizontal pipe when the timing is right. Jump again over to the ductwork on the other side of the room. Attach the wheelbar to the horizontal pipe on the wall and slide left until you are facing a grey vertical column on the wall. Drop from the pipe at this point and land on the platform below.

Go to the Brown control panel and press cn_B to begin hacking the system. Win the mini-game to hack the system and unlock Russian Database 01 hack level. (2/15 Hack Levels won). Hacking the system turns off the power to the wire we need to slide down at the top of the building.

Attach the wheelbar to the two vertical pipes to the left of the hack panel and go to the top. Jump up and attach to the pipes above you and slide right before dropping down onto the ductwork. Retrace your steps back to the ladder and slide up to get back on the roof.

When you are back on the roof, attach the wheelbar to the cable to glide to the other side, being careful to jump the electric charges on the cable. Get off the cable at the other end and stand on the wooden crate that is located on the same platform you landed on. Attach to the cable above your head and head left while jumping more electric charges on the cable. Walk down the metal stairway at the back of the platform you land on and use the chunks of ice to jump your way to the helicopter landing pad on the other side. Collect the Power Upgrade (3/3) here and check the cut scene where Disky makes an appearance.

This Disky is a mini-boss. To defeat him, catch the disks he throws at you with cn_RT and then throw them back at Disky with cn_X. Sometimes he will throw out an array of disks on the ground. You simply have to avoid these and wait for him to throw single disks. Once you have defeated him the level is complete.

Level 4 – That Darn Dog

Once again you play as Bolt. It’s a rough start to the level. An alarm system triggers as soon as you move and no less than 8 Proddy enemies come up the elevator to attack in various waves. Build energy and use a supercharge to take care of them when they group together. Before you leave the room, make sure you destroy the machines to find a Health Upgrade (1/3). Open the vault door on the right side of the room (well, destroy the wall) and move outside.

On this section of the bridge you will face many enemies dropped by the helicopter. The bridge is narrow and this is a good opportunity to finish off the achievement for tossing enemies over cliffs or through windows. If you don’t get it here you can take care of it in a clean-up afterwards as I did.

Clean out all the enemies and when they are defeated move to the door at the end of the bridge and break it down. Gather up the Health Upgrade inside (2/3) and move through the next door onto the next bridge section. In this section you will find the “Nano Maze” Hack (1/1) sitting openly in the middle of the bridge as well as a Health Upgrade (3/3) farther down by the exit door. The last of the many enemies in this area is a trio of Disky’s. Defeat these and move on through the door to complete the level.

Level 5 – No Barking Zone

As Bolt, go down the stairs and at the bottom destroy the barrels and wooden pallets under the stairs to find a Power Upgrade (1/3). Move through the door at the bottom of the stairs and defeat the enemies here. Go to the end of the room and go up the stairs there. Behind the barrels at the top of the stairs is another Power Upgrade (2/3). Defeat the enemies and then use the elevator at the end of the room opposite the stairs.

When you arrive on the second floor you will have to defeat some enemies. Break the glass to gain entry into the room on your left and destroy everything inside. In the process you will pick up both a Power Upgrade (3/3) and the “Micro Maze” Hack (1/1). Defeat the enemies in this first wave and on the right side of the area look for a cn_B icon to pull a lever type deal away and expose the generator turbine #1. Another wave of enemies spawns. Defeat these enemies and pull on either of the other two levers to expose another generator turbine. The third wave of enemies spawns in. Again, defeat these and when they are no longer an issue you can raise the third and final turbine cover. Unbelievably, a fourth wave will spawn in and you will also have to defeat these! Finally with all enemies vanquished make your way back to the elevator and guess what? Another enemy crashes through the elevator doors.

This enemy is new and its name is “Bully”. He will come with a few other normal enemies. Bully will block your dash attack after a few hits. Like other enemies, stun him with laser eyes or a ground pound and then attack him. Repeats this until the cn_B appears over his head then perform a finishing move on him to net the achievement:

Defeat the remaining enemies and Bolt will get an upgrade to the Ground Pound attack. Head back downstairs in the elevator. There will be a few enemies here for you to defeat. Ignore them and just focus on the spinning turbines you exposed earlier. Do a ground pound inside each of the three generators by jumping out over the spinning turbine and pressing cn_RT. You will destroy the turbine by doing so. Destroy each generator turbine to complete the level and net the achievement:

Level 6 – A Penney Saved

As Penney move straight ahead and jump up on the two frozen ledges ahead of you to get to the base of the concrete wall. Go right and jump up unto the path with the wooden crates. Jump across the gap onto the snowy pillar and jump from there over to the platform next to the building. Move to the wall and jump to attach your wheelbar to the top of the wall. Slide all the way to the right and jump up into the nook with the red light to trigger a cut scene.

Attach your wheelbar between the two vertical pipes and get onto the roof. Stealth is not required here, you can easily defeat the enemies with button mashing (1 button) but camo and gas mines are a failsafe option at this point. On the left edge of the wall directly over the ledge where you first attached the wheelbar are more vertical pipes. Use the wheelbar to get down to the walkway below and move into the control room where you will complete a hack and unlock Russia Database 02 (3/15 Hack Levels won).

Go back to the rooftop and near the satellite dish on the left side of the roof you will find a level to crank. Crank the lever to bring the satellite dish upright. Get up on the dish and attach your wheelbar to the cable to slide to the top of a tower and trigger a cut scene.

Use the wheelbar to slide down the other cable attached to the tower and get on the ground. Use camo and gas mines to defeat the enemies in the immediate area and then use the wheelbar to attach to the vertical beams on the tower in the middle of the yard to get to the tower. Smash the glass and go inside to pick up the Gadget Upgrade (1/3).

Get back to ground level and go to the back right hand corner of the yard and get up on the wooden boxes stacked there. Attach the wheelbar to the edge above you and go to the right to get a Gadget Upgrade (2/3). Use the wheelbar to go left on this same edge. Just past the large concrete outcrop that you pass under you will come to two vertical pipes above you. Jump up and attach the wheelbar to these pipes to get to the area above and collect the “Kilo Maze” Hack (1/1).

Get back down onto the horizontal edge and go left as far as you can. Get down from the pipe and jump up on the edge of the tank. Use cn_B to crank the lever and turn off the steam. Drop down here to pick up the last Gadget Upgrade (3/3) of the level.

On the ground, use the crank here to turn off the last of the steam and attach to the vertical pipes where previously the steam was blocking you. Slide all the way to the top and crank the lever on top of the tank to turn of the steam there. Get down to the next tank top where a helicopter will (oddly) drop off a single enemy to face you. Defeat him and turn off the steam on this tank by cranking the lever. Get down on the walkway and jump up on the large wooden boxes and then up onto the yellow boxes. Move left and get onto the concrete walkway and move around the corner. Use camo and a gas mine to defeat the enemy and open the door. Level complete.

Level 7 – Base Thumpin’

As with so many other levels where Bolt is involved, several enemies will be waiting for you as you start the level. Before you deal with them, go to the back left corner of the room and destroy the stack of pallets here to collect a Health Upgrade (1/3). From here, run to the opposite corner of the room and destroy the red barrels that are sitting next to two forklifts to pick up a Power Upgrade (1/2). Destroy the forklifts right next to you to obtain a Health Upgrade (2/3). Move to the front of the truck on the right hand side of the room. Find the cn_B prompt and tap cn_B to pull the truck ahead and block the green door. Behind the truck you will now find a glass wall. Break the wall and go inside the room to collect the “Mega Maze” Hack (1/1). Go to the back of the truck on the left side of the room and destroy the stack of pallets to obtain a Power Upgrade (2/2). Lastly, go to the forklift in the back left corner and destroy it to obtain the last collectible as Bolt in this level, a Health Upgrade (3/3).

Get to the front of the truck on the left side of the room and tap cn_B when prompted to pull the truck ahead so that it covers the green door. Once both doors are blocked you will get a cut scene where a new large enemy introduces himself. This is a Stompy enemy. He will attempt to roll over you. Avoid the rolling attack and stun him with super barks before you attack. Whittle his energy down and finish him off by hitting cn_B and then cn_Y to net the achievement:

When the enemies are defeated with Bolt, you will switch to playing with Penney.

Right away you see a Gadget Upgrade (1/3). Grab it. Jump onto the rack of pipe to the left and locate the pole sticking out from the wall. Use this pole to swing to the next pole and then on to the duct work. Move left and down onto the HVAC unit then jump left onto another pole to swing from there onto the platform. Behind the boxes to the left on the platform is a Gadget Upgrade (2/3). Use the wheelbar to attack and destroy the fan to the right of the door. Walk into the duct and use your wheelbar to go up and onto the roof.

As you walk along the catwalk grab the Gadget Upgrade (3/3) on your left before you turn the corner. Continue around the catwalk to defeat the enemy by the crane. Crank the crane lever with cn_B and drop the cannon to the ground. You briefly switch to Bolt here where he climbs in the cannon and you fire him through the wall. Level complete.

Level 8 – Doggie Demolition

Grab the Power Upgrade (1/4) right in front of you as you start. Next, destroy the pallets and the forklift on right side of the room near the middle. They will reveal a Power Upgrade under each one (2/4 & 3/4). Next, destroy the pallets on the left side of the room towards the back wall to find the final Power Upgrade (4/4). Defeat all the enemies here and Bolt's Laser Eyes will get an upgrade. Stand near the back of the room and find the cn_B prompt. Use laser eyes to cut a hole in the tall pipe and then use a super bark to break the pipe open. Move into the pipe and immediately begin to sprint down the tunnel with cn_RB to avoid being trapped by the gates. You will reunite with Penney and start playing as her character.

Move straight ahead across the circular platform and hack the system there. Once you have successfully hacked it, move to the machine on the left side of the platform and hack it too. Once you have hacked the machine, jump on top of it and use your wheelbar to glide to the top and pick up the “Giga Maze” Hack (1/1) on the way. At the top, slide all the way to the left and pick up the Gadget Upgrade (1/3). Be careful of steam at all times. Now slide all the way to the right and jump up to attach to the pair of vertical pipes. At the top, slide to the right again until you come to another set of vertical pipes. Jump up and around the vertical pipe and attach to the same horizontal pipe you just jumped from. Continue to slide all the way to the right until you can go no farther. Use the vertical pipes here to reach another horizontal pipe. Again go right and attach to the vertical pipes above the large fan in the wall. Jump up onto the platform.

Drop down to the left of the platform and finish off the enemies and continue on to get a Gadget Upgrade (2/3). Return to the platform you originally came from and go to the right. Defeat the enemies and continue until you come to two staggered posts sticking out of the wall. Swing from one post to the other picking up the Gadget Upgrade (3/3) along the way. Swing onto the platform and hack the system there to unlock Russia Database 03 (4/15 Hack Levels won). Use the wheelbar to get down from the platform to the newly opened walkway below and move into the ductwork to complete the level.

Level 9 – Pup Up and Away

In this level you are on a rocket trying to bring it down. Move forward a little to get around the tail fin on your left and rotate the rocket clockwise (by moving to the left) until you see a yellow panel. Move to it and use laser eyes while moving the cn_LSc around to cut the panel open. Hit cn_Y to tear the panel off and tap cn_B to tear out the wires. You may have to hit a single button when the rocket attempts to shake you off. Move right and forward to get around the fins again and then rotate the rocket the same way to find the next yellow panel. Perform the same sequence and the rocket will dismantle into two parts. Now, move to the very front of the rocket and grab the Health Upgrade (1/1). Use cn_Y to blow off the yellow cover up here and use cn_B to grab a zipper like device. Move the zipper to the left and then back towards the end of the rocket to remove the warhead.

Move back to the yellow stripe on the rocket below the window where Penney is and use laser eyes to cut the rocket in half by rotating it all the way around. Now you have to save Penney. Slide back to the bottom of her window and use laser eyes to cut the window frame all around. Then you will have to hit cn_Y a number of times to smash the window. When the window is smashed the level is over. This also concludes all the missions in Russia which will unlock the following achievement:

CHINA

Level 1 – Barging In

As Penney, go to the security system on the right and use the non-lethal weapon to take out the two enemies that you can see. Exit the system and use the wheelbar to rise to the top of the ladder. At the top activate camo and use a gas mine to defeat the enemy here. A little ahead and to the left is a control panel where you can use cn_B to bring the monorail towards you. Activate it. Go to the monorail now and attach the wheelbar to it and slide all the way across. Drop down on the red platform and head down the cables on the wheelbar to the container below. Move to the wall on the right and attach the wheelbar to the ledge. Slide a little to the left to find an opening in the railing and jump up in this area. Defeat any enemies in this area (I've noticed that there are 2 enemies here on some playthroughs, other times there are none). Move to the container on the right and open it. (Left container is useless). Move forward through the container and activate camo while using gas mines to defeat the two enemies. You should be able to see a Gadget Upgrade here between two containers. Open the container on the right to get the first Gadget Upgrade (1/3).

Open the container on the left to form a narrow slow between the open doors where you can attach the wheelbar. Attach between the open doors and glide to the top while picking up the Gadget Upgrade (2/3) on the way. Move to the left and jump from here to the next container on the left. Drop down to the left from this container and continue left to find two enemies to defeat. Take care of these and move to the rotating platform. Make your way across the platform and pick up the Gadget Upgrade (3/3) in front of you.

Drop down onto the ship's deck and head towards the bow. There will be 5 enemies here in total. Use a combination of camo and gas mines to defeat them or go in guns blazing and defeat them via button mash (1 button). When they are all defeated a ladder will fall to the deck from the next level. Use the wheelbar on the ladder to ascend to the deck above. In the middle of this walkway is another ladder. Use this ladder (and wheelbar) to reach the top deck of the ship. Defeat the lone enemy here and hack the system at the base of the mast to complete the ladder to the top.

Climb the ladder with the wheelbar and use the security system here to take out some enemies. Attach the wheelbar to the electric cables being careful not to get zapped. Move across the cables and get down on the platform at the other side. Defeat the enemies that come at you and move back towards the rusty smokestack. To the left of the stack you will find a break in the railing you can use to get down to the deck below. Descend to the deck below and go to the right to find some poles you will use to swing across to the wire platform to grab the “Nano Teleport” Hack (1/1). From the platform swing across to the containers and use the security system to take out the enemies on the platform above you. Get up on the platform and move to the back wall where you will attach the wheelbar to the narrow slot in the wall. In the room above, take out the three enemies and hack the system on the back wall near the elevator. When you have hacked the system the elevator doors will open and you will have unlocked China Database. (5/15 Hack Levels won) Enter the elevator to end the level. For beating five of the bonus hack levels you get an achievement!

Level 2 – Belly Up

Using Bolt, defeat the enemies that spawn in the area until the gate in the middle of the floor opens up. Perform a ground pound on this gate to drop into the area below. In this area you will have to tear 4 valves off of pipes to flood the ship with water. Go to the right and tear the valve off the pipe as prompted. This will spawn in a wave of enemies. Defeat these enemies and then on the same side of the ship towards the back of the room tear off the second valve. This will start a piston that you have to destroy and it will also spawn in more enemies. Use the wooden crates at the back right of the room to make your way to the top deck of the room and move towards the right to find the piston. When it is raised jump inside it and use invincibility (cn_RT) to destroy it while collecting the Power Upgrade (1/3) inside.

Jump off the ledge and back down to the deck below. Defeat the enemies that spawned after you destroyed the last valve. Run to the valve on the left side of the room near the entrance to the room and tear it off. Defeat the next wave of enemies that spawn in and then tear off the final valve to start the second piston pumping.

Again, use the crates at the back right of the room to get to the top level. Turn around and do a long jump to the platform above the exit from the room. An enemy will be behind some glass on this platform. Break the glass and go inside to get the “Micro Teleport” Hack (1/1). Defeat the enemy and continue to the left side of the room on the top level. Move to the piston and destroy it with invincibility while collecting the Health Upgrade (1/1) inside. An enemy will come through a door on the right side of the room which is your way out. Defeat the enemy along the way.

In this next area you will have to destroy the 4 red alarm globes on the back wall with super barks. Go to the bottom floor and take out the alarm on the left and the right side of the door. You can fight the enemies if you choose but it is not necessary. Use the lift on the right side of the room to get back to the top level. Use the hanging platforms to make your way towards the back wall of the room above the door. Using the platforms to the left and right of center, use super barks to take out the last 2 alarms and open the door. Bolt will now get a laser eyes upgrade and somehow be transferred to the bottom floor. Go back to the top floor again and use the platforms to collect the Power Upgrade (2/3) above the door. You will have to long jump from the center platform to reach it. Move into the next area.

In this area you will have to raise the water level to get to the pistons above. First, defeat the Disky’s to save you a lot of frustration. When they are defeated, move to the wooden pallet on the right side of the room near the door where you came in. Tap cn_B when prompted to tear a valve off the pipe and start raising the water level. Flying enemies will spawn in. Defeat these with super barks. Move to the floating pallet in the back left of the room. Destroy the valve on this pipe by tapping cn_B when prompted to raise the water a little further. More flying enemies will spawn so destroy them as well. Destroy the valve in the back right corner of the room and finally the valve in the left side of the room nearest the entrance. These last two valves will get the pistons on both sides of the room pumping. When destroying the last valve you will have noticed a platform above the valve. Use the platform to get to the top level where the piston is and collect the Power Upgrade (3/3) to the left as you arrive on the top level. Destroy the piston on the left side of the room and the water level will raise a little more.

Move from the left side of the room to the right side and get to the second level from one of the floating pallets. Destroy this last piston to complete the level and net the achievement:

Level 3 – Pound For Pound

Move Bolt forward and destroy the gate to the right with a super bark. Move through the gate and around the corner to the left. Defeat (or run away from) the enemies that come over the containers. Move around the corner to the left and get on top of the container in front of you by using the wooden crates to the left. Two enemies will come out of the rusty container to the right. Again, defeat or avoid them and move into the container and bump the doors open to get down on the ground on the other side.

Move ahead a little and a vehicle (SUV) will come screaming down the road at you. Get in front of it and let it run over you. Boom. Achievement unlocked!

After this, it is important to destroy all the SUVs that you see as there is another achievement for doing this. Destroy SUVs by going invincible as they run over you.

You will respawn in the container once again having been run over by the SUV. Get down to ground level once again and move forward. This time as the SUV approaches, get in its path and press cn_RT to go invincible and destroy it (1/7).

Destroy the barrels on the pallet being held by the forklift to the right of where you destroyed the SUV to find a Health Upgrade (1/4). Once you have defeated all the enemies in the area, destroy the gate to the right of the forklift with a super bark and move into the alley. Be prepared as an SUV will come hurtling down the alley. Destroy it (2/7) and defeat or evade the enemies that gather here. Continue down the alley and destroy the SUV that arrives before you get a chance to get out of the alley (3/7). A cut scene will trigger and you will have to fight some enemies in an open parking lot type area. Grab the Health Upgrade (2/4) to the left of the lot before moving on. Defeat the enemies and move onto the dock.

Go left between the yellow and black rails and into a laneway in front of a building. A garage door will open and two SUV’s will roar out of the garage in your direction. The first will stay to the right, the other slightly to the left. Be sure to destroy each one with invincibility to claim both towards the achievement (4/7 & 5/7).

Without fighting the enemies that appear (unless you are so inclined) run towards the garage and do a ground pound near the ramp to the garage where the SUVs came out. This will cause a roof to collapse to your left and you will be able to use the collapsed roof as a ramp to get to the top of the building. Leave the enemies behind and go to the top of the building via the new roof. Use a super bark to destroy the window to your right as you get onto the roof. Jump through the window and into the building.

You will land on some boxes when you enter the building. Go left from where you jumped into the building to find a Health Upgrade (3/4) on top of the boxes. Jump down to ground level and move forward. The enemy with the whips will emerge. Fight and defeat this enemy as well as the others that spawn and move down off the main level to a lower level to the right. Motorcycles will come at you through the garage door. There is nothing special for defeating these but invincibility will defeat them. Defeat all the enemies and Bolt will get an upgrade to the ground pound attack and the garage door will open in front of you.

Move out onto the waterfront area and before you get too far an SUV will come speeding at you. Destroy it (6/7) and move up. Run past the enemies and as you near the corner of the fruit stands to your left another SUV will come around the corner. Destroy it to net the achievement:

Continue down the waterfront and move as far right (towards the water) as you can go. Head towards the right and in that bottom right corner of the area you will find a Health Upgrade (4/4). Head down the alley that is visible from the location where the Health Upgrade was. Again, it is not necessary to defeat enemies here, you can run past them all. As you progress down the alley another SUV will come down the alley toward you. Destroy it and continue on. As soon as you exit the alley turn to the right and pick up the “Kilo Teleport” Hack (1/1). Cross the bridge into the stone courtyard and defeat the enemies in the area. When they are all defeated Bolt will use a super bark to break down a wall and the level is complete.

Level 4 – Fetchin’ Train

This entire level is played as Bolt on top of a train. The objective is to reach the front of the train. As Bolt moves up the train each section of the train will have three cannons firing down the train at Bolt in repeatable patterns. Determine the pattern of the shots and dodge the missiles left and right while moving forward. When you get close to the cannons they retreat into the train and you can move to the next section. There are two areas where you will be alerted to a Low Bridge. As the bridge nears use invincibility to destroy the bridge and come out unscathed. The last section of missiles cannot be dodged and you will have to use invincibility each time a missile volley is fired at you until you get to the cannons to make them retreat. When you reach the front of the train you will have to face your old friend helicopter again.

The helicopter will fire two rounds of two missiles at you before flying in close to the train where it is vulnerable to attack. Stand at the very front of the train. When the helicopter fires the first volley of two missiles, use super bark as they approach to destroy them. The energy you get from destroying the missiles replenishes a lot of what you lost in the super bark effort. Repeat this for the second missile volley. After this the helicopter will fly in close to the train. When it is directly in front of you hit it with your laser eyes one time. Repeat this effort until the helicopter is destroyed and the level is complete.

This is also the last mission in China and completing the mission unlocks the achievement:

OCEANIA

Level 1 – Ruffin It

You play as Bolt. Follow the grassy trail to the right and around the corner. Jump over the break in the path and use cn_RB to sprint past the land mines. At the end of the path you will come to a grey concrete-like building and a load of enemies will come out of it. Defeat all the enemies and Bolt will obtain a bark upgrade. A door in the grey building opens and can be used as a platform.

Run to the small hill behind the energy refill station and follow the winding path to the top of the hill. Jump from the hill onto the platform and grab the Health Upgrade (1/3) on the platform. Next, jump from the platform to the path on the other side with the energy refill station. Continue to follow the path left making sure to jump over the various holes in the path until you come to the walkway with the red lasers.

Get onto the walkway and continue forward while avoiding the lasers. Getting caught in them will cause the floor to fall out from underneath you and you will have to restart. Once you are past the last set of lasers you will come to another clearing with another grey tower. Enemies will pour out of this one as well. Defeat them and the door to the tower will rise to create a platform as it did with the last tower. Destroy the wooden boxes here next to the laser platform before moving on to collect a Health Upgrade (2/3).

Jump to the island to the left of the tower and move to the top step of the path. Jump from here to the tower door and from the door to the path on the right. Continue along the path to the left around the outside edge of the hill until you come to more lasers. Pass these lasers and destroy the boxes in the circular area at the end of the laser field to gather the “Mega Teleport” Hack (1/1).

On the right hand side of the circular area jump up on the sloped concrete wall and onto the platform past the sloped wall. Get through the first laser and continue down the path. An enemy will jump down behind you and trigger the laser security. Sprint down the rest of the path with cn_RB before the bottom falls out from underneath you. Jump onto the circular platform. The platform will start to rise.

As the platform rises through several rings containing rotating laser fields, move around the platform to avoid the lasers as you pass through the rings. When the platform reaches the top destroy the boxes to obtain a Health Upgrade (3/3). This will unlock the achievement:

Run down the ramp to the area in front of the building and prepare to fight some enemies. Once all the enemies have been defeated the level is complete.

Level 2 – Time To Flea

Penney and Bolt have lost their wheelbar and super powers respectively. You will have to get them back in the coming levels.

You start as Bolt inside a cage/box. Use cn_X to move the box from side to side and use cn_A to make the box sit on its end / on its side. Push the box all the way to the right until its up against the metal pipe. Use cn_A to turn the box onto its end and move it tight against the pipe again. Push the box towards the back wall by going into the narrow pipes. When you get to the back wall push the box to the left past the steam. Return the box to its flat side and push it left under the pipe emitting steam. When you pass the second pipe emitting steam you will see a wire fence with two openings separated by a pipe. Turn the box onto it’s again and push it in through one of the two openings. Return the box to its flat side and move all the way to the right until you see a door. Flip the box back up onto its end and move the box out through the door and past the steam. Push the box to the right until you see Penney and a blue light in the back right corner of the room. Maneuver the box into this blue light. You will now play as Penney.

Jump up onto the box Bolt just placed in the corner and jump up to attach the wheelbar to the ledge above you. Flip up and onto the wooden structure. Jump to the crate on your left and continue left until you come to a pipe emitting a lot of steam and a cn_B prompt. Crank the valve closed to shut off the steam in this area. Jump over the pipe to your left and move to the box on the wall to hack the elevator and in the process unlock the Oceana Database (6/15 Hack Levels won).

Use the elevator to get to the bottom floor. Head out through the open gate and all the way to the right and get back on top of Bolt's box and go left to get back to the steam pipe that you shut off at the start of this level. Use the valve to turn the steam back on at this pipe while at the same time turning it off over at the pipe near the elevator. Jump back down to the floor and head left back to the elevator. Return to the top floor. Staying near the wall where the elevator hack was, jump over the pipe coming out of the wall and onto the next platform.

You will see an air duct on this platform. Enter it and be sure to jump over the trap door to collect the Gadget Upgrade (1/3). When you have collected it fall into the hole left by the trap door.

You will land in an area with numerous laser fields guarding doors. Go to the right and press the button on the console to start the laser fields moving. Time your moves and walk/jump through the laser fields as required. When you pass through the second set of lasers there is a Gadget Upgrade (2/3) to your left. Grab it. Move through the third set of lasers and you will come to a door where the lasers are not moving.

Take the ramp down and to your right. In this area you will have to avoid being caught. Move to the left until you gain the overhead view. The lone enemy will show up on your right before too long. When he turns to walk back, follow him using cn_RB to remain in sneak mode. As you follow him he will stop where there is a tall stack of crates to his right. Sneak to the right around the back of these crates. Continue to move towards the back of the room where you will find some metal barrels. There will be a pipe coming out of the floor as well as some crates to the right. Use the pipe and crates to get up on top of the tallest crate on the right. From the top, jump right from crate to crate and pick up the “Giga Teleport” Hack (1/1) on your way. Once you have the hack, jump from a crate into the platform at the back of the room where the railing is broken. Tap the button on the console to get the stationary lasers moving. Drop down off the platform and onto the ground. Head back up the ramp and continue to move through the lasers.

After you pass three more laser fields you will encounter another stationary laser. Once again head down the ramp to the right to complete a similar stealth task. Wait by the corner of the tall crate until you see the first of two enemies. Follow him to the left of a tall crate and around the corner. You will have seen the second enemy by now. When the enemy you are following turns to the right you should continue straight and take a sharp left turn around the corner. Jump over the black obstacle here as moving to the right to go around it would allow the second enemy to see you. Grab the Gadget Upgrade (3/3). Hang out in this area until the second enemy has his back to you then rush out to the left and jump from the black barrels onto the crates to the left until you reach the top. Make your way across the room and to the left you will see the platform and a place where you can jump up onto it. Get onto the platform and press the button on the console. The lasers are now moving. Jump back down onto the floor and get back to the lasers. Move through this final set of laser doors and you will enter the control room.

Defeat both enemies in the room and then go to the table in the center of the room with the blue top and get your wheelbar back. It is sitting on the edge of the table closest to the door where you entered. Move to the left or right of the door you came in and attach the wheelbar to the narrow slot and glide up to the top level being careful to avoid the lasers in the slots. Move to the left of the large door and hit cn_B to begin a button mashing sequence. The sequence is four buttons long. Bolt will be freed. Move through the door to end the level.

Level 3 – Bounce Back

You begin the level playing as Bolt the Superpower(less) dog. Go all the way to the left and drop down off the walkway onto the ground below. Jump across to the next patch of ground. Run across this platform and jump to the next section where there are ledges you can use to get to the top. You have no powers to defeat the two enemies here so run between them and jump from here to the next platform and continue jumping from platform to platform until you see some vertical green pipes. When you see these you will come to a flat area with a path that winds up around a hill to your left. Take the path and use the ledges to jump to the top where you will find a building. Move to the right around the building to find a door. Enter the building to finish Bolt's part and you will revert back to Penney.

Move to the left and go up the stairs. Take out the enemy to the left with camo and a gas mine and move towards the control room door. A cut scene will trigger showing you that the path into the control room starts at the smoke stacks.

To the right of the stairs you first walked up in this area is a place where you can jump up over the door where you enter the level. There is a green spot in the otherwise grey door frame if you can’t find it. From here, attach the wheelbar to the ledge above you and slide all the way to the corner of the building where you will be able to flip in and into the roof. Walk around to the right and use camo and a gas mine to defeat the lone enemy here. Use the wheelbar to climb up the ladder and flip onto the top level. Use camo and gas mines to defeat the two enemies here and grab the Gadget Upgrade (1/3) at the back/left of the roof area. Get up on the two blue boxes.

Navigate your way through the transformer field by following the path left by the moving high voltage arcs. When you are at the end of the transformer maze jump up onto the ledge and find the two pipes connecting the building with the transformers to the smoke stacks. Get down on the wooden crates below the ledge and onto the ground below. Head to the right towards the cliff and just up the ramp to the left you will find a Gadget Upgrade (2/3). Get back to the wooden crates and at the top attach the wheelbar to the horizontal pipes and glide to the left. At the far left get down off the horizontal pipes and reconnect the wheelbar to the vertical pipes. Slide all the way to the top and onto the platform around the smokestacks. On this walkway you will find the “Alpha Teleport” Hack (1/1). Collect it. Move to the left side of the platform and locate the cable attached to the smokestack. Use the wheelbar to attach to the cable and glide to the top of the control room. Jump into the control room through the open hatch and defeat the enemy in here while collecting the Gadget Upgrade (3/3). This will unlock another of the collectible achievements:

Press the button on the left side of the console to open the large garage door. Leave the control room through the unlocked door and head right towards the opened garage door. Just outside that door will be a crank that you can activate with cn_B. Use the crank to move the trolley towards the large gate that is blocking your path. Move it until it will not go any farther.

Head back into the control room and press the other button on the console. This will open the large gate. Rush back out of the control room and over to the crank that moves the trolley. Move the trolley into the middle of the gate. When the gate closes it will be unable to fully close and there will be a space left in the middle just large enough for say….. a wheelbar!

Go to the gate and get on top of the trolley. Attach the wheelbar to the space left between the doors of the gate and glide to the top. Flip up onto the gate to complete the level.

Level 4 – Bridging The Gap

You start this level as Penney. Go to the left and attach the wheelbar to the cable here. Glide all the way to the other end and get down on the platform. There is an enemy to the left of where you get off the cable. Defeat him. You will see two pulley devices on the left side of the platform and a ladder heading down next to one of the pulleys. Hit both pulleys with your wheelbar starting with the one farthest from the ladder and then use the wheelbar to go down the ladder.

Get off the ladder onto the platform below that has moved out of the wall. Jump onto the next platform to the left and use the wheelbar to hit the switch here. This will cause a platform to move out of the wall directly below you. Get down onto this platform as the platform you are currently on recedes back into the wall. When you are on the lower platform hit the switch on the wall here to reveal a platform to your right. Get onto that platform. There is a switch here as well. Hit the switch and then go all the way around the wall jumping from platform to platform. On the other side you will see some pipes sticking out of the wall. Hit the switch on the edge of the last platform and then double jump onto the first pipe. Swing from there to the second pipe and onto the platform that is waiting (briefly) for you. Hit the switch here and continue around the edge using the platforms and hitting switches as you go. At the end you will see a metal catwalk balancing on a chain. Jump to it and stay in the middle for balance.

Move to the right and the platform will tip down. You will see another balanced catwalk. Jump on it. From here, jump to the circular tower with red pipes attached to it and attach the wheelbar to the pipes. There is a platform on the other side of the tower. Go left or right using the arrangement of pipes to get to the platform. You will have to change levels by jumping up and re-attaching the wheelbar to the level above or by pressing cn_B to release and re-attach to the level below. It can be a little tricky. Move to the edge of the platform on the right side. There will be a series of balancing catwalks.

You will not be able to jump from one balanced catwalk to another balanced catwalk. To move up levels you have to move back to tip the other end of the catwalk up, then run to the end that is tipped up to jump to the catwalk on the next level. Continue this pattern and when you are on the last catwalk of the series you will have to jump and connect the wheelbar to the red pipes on the tower again, this time at a higher level. When you are connected to the red pipes slide to the middle of the pipes and jump to attach to the silver rails that are extending up and out of the screen. Move to the top and onto the platform. Move to the back of the platform past the stairs leading up and on the back of the platform is a narrow slot where you can attach the wheelbar. Attach to this slot and glide down to pick up the “Omega Teleport” Hack (1/1) and unlock the third collectible achievement:

Go back to the stairs and take them up until you are on the helipad. Keep to the left of the helipad as you cross it to find a walkway. Move out onto the walkway and at the end jump onto the balanced catwalk. Tip the end of the catwalk up and jump from it onto the stationary platform and then onto the ladder above the platform. Flip up onto the roof and immediately to your left is a narrow slot you can use to attach the wheelbar. Attach the wheelbar in the slot and go to the top. When you flip into the room off the wheelbar the level is complete.

Level 5 – Bridging The Gap Part 2

When you start this level Bolt will be supercharged meaning he will always be quickly recharging his energy meter and his attacks are always stronger. This is a good time to clean up on any of the super bark / ground pound / laser eyes achievements that you may not have. I am saving that clean up until the end, however you may choose to do it wherever.

Move straight ahead and over the trolley that Penney left between the doors of the large gate. In this short level you will have to cross three sections of a bridge and defeat the enemies that spawn on each section. Use the attack of your choice to defeat all the enemies quite easily being sure to pick up the highly visible Power Upgrades (1/3, 2/3, 3/3), one in each section of the bridge. When you collect the third upgrade you will unlock the final collectible achievement:

Move through the final gate of the bridge level to complete it.

Level 6– Brawl Of Fame

This is another relatively short level (well, up to the Calico fight anyway). Your attention should be focused on the circular machine in the middle. Run around the edge of the machine and you will find three places where Bolt can tear away a piece of the machine. Tear off all three while easily defeating the enemies that try to stop you to reveal the second level of the machine. Again, go around the perimeter to remove all three covers to reveal the core of the machine. At this point Penney will release the trolley that was between the gate doors down the tracks and into the core to destroy it. You will now have to face Calico.

During this battle you will want to take care of the achievements for combo streaks of 15 and 30. Be patient, it may take a little getting used to….

There are three blue charging stations in the battle area that Calico will use to recharge his energy when you have beaten him down a little. It is during this recharge time that you take care of your streaks.

Use ground pounds / laser eyes / super barks to stun Calico and damage him. Dodge his attacks as he throws energy balls at you. When you have him beaten down he will retreat to one of the charging stations. Run up to him while he is recharging and attack him with cn_X three or four times. Immediately switch to laser eyes and hold cn_LB in. Your attack combo will increase and increase until Calico knocks you away. Immediately go back to using laser eyes and you will see that the combo counter has not reset. Continue to use laser eyes and when you get it right the combo will go well past thirty and you will net both combo achievements:

When I did these achievements Calico was on his second energy recharge station. My mistake early on was that I was attacking him before he was recharging. In these instances he would knock me away with his blue energy shield and this would count as a hit against me and the combo would reset. It is imperative that he be recharging when you do this.

When you have both achievements you can get to beating Calico. First, destroy the recharging station that Calico is standing near and then beat on Calico. He will go to another charging station. Destroy this station and Calico will retreat to the last station. Destroy this final station and Calico will have nowhere to run. Finish him off to net the achievement:

Level 7– Pooched

After Penney sends Bolt on a mission to destroy the missiles instead of save her father you find yourself in a race against time to destroy the missiles. There are several of them to destroy.

Missile 1: Move straight ahead and when you get to the cn_B prompt, hold cn_B and move the left stick in any direction to separate the missile. When it is separated you will regain control of Bolt. Use cn_A to jump up the missile until you reach the tip. Use laser eyes while rotating the missile left or right to cut off the warhead and press cn_Y when prompted to blow it off. A small area of green smoke will appear back at the base of the missile. Rotate the missile until you are in line with the green smoke and then slide back down into the smoke. Press cn_A when you get in the smoke and you will vault off this missile onto the next one. A small 2-button mashing sequence occurs and when you get the sequence right you land on missile two.

Missile 2: As you land on missile 2 there may be a four button mashing sequence to beat in order to remain on the missile. When it is complete move back towards the back of the missile and move right around the back of the yellow fin to bring the cn_B prompt in sight. Go to the cn_B prompt and separate the missile as you did with missile 1. When it is separated and you can control Bolt again, move to the right to get around the next fin and jump to the front of the missile with cn_A. Again, use laser eyes and cn_Y to blow the warhead off the missile then rotate the missile to find the green smoke. Slide back into the smoke and press cn_A. Another two button sequence will see you safely onto missile 3.

Missile 3: Slide back behind the yellow fin and spin to the left to find the cn_B prompt. Open up the missile and then move left again to get around the yellow fin. Jump to the front of the missile and perform the same laser eyes / cn_Y combo to destroy it. You will have to mash a four button sequence as you slide back to the green smoke. When you reach the smoke and press cn_A to vault, beat the two button sequence to see you safely to missile 4.

Missile 4: Slide back behind the fin and rotate left to find a piece of shrapnel lodged in the zipper that unlocks the missile. Move to it and tap cn_B when prompted to tear the shrapnel out. Move up to the zipper and separate the missile as before. The shrapnel has eaten into your time so this one will be close. Rotate right to get around the fin and use cn_A to bound to the front of the missile. The same laser eyes / cn_Y combo will destroy the warhead and the green smoke will conveniently be right behind you. Vault off this missile, perform the mini sequence and land on missile 5.

Missile 5: The timing on this one is real tight. Rotate to the left twice to find the zipper. Jump up to the zipper and retract the missle. Rotate right once and bound to the front of the missile. Use laser eyes to cut the warhead and then you will have a two button sequence to perform before having to tear the warhead off by tapping cn_B. I had to try this several times as I always seemed to miss by just a second.

When you have destroyed the last missile you have completed the storyline and will unlock the achievement:

Now that you have completed the game you may have a few cleanup items to take care of as I did – however it depends on how you meted out justice on your way through the game. If you have unlocked the three achievements for defeating enemies with laser eyes, ground pound and super bark and have tossed enough enemies through windows or over cliffs then you may skip this section, otherwise read on.

Go to the main menu and select Play Game > Replay Mission. Select the mission “Bridging the Gap Part 2”. In this level you are always supercharged and there are a lot of enemies in a short span of time.

Move onto the bridge section until enemies spawn. Focus solely on defeating the enemies with your laser eyes and continue to do so until you have raised your laser eyes kill count to 100. Progress down the bridge and replay the level as many times as necessary to unlock the following achievement:

  • Unlocked by 5,141 tracked gamers (34% - TA Ratio = 1.72) 15,345

With the laser eyes achievement unlocked change your attack to the super bark and continue to defeat enemies with this attack until you have 100 kills with this attack and you unlock the achievement:

  • Unlocked by 5,897 tracked gamers (38% - TA Ratio = 1.61) 15,345

Finally, switch your attack to the ground pound and continue to re-visit this level meting out ground pounding punishment until you unlock the achievement:

  • Unlocked by 5,292 tracked gamers (34% - TA Ratio = 1.70) 15,345

In the event you have not unlocked the achievement for tossing 25 enemies through windows or over cliffs (it is very likely that you may have depending on your style) then stay close to the edge of the bridge and use cn_B to attack enemies so that you will toss them away. Several will go over the edge and when your total toss counter is 25 you will unlock the achievement:

Game Hacks:

With all the hacks in the game uncovered, you can now return to the main menu and start to play and complete the hack levels. From the main menu select Play Minigame. All the hacks you have unlocked will be in this area. Play down through the hacks that you have not already done (ones you have done are database hacks). When you complete 10 unique hacks you will unlock:

  • Unlocked by 5,233 tracked gamers (34% - TA Ratio = 1.71) 15,345

Complete 5 more unique hacks to obtain the last achievement for the game
