1. Walkthrough overview
Hi there. I'm Ackter and I'd like to welcome you to my guide for Dragon Age: Origins.
This is one of my favourite games of all time and, as such, I'd fully recommend you play through the game without using the guide at all. I spent hundreds of hours exploring everything I possibly could and loved every second of it (except for the Fade. You'll understand when you get there for the second time...). However, you probably wouldn't be reading this if you intended on doing that so let's explain a little about this guide.
I've set this up for four separate playthroughs, though it is possible to do it in two (check the hints and tips for more info on that). There are four different romances and four different endings required so splitting it up into four playthroughs makes the most sense. This guide will be set up as one large playthough, but when unique actions are required within the different playthroughs they will be highlighted as such:
Playthroughs Two and Four
In order to do this, you need to do that. And that. Except there'll be a lot more detail here in the guide itself.
This game can be quite buggy, so make sure to save pretty often and especially make sure to create a new save after each page of this walkthrough, just in case.
Regarding the in-game DLCs, I have listed them near the start of the playthrough when they become available for the first time. They do not need to be done here, but in order to complete the Stone Prisoner DLC, the section in Honnleath must be done before going to the Frostback Mountains and Orzammar.
I will now pass you on to SnipedByAGir1, who will talk about the stand-alone DLCs.
Hey Everyone! My name is SnipedByAGir1 and I'm writing the guide for Dragon Age: Origins standalone DLC packs. The standalone DLC for Dragon Age: Origins consists of Awakening (a monster of a DLC), Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song, The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt. Each of these DLCs are started separately from the main menu of the game and use separate save files from the original game. However, your character from the main Dragon Age: Origins game can be imported into Awakening, The Golems of Amgarrak and Witch Hunt. While you can play these DLCs before playing the main story, I highly suggest playing through the main story first before playing the three DLCs which you can import your character to. Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song can be played at anytime. Although you do get a snippet into the backstory of Leliana with her DLC so you might want to wait on that one too . Your call though.
There is also a leveling trick that you can use if you own some of these DLCs that can get you all the job level achievements in a matter of minutes. This can make your playthrough of the main Origins game much shorter. I outline this method in the Golems of Amgaraak guide.
Enjoy your time in Dragon Age! It's such a fantastic game :)
