Duck Life: Battle Walkthrough

3. Story walkthrough

There are a few achievements that can be missed if not done right away. Follow the guide closely, I have insured you won't miss any but the thanks should go to BiLLzuMaNaTi and Sashamorning for their warnings. If you find the guide too wordy I suggest skipping the bullet points as they are there to help anyone who is having a hard time and are probably easily figured out just by trying.

Start a new game by selecting your color and style of duck, you will unlock:

Duck designer in Duck Life: Battle
Create your own duck character
  • Unlocked by 666 tracked gamers (100% - TA Ratio = 1.00) 667

The game will then have an unskipable cutscene and you will be directed to the training center. However, first collect all the coins you can. In this area you may also notice the red ! above some ducks heads, these ones are all too strong, for now. In the dojo you can train in all areas you can.

  • Defense: Using the cn_LS to aim your shield and deflect objects. If the line is yellow it is a coin, let it through.
  • Health: Using the cn_LS run up and down the moving conveyor belt while using cn_A to jump over the objects dropped. The first bounce is higher than the second so try to jump over the second bounce or avoid its direction entirely by running beyond where it lands. It will indicate yellow before a coin, again.
  • Power: Holding down any button such as cn_X will raise your weights and deflect incoming projectiles. Coins are hard to grab here and this is the worst one imo. Just take your time and try to get the hang of it. He will start throwing three in a row and you will level up quick if you can make it that far. I found trying to keep my arm directly in front of me at a 90 degree angle, by tapping the button so it slowly drops, helped.
  • Special: (Good coin ratio) Use any button such as cn_X when the metronome reaches the green part. This is really easy to do
  • Speed: Using cn_LT blue cn_RT green cn_LB yellow cn_RB red to match the color the duck is holding on the screen. At times there may be more than 1 color he holds up and you must press them all at once. Very easy as well.

You want your defense, health, power, special, speed all up to level 20. After you have trained each one at least one point you will unlock:

Multi-talented in Duck Life: Battle
Gain a level in every skill
  • Unlocked by 646 tracked gamers (97% - TA Ratio = 1.01) 667

I have 150 coins after getting all skills to 20. To see what your coin count is, leave the dojo and press cn_start. It is in the top right of the screen, above your duck and below the inventory.

Now go back to the training center and farm special for 25 coins a run until you have 1000 coins. Tap cn_A 3 times the first time, and 2 times each time until you hit 10. Doing this should speed you up quite a bit and if you find the later part harder, just hit 10-12 and suicide it by hitting in the red. This should take you less than a half an hour and you will unlock:

Wealthy duck in Duck Life: Battle
Have 500 coins in your inventory
  • Unlocked by 587 tracked gamers (88% - TA Ratio = 1.06) 667

Duck tycoon in Duck Life: Battle
Duck tycoon108 (100)
Have 1000 coins in your inventory
  • Unlocked by 573 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 667

Now go to the shop and buy the watermelon armor, ice hockey mask and the boomerang and you unlock:

Valued customer in Duck Life: Battle
Buy an item from the shop
  • Unlocked by 646 tracked gamers (97% - TA Ratio = 1.01) 667

Before you equip your armor, go attack the duck I have circled in the picture above, he should have 90 health and you should have 250. After an easy fight you unlock:

Nudist in Duck Life: Battle
Nudist38 (35)
Win a battle with no weapon or clothes
  • Unlocked by 574 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 667

You get wood, a quest item. Now press cn_X and equip the armor you just got. Upgrade your boomerang all the way, by selecting it and pressing cn_A on the upgrade button, to unlock:

Mechanic in Duck Life: Battle
Mechanic15 (15)
Upgrade a piece of equipment
  • Unlocked by 633 tracked gamers (95% - TA Ratio = 1.02) 667

Master upgrader in Duck Life: Battle
Upgrade a piece of equipment all the way
  • Unlocked by 599 tracked gamers (90% - TA Ratio = 1.05) 667

Now smash the other ducks to get rope and a hammer. Approach the duck with the ? above his head, North of the three ducks you fight, and you will rebuild the bridge. Take the right path when it first splits, and follow it to the training center. This center has different mini games that you need to complete to get your skills to level 40.

  • Defense: Using cn_LS and any button to jump, such as cn_A, jump to collect coins and avoid snakes. The longer you last the more xp you get.
  • Health: Using cn_LS to avoid spikes and grab coins. I suggest just avoiding the balls by sticking to a corner. Like the last one, the longer you last the more you get.
  • Power: Use any button to reach the top of the tree while avoiding spiky offshoots (branches). It will cause you to jump from left to right or right to left.
  • Special: Using cn_LS move your lance and collect watermelons. 3 in a row gives you a coin but just focus on not getting bombs. It doesn't matter how long you last, you only get xp when you get watermelons, and more for 3 in a row.
  • Speed: Using cn_A and cn_B swap buckets back and forth to catch the right color in the right bucket. Use the wheels in the middle to tell you what color is up after you press the button to know how many times to press it. Lasting longer will get you more points

Once all skills have reached 40 you are ready to move on. To the left you will see a duck with a ? above his head.

berry 1

Talk to him and then go right and collect the blue berries.

berry 2

Walk down and fight the yellow duck with the watermelon hat. Use your special by hitting the button as it before it reaches the inner circle(there is a green ring you have to hit but its hard to see) I used cn_X. You will unlock:

Something special in Duck Life: Battle
Perform a special attack
  • Unlocked by 635 tracked gamers (95% - TA Ratio = 1.02) 667

press cn_X and equip the watermelon hat and upgrade it once. Now go left until you see a red duck blocking a door, fight him so you can enter the cave. Having the watermelon suit (and another chance to use a special) on you will unlock:

Fruity in Duck Life: Battle
Fruity32 (30)
Win a battle dressed as a watermelon
  • Unlocked by 584 tracked gamers (88% - TA Ratio = 1.06) 667

You also get 20 coins. Enter the cave and battle the next duck in a rain coat for 25 coins, followed by another one wearing a green hat for 30 coins. Grab the coins and the loot, exit the cave. Put on the earth overalls and go down until you see red berries in the bottom left corner.

berry 3

Go all the way to the right to find the green berries in the pic below (hard to see).

berry 4

Return to the duck with the ? . He is left of the most recent training center. He will give you gardener gloves. Go down and enter the building with the crossed swords on it. This is a tournament building. Start the tournament for 10g. You need to hit your special every time to win, if you beat the first one you can beat them all. After you will unlock

First place in Duck Life: Battle
Win a tournament
  • Unlocked by 614 tracked gamers (92% - TA Ratio = 1.04) 667

And 100 coins, not bad. A random guy shows up and teaches you to jump which unlocks:

Jumping duck in Duck Life: Battle
Learn to jump
  • Unlocked by 613 tracked gamers (92% - TA Ratio = 1.04) 667

Walk straight up until you are to the left of a white duck in a party hat. Go left and you will now be able to hop up the ledges. Walk to the white duck with the ? above his head to gain firecrackers. Go to the training center in plain view. The new goal is level 60.

  • Defense: Using cn_LS Aim your helmet to deflect projectiles. Similar to the shield training... only your on a trampoline for no reason.
  • Health: Using cn_A forward cn_B backwards and cn_LS to lean. It's like a dirt bike game, minus the need for tricks. There are decent amounts of coins though.
  • Power: Using cn_LS run around and press any button to jump. Don't get hit by falling blocks. There are 4 blocks, one drops and lands on top of the others. Assuming you don't get squished, you are supposed to push it in to the hole. Just repeat the steps until you hit 60, this might take a minute.
  • Special: Hold down any button and you will see a dotted path that shows where you will land. It will extend farther the longer you hold and you will jump when you release. The farther you jump the more xp you get, just take your time until you get the hang of it and you will be done in no time.
  • Speed: Using the cn_LS guide your duck, up and down, through the aerial minefield. Follow the arrows, you will automatically fly forward so you really only steer. The longer you last the faster it gets and the more xp you get.

Once one/all skills reach 50 you will unlock:

Intermediate skiller in Duck Life: Battle
Reach level 50 in a skill
  • Unlocked by 604 tracked gamers (91% - TA Ratio = 1.05) 667

All rounder in Duck Life: Battle
Reach level 50 in every skill
  • Unlocked by 599 tracked gamers (90% - TA Ratio = 1.05) 667

Go in to the near by shop and buy the lab coat, the mad scientist wig and the shovel. Upgrade the shovel to max and the other two items upgraded 2 times. Then go fight the blue duck to the right to get 30 coins. Head down to the training area and you can see a black duck, go fight him for 30g. Go fight two more ducks in the cave for 32g, 35g and a lightning rod. Exit the cave, head back up and above the training center. To the right of it you should see another tournament building, go in and fight. You get 150 coins and you learn how to climb ladders... a really complicated skill.

Go left, past the shop and up the ladder to the left. Time for a harder fight but the shovel is enough to get you through. You will get 35g and an electric robe. Go back to where the tournament building is, go up the ladder and proceed to the right. Head down to the duck with the ? to get a letter for a quest. To the right of the shop is your next goal, another training area but this time your goal is level 80 for all talents.

  • Defense: Using the cn_LS pull back to aim your slingshot. Rapid fire works really well here. Just mash the cn_A button and eventually you will be overwhelmed, repeat.
  • Health: Push cn_LS to the right to send bombs to the disposal. Focus on the bombs and this will be over in no time. This is also another great place to get coins.
  • Power: Run and jump to keep the ball from touching the ground on your side, using the usual buttons. Basically it's duck volley ball, minus the need for arms. Try to stand slightly behind the ball and jump up and in to it as it falls. This should get you a goal and make this a lot faster.
  • Special: Press any button as the block lines up. You can rush this and restart over and over to get to 80 quickly.
  • Speed: Press any button to gain speed. Just like the dirt bike part only your on ski's.

Now that you are level 80 in all skills it is time to get back on the road. Beat up the 2 ducks near by, 1 below you and 1 to the left. You will get 40g and a water pistol. Upgrade your current equipped armor all the way and enter the tournament building. After the first fight, change your weapon to the water pistol since that guy has 35% damage reduction from your current weapon. Change weapons back before the third fight. Afterwards you will get 200g and learn how to fly. Press cn_Y because it's time to find the Wonder wheel (refer to pic below)

Airborne flapper in Duck Life: Battle
Fly to a location
  • Unlocked by 576 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 667

Wonderful in Duck Life: Battle
Wonderful16 (15)
Spin the wonder wheel
  • Unlocked by 615 tracked gamers (92% - TA Ratio = 1.04) 667

I found mine in the swamp, you may find yours else where. You can press cn_A before the wheel stops to keep the spin going if you don't like where it is landing. Just keep flying around until you find it 5 times to unlock:

Wonderlust in Duck Life: Battle
Wonderlust27 (25)
Spin the wonder wheel 5 times
  • Unlocked by 572 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 667

Fly back to the swamps and go to the training area. Time to reach skill level 100.

  • Defense: Push the bombs off the platform before the explode. The most I could get was 4 levels. Eventually you just don't have enough time to move them all.
  • Health: Run and jump while avoiding obstacles. It's like a really bad Mario, but it's easy.
  • Power: You have 2 vines and you have to switch between them. The arrow shows which of the three directions a ball will fall from; left, middle or right. Not the worst mini game but far from the best. This one gave me motion sickness the farther I progressed, so I tried to die after 3 - 4 levels to avoid this.
  • Special: Claw machine, pick up the food but don't touch the bombs. This can be easier said than done at times but you get a huge chunk of XP every time you get a piece of food.
  • Speed: There are 4 platforms for you to run around. The platforms will drop so watch out for which color in the bubble above you. This is the final training you will be doing so have that in mind.I just stood still because your on two platforms so you are less likely to fall, repeat until done.

Afterwards you will unlock:

Skill master in Duck Life: Battle
Skill master108 (100)
Reach level 100 in every skill
  • Unlocked by 572 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.07) 667

Now work your way up and around the swamp until you find the tournament arena. To the right of it will be a brown duck with a ? above him. Talk to him and then fly back to the mountains. To the left, where the police duck used to be, you can now climb the ladder and get the glasses. If the cop didn't move, talk to him and fly away. When you return he should be gone. Fly back to the swamp and give the duck his glasses to unlock:

The power of sight in Duck Life: Battle
Find glasses for a short sighted duck
  • Unlocked by 557 tracked gamers (84% - TA Ratio = 1.09) 667

You also get a slingshot. Now walk past the tournament arena and ignore the purple wizard duck (saving him for an achievement). Go fight the duck that is dressed like a mallard.

You will have to beat all 3 to unlock:

Mallard masher in Duck Life: Battle
Beat the mallard gang in a battle
  • Unlocked by 571 tracked gamers (86% - TA Ratio = 1.08) 667

You also get a mallard hat. Go back to the tournament and enter it. Change weapons to the water pistol before the first fight, and upgrade it once. Keep the same equipment for the second fight and the third. You will get 250 coins and you will learn how to swim. Now go down until you reach the town.

You will see a road leading to a building with scissors on it. Enter the building, change your color and unlock:

Makeover in Duck Life: Battle
Makeover27 (25)
Get a makeover at the salon
  • Unlocked by 570 tracked gamers (85% - TA Ratio = 1.08) 667

Go all the way to the right to find the grand dojo. Enter it and you can train any of your skills past 100. We are going to get strength up to 105. 3rd row 4th column, volleyball. Exit the grand dojo and go left until your only options are up or down, go up and you should see the sewer entrance. Upgrade water pistol to level 5 and then defeat all the ducks down here. There is a red gem after the third guy that you need to grab. Exit the sewer, head up so that you are in the swamp. Equip the red gem (dragon pet) and go beat up the wizard I suggested skipping earlier to unlock:

Dragon queen in Duck Life: Battle
Win a battle with a dragon
  • Unlocked by 529 tracked gamers (79% - TA Ratio = 1.12) 667

I think the special has to fire for it to work but I can't confirm that. Walk down back to the city. Head down, past the boarded up tournament building on the left, to find another tournament building on the right (below the barber). Enter the battle for 30g and make sure the dragon pet is still equipped. Change your weapon to water pistol before the third fight. Cutscene and you get the headwear for champions. Equip your electric wizard robes and upgrade them as much as you can. Keep the water pistol equipped and go in to battle with the guy who always gives you new abilities like jump/swim/fly.

Bridge over the Waters in Duck Life: Battle
Beat Duckland Waters in a battle (Secret)
  • Unlocked by 567 tracked gamers (85% - TA Ratio = 1.08) 667

Fly back to the forest and go in to the tournament. Knock out the first guy with one hit and you unlock:

1 hit KO in Duck Life: Battle
1 hit KO54 (50)
Defeat a duck with a single hit
  • Unlocked by 568 tracked gamers (85% - TA Ratio = 1.08) 667

If for some reason the first one doesn't drop, the second one definitely will. Congratulations on your latest 1000. If you found this guide useful then please consider volunteering to write guides for TrueAchievements!
