Let's get started! First off, you're welcome to play as you wish, but I recommend you earn the Classic Score achievements before doing anything else. These achievements are more traditional to the iPhone/iPod Touch achievements, so if you have played that version before, you will know exactly what's going on here.
When the game starts sit and do nothing...
Play another game of Classic and score 1 point. Now lose. Rinse and repeat earning 1 point a second time for:
Now get your score up to 69 and lose. In the process you'll score 50 points as well.
Now slice fruit up to 99 and lose.
Also in the process you would have unlocked:
Now go ahead and play the game as you please, obtaining at least 200 points for:
Let's talk about the luck-based achievements. As you play, a sparkly fruit will glide across the screen. This is a Dragon Fruit, and will appear randomly at any time. If you slice it, you will unlock:
The next achievement requires you to get six critical hits in one game of Classic Mode. A critical hit is again luck-based. You can't control when you earn them. Basically, survive as long as you can. After slashing enough fruit you might have earned the achievement. You may have already unlocked it from your previous games.
Get 6 criticals in one round in Classic Mode
The next three achievements require you to slice 10 bananas, 15 apples and 20 plums in one Classic Mode game. The bananas achievement will be very easy, but the other two can be a bit more tricky. The amount of plums and apples in any one game will vary, so you've got to have the luck of having the round where a lot of apples or plums are thrown at you. It is also advantageous to play a good round yourself.
If it takes a long time before you get some plums or apples, and you're not very good at fruit ninja, just restart the round and wait for a round that has more plums in the game. The Berry Blast Power-Up and the Bomb Deflector can help you get this one a little faster. The Bomb Deflector will prevent you from losing the game if you accidentally slice a bomb, and the Berry Blast because you will lose a cross for not slicing a fruit for every hundred points you get.
Kill 10 Bananas in one round of Classic Mode
The next achievement requires you to slice six fruit in one slice. Start up a game of Arcade Mode while using the frenzy bananas. Fruit will be thrown at you in large numbers somewhere in the game. Once you see 6+ fruit in a row, slice them all with one swipe and you will get:
Buy as many Power-Ups as you can of each of the three Power-Ups available, in order to attempt the "Over Achiever" achievement. Start up a game of Arcade Mode, and try to slice as many fruit as possible in one slice. Try to not let fruit fall unsliced on the ground. Having the three Power-Ups will definitely help you. Slice the critical fruit (the blue bananas, for example) if you see them. They will give you a lot of points, or will freeze the screen, which is very handy. Once your game is over, you will also get some bonuses. If you did well, you will reach over 400 points and therefore get:
Get a score over 400 after all bonuses in Arcade Mode.
For the next achievement, buy the Berry Blast Power-Up. Try to slice as much as fruit as possible in a game of Zen Mode. Immediately slice strawberries if you see them, because they will each count for 5 points. Once you have at least 200 points you will get:
The last achievements you will be going for, or already have unlocked are cumulative across all game modes. These are pretty self explanatory. Slice 500, 1000, 5000 and 10,000 fruit. I recommend playing whichever mode you prefer.
Well done, you've just completed Fruit Ninja (Win 8)!
