Information on this Playthrough

In this playthrough, we need to get all the factions (Theleme, Bridge Alliance, Nauts, Natives, & Coin Guard) and all our followers (Kurt, Vasco, Siora, Father Petris, & Aphra) to friendly. To accomplish this, all of the quests for these factions and individuals need to be completed. It is also important not to lose reputation with any of them if it can be avoided. I will note any places where getting a negative hit to reputation is unavoidable. Other than that, save before talking to people so that you can go back to it if you make the wrong choice and end up losing reputation (See the previous "hints & tips" page for more information). Note that although many of the quests can be completed in a different order than the one I am using, you must do Kurt's first two side quests before the Main Story Quest The Princes Secret. If you don't, he will not be available to romance, and you will not be able to obtain that achievement.

Main Quest: The Great Departure (Part 1)

You will begin the game by creating your character. For this playthrough, choose a female and put your first talent point into Lockpicking. Then you will go out and meet with Kurt, where you will get to practice your fighting skills. After that is done, you will visit your mother. Once the cut scene is over, you will go back out to Kurt and add him as a companion. You will also receive the side quest "Coin Guard Merchandise." Put the main quest on hold at this point. Here is a map of Serene:

Coin Guard Side Quest: Coin Guard Merchandise (Part 1)

Go to visit the marked merchant. He will want you to pay double for the needed merchandise. You will eventually end with four dialogue options. After obtaining a positive outcome from him, you will need to see the quartermaster in the Coin Guard Barracks. He will direct you to find a way for this merchandise to be put on your ship that is departing soon. This will lead you to Captain Vasco at the docks. Talking to him at this point will lead him to question you about your cousin. Talk to him about that while you're there to add progress to the main quest. Then talk to him about the merchandise. He will indicate that the merchandise needs to be on the manifest for it to be put on the ship. He will also talk about a missing crewman. Offer to help out to receive the side quest "Disappearance Among the Nauts." Now continue the quest. The best way to alter the manifest is to obtain a Naut outfit so that you will be able to enter the warehouse without any problems. Enter the storeroom marked on the map above. The chest in the corner contains the Naut chest piece. Equip this, and you can walk inside the warehouse without losing any reputation with the Nauts. Alter the manifest and then go out and tell the guards to leave. Then inform the porters they can put the goods inside. You will now need to wait to finish this quest until you get to New Serene.

Naut Side Quest: Disappearance Among the Nauts

Talk about the missing boy with the people indicated, and you will be lead to the tavern. Talk to the bartender about your cousin to gain progress on the main quest while you are here. You will need to pay him to take care of the issue he created. Then talk to him about the recruit and then speak to the customer he directs you to. While in the tavern, there are 2 locations that you can lockpicK: Upstairs Tavern Keepers Bedroom Lockpick 1/20 and one of the doors inside the kitchen Lockpick 2/20. You will then be sent to visit Lady Fontaine, and afterward, you will go back to Vasco. He will direct you to another man nearby. After learning information from him, you will be directed back to Lady Fontaine's home to retrieve a note. This will lead you to where the missing Naut is located. Go in the front entrance and head downstairs. Use the information you obtained to help get the boy released. 2 more locks can be picked here. Lockpick the cell instead of using the key for Lockpick 3/20 and go into the cell next to his to find a chest for Lockpick 4/20. Afterward, return to Vasco to complete the quest.

Main Quest: The Great Departure (Part 2)

Now its time to talk to our allies. I went to see Sahin of the Bridge Alliance first. He will indicate he has a problem and of course we will help him.

Bridge Alliance Side Quest: The Charlatan

Go to see the alchemist and exhaust all possible conversation options with him. Head around the back and take out the thugs (if necessary) to retrieve a letter and the potion. Return to the alchemist and force him to drink his potion and flee. So, go to his room in the tavern and confront him. You will be given options on how to deal with him. I suggest having him arrested as it avoids having to deal with an angry mob and any potential negative reputation. Upon leaving, you will be able to return to Sahin to complete the quest immediately.

Main Quest: The Great Departure (Part 3)

Go back to the main quest again and talk with Cardinal Antonius of Theleme. He will also have a problem that needs our help. Again, we will agree to help.

Theleme Side Quest: Heretic Hunt

This starts by talking to Vasco once again. He will tell you about a smuggler that has been thrown in jail. Use your Naut uniform to head into the jail to speak with the man. Agree to release him, and he will tell you where to go. Lockpick his cell door for Lockpick 5/20. Then head to see the "heretics." The area they are in contains several warehouses belonging to the Nauts. Explore these buildings /to find at least TWO chests (there are more than 2 in this area) to lockpick for Lockpick 6/20 and 7/20. After talking with them, you can arrest them or leave them on their way. I chose to leave them because it seemed like the right thing to do. Again once you leave them, you will be able to return to the Cardinal immediately. If you let the people go, be sure to lie to the Cardinal about it to avoid losing any reputation with Theleme.

Main Quest: The Great Departure (Part 4)

Now that all the side quests for the continent are complete, it is time to find our cousin. Head to the thug's location, sneak past the thugs in the back, and head upstairs. Free Constantin from his cell by lockpicking for Lockpick 8/20. Then turn right to find a storeroom where there is a chest you can lockpick for Lockpick 9/20. You will then need to find him some better clothes. He will then join your team. Exit the building by going through the basement to avoid the thugs outside. I would recommend purchasing some health potions and magic potions. Then talk to Vasco and let him know you are ready to leave. Once you head down toward the ship, you will encounter your first boss fight. In this fight, you will not have your companions to help you. After defeating the beast, you will board the ship and head to New Serene. Upon arriving, you will receive the achievement:

You will gain Vasco as a companion and receive the next part of the main quest. Before doing that, I opted to finish the Coin Guard sidequest. Here is a map of New Serene:

Start by heading to the blacksmith and upgrading your Naut gear with lockpicking. This will give you 2 points in lockpicking. With that complete, head to the areas marked with circles on the above map to find more items that can be lockpicked. From South to North, they are as follows: The door to the warehouse behind the Naut admiral Lockpick 10/20, a chest under the scaffolding in the alley Lockpick 11/20, and a chest on the small dock near some barrels Lockpick 12/20.

Side Quest: Coin Guard Merchandise (Part 2)

This quest can finally be completed by talking to the quartermaster at the Coin Guard Barracks in town. He will tell you that you now need to help retrieve the merchandise. So make sure you still are wearing the armour and head into the warehouses to mark the goods. Then return to the quartermaster once more to finish this quest for good. You will also receive another side quest for the guard called "The Man with the Silver Coin." Hold off on that for now and return to the main questline.

Main Quest: Find Constantine at the Palace

Head to meet your cousin, and you will meet Siora. You will need to replace one of your current companions with her and then head inside to talk to your cousin. This will lead to you receiving two new parts of the main questline. Head through the door to the right of where you spoke to Constantin and head upstairs. Enter the door on the right, continue straight through another door, and you will be in Constantin's bedroom. Turn right end go into a small storeroom. Lock pick the other door in this room for Lockpick 13/20. Head back out of the palace, and you will run into Sir DeCourcillion on your way out. He will give you two side quests: "Exploration and Cartography" and "In Professor Serafeddin's Footsteps." The first involves finding all the campsites on the island, and the second consists of finding notes scattered around the island. Now I chose to continue by following the main quest that was automatically equipped. This quest takes you to Vedrad.

Main Quest: Battle of the Red Spears

Head to the Village in Vedrad and speak to Arwant. You will learn that the battle has already begun. On your way, Siora will tell you to take the path to the left. Do as she says to help your relationship with her. Take care of the enemies on the battlefield and then talk to Siora's sister. Convince her to return to her village and then look for survivors of the battle. Siora will point them out as you get close. Give them each a healing potion. Along the way, Siora will attack a wounded soldier. Convince her to stop. After healing all the wounded islanders, you will be directed up to some ruins. You will automatically discuss the painting there, and Siora will give you her first companion quest. While in this area, you can get two pieces of legendary gear. Head out of the ruins and head south to the camp nearby. Then head north until you see a short path to a map exit. Head west and you will encounter the village of Vigyigidaw. Talk to the guy here, and you will receive the side quest "Logging Expedition." Continue west to find a cave entrance at the far NW of the map of the area. Head inside and around to the right to find a chest that contains the boots and gloves for the Warrior King set. Equip these, and you will receive the achievement:

Siora Companion Quest: Find Queen Bladnid

Talk to Siora and head across to the eastern part of the map and enter the outpost. Talk to the captain to find out what happened to Siora's mother.

When finished dealing with everything, you will be able to go back to Siora's village instantly. Talk to Siora's sister once more to complete the quest. Talk to Siora about this afterward and tell her about saying goodbye to your mother. (This is necessary to romance her). Return to your camp, and Vasco should have a quest for you.

Vasco Companion Quest: A Name for a Family

Head to the Captian's office in New Serene, and then Vasco will recommend obtaining a sleeping potion. Buy it from the merchant or craft it and then speak to the guy in the tavern's basement (Note you will have to pay a guy to go downstairs). Convince him to help you and then meet up with Vasco and wait for the girls. Make sure to still have your Naut armour equipped, hop the wall, find the key in a crate nearby, and then go inside to obtain the file. Return to Vasco once more to complete the quest. Afterward, talk to him about this and ask him if he has any happy memories. (This is necessary to romance him) Return to your quarters, and Kurt should have a quest for you. If not, try sleeping for a day to get it to appear.

Kurt Companion Quest: Missing in Action

Kurt will tell you about one of his recruits that has gone missing. Go to the barracks, and you will be sent to the morgue. You will need to convince the medic to let you in to see the body. You will then need to confront the medic about your findings then question the quartermaster and the indicated lieutenants in the building. At the end of the room that one of the lieutenants is in, there is a chest that can be lockpicked for lockpick 14/20. Note that you will need to go through the other dialogue options with them first to get the dialogue option to talk about the recruit to appear. After getting their information, there is another chest that can be lockpicked on the second floor of the barracks. Just before going down the stairs, head through the other door that is not the set of double doors. Follow that corridor, turn left, then take another left into a room. In the back of that room is the chest for lockpick 15/20. You will then need to talk to people in the tavern. You will need to purchase some alcohol from the innkeeper to progress the dialogue along, and then you will return to the barracks. Here you will need to confront the lieutenant and finally get information from another lieutenant. This will finish the quest and give the next quest "Amongst the Ghosts" which you won't be able to complete until later. Talk to Kurt afterward about this and tell him it was so you could understand him better. (You must do this to romance him as you will not be able to in the next playthrough)

Native Side Quest: An Aspiring Merchant

In New Serene, across from the blacksmith, you will find a native merchant. Talk to him to receive this quest. Go back to the coin guard barracks to get some information. Then, go to the Governor's palace and convince the Minister to give the merchant permission to trade. Go back to the merchant to learn there are two more issues to deal with. Head back to the coin guard barracks. Then, go to the basement, retrieve the goods, and then head into the arena located in the basement of the tavern. Again be sure to be prepared with potions ahead of time because you will be fighting without your companions. Talk to the man about the arena fights, and you will receive the "Champion of the Arena" side quest. Tell the man you want to fight with the prisoner and then defeat the enemies to continue the quest. Return to the merchant, and he will send you to meet with Ulan in Glendgnamvar. Speak with Ulan to complete this quest and agree to help him to receive the next quest for the natives: "A Peculiar Alliance." The first objective of that quest overlaps with the main story quest, so both will be updated, as noted below. Return to a camp, and Vasco should have a new quest for you.

Vasco's Companion Quest: Family Reunion

Return to New Serene, talk to a lady, and then convince the other woman to provide the information you are looking for. Head to the Region of Hikmet

The three red circles on the map represent chests that can be lockpicked. The first one is in the western section of the outpost Lockpick 16/20, the second one is on the far west side of the farm area behind the barn Lockpick 17/20, and the last one is along a wall in the city Lockpick 18/20. Talk to the person you were directed to. After getting nowhere, go downstairs and convince the man's employee to help you. Then return to the man and finally get the information you need. Pay off the debt collectors to finish the quest. Talk to Vasco and tell him that this allowed him to assert himself. (This is again necessary to romance him)

Main Quest: Old Countries in a New World (Part 1)

Change your companions to Kurt and Vasco and then go to see the Governor of the Bridge Alliance. Talk to him about the Malicor and the offer from Ulan to progress his quest. The Governor will have a job for you. Upon accepting, you will receive the side quest "Attacks on Caravans." Leave the main quest for now.

Native Side Quest: A Peculiar Alliance (Part 1)

Set this quest as your objective, and you will find the merchant being harassed by soldiers. Use intuition to save him without violence. Then your next task will be to return to Ulan. Put that off for now and return to your quarters. At this point, Vasco should have his final quest for you. (You may have to sleep for a couple of days for it to show up)

Vasco's Companion Quest: Forever a Naut

Return to New Serene and talk to the Admiral. You will be sent to investigate a shipwreck in Wenshaganaw.

Stock up on potions and head out to the location. Investigate the areas near the wreck, and you will be directed to a small cave. Once you start to enter, you will be attacked by a giant monster. This will be a challenging fight at this point in the game, so have patience and dodge its attacks. It will take a while to take it down, but once you do you will receive the achievement

Go back into the cave to retrieve the captain's logbook and then return to the Admiral in New Serene. She will send you to a tattoo artist nearby. After Vasco receives his new tattoo, the quest is complete. Talk to him about this and tell him you want to sail with him again. Return to your quarters, save before heading inside, and Vasco will initiate a conversation with you. Agree, head upstairs, and agree again. After you enjoy your time together, tell him you love him too, and you will receive the achievement

Reload the save you made and return to the main story so that we can get our next companion.

Main Quest: Old Countries in a New World (Part 2)

Travel to San Matheus with Kurt and Vasco as your companions. Here is a map of the area:

When you reach the large courtyard, you will witness a cutscene. Once complete, the inquisitor will approach you. Use charisma to avoid answering his question. Once inside, Petrus will approach and join your group. After your conversation with the Governor, Petrus will officially become a follower. Head back to your quarters in town, and you will find a letter by the door, which gives the quest "Inquisition." Head to the Coin Guard Barracks and go upstairs to the leader's office. Use a lockpick to open the door for Lockpick 19/20. Travel back to New Serene and talk to Constantin about all you have learned to complete this quest. As a result of this, you will now have three quests in the main questline, and Kurt's next quest will be available.

Kurt's Companion Quest: Amongst the Ghosts

Make your way to the camp in Wenshagnaw. Talk to a bunch of people in the camp, and when you're done with that, Kurt will ask the Lieutenants to take him on a tour so that you can question one of the recruits once more. He will tell you the truth about what is going on in the camp. Head outside and tell Kurt about what you learned. After, you will automatically wait until night time. Head inside and search upstairs to find a key and some documents. Then head down to the basement to find more information. Quickly make your way to save Wilhelm. Once that is done, sneak your way to the marked location at the back of the camp. Then use intuition to avoid fighting the recruits. You will then have to fight Rolf and the two lieutenants. You will automatically return to New Serene, where Kurt will discuss the situation with Major Seiglinde. Talk to Kurt about this situation and tell him about a childhood memory with Constantin. (Again this must be completed to romance him) Return to your quarters, and Petrus will have his first companion quest for you.

Petrus' Companion Quest: The Vices of the Mother Cardinal

Return to San Matheus and purchase three comfortable vests from the merchant in the main plaza. Put one on yourself and the other two on your companions. Head into the palace and make your way to the third floor. On your way, the Mother Cardinal will automatically have a conversation with you, and you will receive the quest Trouble in Eden. Continue upstairs after that to find some information. Then head back to the second floor to obtain a key. Head to the basement to find a ledger, an earring, and some alcohol. Once you have exited the basement, you can change back into your standard gear and then question all the indicated individuals. Your goal is to get information about the woman in the green coat. You may have to question the same individual more than once for the option to appear. If it doesn't come up, talk to others, and then return. You will then be tasked with finding the Candy Cane. After your conversation with Mr. Cane, the quest will be over. With that done, let's take care of progressing our relationship with some of the factions.

Theleme Side Quest: Trouble in Eden

Head to Wenshaganaw and make your way toward the NE map exit. Depending on where you enter, you may come across a powerful guardian. My advice at this point is to let it kill the bandits and sneak past it. Its pounce attacks are powerful, and it has a bunch of health. The map exit will take you to the region of Tir dob.

Once arriving in Eden, speak to all the indicated individuals, and investigate the building where the tablets were stored. Then you will talk to the former leader of the village. You need to convince him to help you find the tablets through charisma. He will send you to see the mother of one of the exiles. Use intuition to find out where the tablets are kept. Follow her advice and discretely retrieve the tablets. Return to Eden to complete this quest and obtain the next quest in this chain: "Theological Conflicts." You will not be able to do that one until later on.

Bridge Alliance Side Quest: Attacks on Caravans

Head back to the region of Hikmet. Talk to the captain and then the merchant in the outpost. Head out to where the attack occurred and investigate the area. Proceed to the marked location and obtain a note off of a body there. Continue onward to find a couple of small groups of rebels you will need to take out. Eventually, you will come to a camp where you can talk with the rebels. Choose to leave rather than attacking and then return to the camp to complete the quest.

Native Side Quest: A Peculiar Alliance (Part 2)

Head to the Village of Vignamri in Glendgnamvar.

You will find that the emissary has already arrived. You will now need to wait 2 hours before returning to speak with Ulan. You will then be sent to another village to convince the leader to allow trade. The village is in the region of Magasvar.

On your way, you will pass through a swamp with a guardian in the middle of it. Go ahead and take it out now because it is one of the easiest guardians to beat. Once he's dead, you will receive

Meet with Mordun and convince him to take part in the peace talks. Return to Ulan. Head to the location of the peace talks and save Mordun. Return to Ulan once more to finish this quest. Now back to the main questline.

Main Quest: Scholars in the Expedition

Make your way to the search area in Magasvar with Siora as one of your companions. Search the camp and then search the other area to find a chest with a journal inside. Head to the swamp area via the northern path, and you will come across some natives. Let Siora talk to them to avoid a confrontation. Continue forward, and you will meet Aphra. After your conversation, she will take off. Follow her to the Didgidensen camp and wait till nightfall. Head down the path to the east and then go north to find a passage that you can travel through with intuition level 2. Sneak your way to the north, where you will find a key in a chest. Head down the nearby stairs and release the prisoners. Sneak back the way you came in and head back to the camp. There will be a group of natives back at your camp. Fight them for a bit, and they will ask you to spare them. Do so, then return to camp, and you will be returned to the Region of Hikmet. After your conversation with the Governor, you will receive another story quest, and Aphra will join you as a companion. Now for more side Quests.

Native Side Quest: Inquisition

Return to San Matheus and go into the woods to talk with the natives there. They will give you a key. Go to the home to find a letter and another key. Upon leaving, you will be approached by a group of inquisitors. You will automatically talk your way out of the issue of searching the house. Head to the office and find the chest. Take the information back to the natives. The inquisitors will show up mid-conversation, and you will have to fight them. Take them out to complete this quest. This should bring your reputation with the Natives to friendly and earn you the achievement

Native Side Quest: Logging Expedition

Return to the Village of Vigyigidaw in Vedrad and head to Cwenvar.

Talk to the guards and then talk to the doctor nearby. Search the bodies and then discuss all available options with the doctor. She will direct you to some hunters. Head to the search area and kill the beasts. Natives will approach you. Justify yourself to them and then use charisma to gain the truth about what happened. Return to New Serene and go to the third floor of the palace for some advice. Then head to the basement to retrieve a document. After that, go to see Madam De Morange. Speak with her about all available options to progress this quest and the main quest, "An Ancient Secret." After your conversation is over, you will automatically return to Sir de Courcillion. Travel to Vedrad and speak with Dunncas about the situation. He will give you another quest, so go ahead and complete that now.

Native Side Quest: The Blood Price

Return to Cwenvar and head to the mine. The soldiers will prevent you from entering the area. Head to the area to the right of the soldiers where you can get a look at what is going on below. Now return to Sir de Courcillion, grab documents from the archives, and return to Madam de Morange yet again. (Yes a bit of Deja Vu). Then go to the port to talk to the owner of the mine. Return to Sir de Courcillion and then return to the mine. Give the information to the guards and then head into the mine. You will need to kill the owner and his guards and then free the natives. Return to Dunncas to complete the quest. Head to a travel plaza or residence, and Aphra will have her first quest for you.

Aphra's Companion Quest: Islander Knowledge

Head to the camp near Vigyigday in Vedrad and proceed out the northeastern map exit. This will take you to the region of Dorgred.

Head to the marked location and fight off the creatures there. Then you will need to heal one of the natives who was poisoned. If you have been looting along the way as I suggested in the "hints and tips" section of this guide, you will have the necessary items on you. If not, search the bodies of the creatures and the nearby area for the needed ingredients. After healing the native, you will be automatically transported to see Dunncas. After a couple of conversations, you will need to follow the elders discretely. Once you reach the cave, the elders will realize you are there, and you will lose one reputation point with the natives. It is unavoidable, but it won't hurt your overall reputation status with them. Listen to the conversation afterward to complete the quest. Now return to the main questline.

Main Quest: Demonical Cult

Make your way to Tir dob with Siora in your party. You will meet up with Sister Ephesia and talk to her about her progress. Then you will head into the village and speak with the leader, the wise man, and several villagers. After that, go back to Sister Ephesia and tell her what you learned. You will then need to get into the man's tent. I recommend talking to the woman nearby. Siora will help you convince her to distract the man. Go inside the tent and investigate and then return to the sister once more. Go to the marked location to wait until the man leaves. Crouch and follow him without being spotted. Eventually, you will come to the circle of elements where you will receive a vision. You will then need to click the monuments in the order revealed in the vision

Enter the cave and witness the ritual. Return to Derdre to complete this quest and receive the next quest in the chain.

Main Quest: Face to Face with the Demon

Travel to Vedvilvie.

You will meet up with a hermit. Search all the indicated areas and then return to the hermit. He will tell you to play the drums in the center of the swamp.

Now you need to get the potion to complete the ritual. There is a key on a dead body near the western mural that you investigated. This key opens the chest in the back area by the tent. This chest has the needed potion inside. Take it to the altar and prepare to fight another guardian. Once it is dead, go back to Derdre to complete this quest. She will give you the quest "Camo of the Ordo Luminus." By now, Aphra will have her second quest available. So do that next.

Aphra's Companion Quest: The Cave of Knowledge

Go to Vigyigidaw and speak to the people you saved in Aphra's previous quest. After that, go to Dorgred to find an altar in front of the cave. Go to the nearby camp and convince them to leave. Then search the body to receive the item needed for the altar. Explore the cave and then hide and observe the two young natives. Exit the cave after that to complete the quest and receive her final quest.

Aphra's Companion Quest: The Linking Ritual

Wait for a day and then return to the circle where you initially rescued the two natives. Speak with all the natives as directed and then go to the marked location to witness the ritual. After it is over, members of the Bridge Alliance will attack. Take them out to complete this quest. Now for more side quests.

Native Side Quest: Camp of the Ordo Luminus

Go to San Matheus and talk to the mother cardinal instead of finding Eseld (This will prevent you from losing reputation with Theleme). She will send you to the barracks to gather some troops to help with the situation. Head to the camp and talk with the soldiers. Head inside and find all the evidence and set the prisoners free. Return to the Mother Cardinal and then Derde. You will lose 1 point of reputation with the natives for using the Governor route but will get it back for rescuing the captives.

Theleme Side Quest: Theological Conflicts

Return to Eden with Siora in your party. Talk with Brother Fedilas and examine the body. Then speak with a couple of the natives to receive a potion to heal the wounded man with. After that, travel to Vedvilvie and follow the newly opened path to meet up with the theologians. Speak with Brother Virgil and Sister Eugenia about the situation and then head out to find the missing members of their team. Siora will help in your examinations that would require two science otherwise. Go back to the camp and talk to Brother Virgil, who will confess. Reveal what happened to everyone, and you will then need to fight Brother Virgil and his followers. This will give you a negative point of reputation, but finding the missing researchers gives you two positive points of reputation, which leaves a net positive. Sister Eugenia will then provide the next quest to you.

Theleme Side Quest: In the Footsteps of Saint Matheus

Head to the northeast area of the map, and you will come across another guardian. Take it out, and you will receive the achievement

Head into the cave and investigate all the areas inside. Return to the camp and tell Sister Eugenia about what you found. (Note this quest will end and "Saint and Wild" will begin automatically at this point) Tell her the truth about the discoveries you found. Brother Virgil will show up with a group of people that you will have to kill. Return to a camp and put Petrus & Siora in your team, and sleep to wait the necessary amount of time. Head to San Matheus and speak with the Mother Cardinal. Use charisma to help convince her of the truth of your findings. Then mention the attack by the Otto Luminous. Petrus and Siora will both help persuade her. If everything goes right, the Mother Cardinal will decide to share the discoveries with her nation. You will also achieve a friendly reputation with Theleme which will give you the achievement

Now back to the main questline.

Main Quest: Mystery of the Ancient Ruin

Go to Glendgnamvar and speak to the miners at the mining village. Purchase a new cog from the merchant and then head into the mine. Climb up the ladder on the right-hand side and proceed to a gate. You will automatically use the cog you purchased to open it. Proceed through to the ruins and investigate the marked locations. In the southern area, you will need to take out another guardian. Return to Constantine and report your findings. This will complete this quest and give the next one.

Main Quest: The Prince's Secret

Speak to the Admiral, and she will ask you to help with a problem she is having with Theleme. Return to your residence and talk to Petrus regarding the issue and then head to San Matheus. Talk to the Bishop and the Naut Commander. Then investigate the missing Nauts, and eventually, the Bishop will approach you. Use intuition to get information from the man without any conflict. Head to the prison and bribe the guard to free the Nauts. Speak with the Naut commander again about the Naut secrets and then put on a sailor's coat and head into the back of the warehouse. Leave your sailor coat on and head to the hangar to investigate the secrets. After that, head to the Ordo Luminus' Quarters to discover the inquisitor's plot. You will have to take out inquisitors inside, but it will not hurt your relationship with Theleme. Go to the mother cardinal and talk to her about everything except the Naut's secrets. (If you do you will lose reputation with the Nauts and make getting everyone friendly unobtainable) Return to New Serene and talk to the Admiral. She will reveal the truth to you. Now head back to your residence and put Kurt in your team. Then speak to Constantin to complete this quest. As a result, you will receive the achievement

Main Quest: Treason!

This will automatically begin after the previous quest ends. Head upstairs and downstairs, take out the enemies, and gather Constantin's advisors. Then take all of them to the basement for safety. When that's done, head to Madam De Morange's home to warn her. You will then need to inform the other Governors by utilizing the messengers. You will need to use charisma on one of them to get him to relay the message. Put on a guard uniform and head into the coin guard barracks. Head upstairs to discover that the ring leader is attempting to flee. Head outside and kill him. After he is dead, you will receive the achievement

You will immediately be transported to the prison, and the quest will be "Assess the Situation with Constantin." Head out of the cell, and you will automatically meet up with Constantin. You will receive another main quest when the conversation is done. Leave that for now as Petrus will have his next quest ready to do.

Petrus' Companion Quest: Dangerous Bets (Part 1)

Head to San Matheus and talk to the fight organizer. He will tell you that you need to prove yourself before you can challenge the champion. So head into the arena and use the camp there to choose which companions you wish to use to compete with. I recommend Aphra and Siora. Complete the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth challenges. Killing the final boss of these fights will give you the achievement

For beating all five challenges, you will receive the achievement

Note that this will also complete the side quest "Champion of the Arena." Return to the fight organizer with Petrus in your party, and he will take care of arranging the fight. Wait until nighttime and then talk to the Candy Cane. Use charisma to convince him to help you. Head back to your residence and sleep for 24 hours. Return to the arena and take out the champion. Note you will not have your companions help during the fight. See the Mother Cardinal to complete the quest. Now head back to New Serene and speak with the Naut Admiral to receive a quest.

Naut Side Quest: The Admiral's Secret Service

Speak with Captain Ruben and his crew. Head to the tavern and deal with the thugs. Talk to the innkeeper and buy a drink from him. Then talk to the man at the bar about everything. You will automatically give him the drink to coax the information from him. Head to the location he tells you about and then head to the nearby hill to wait to witness the drop. Follow the man and then use charisma to get him to reveal what is going on. Report back to the Admiral to complete the quest and start another one.

Naut Side Quest: The Spy from Theleme

Go to the marked location and ask about Alba. He will direct you to the port to question another Naut. Head to the tavern and speak to Alba's father. Head to Wenshaganaw and eavesdrop on the conversation. Talk to the man and use charisma to convince him to stop his investigation. Release the native, meet him in his nearby village, and ask him about Alba. Somewhere along the way, the quest becomes "Sub Rosa." The native will give you her location, which is in a cave to the north. Head there via the west, and you will come across the guardian you snuck past earlier. Take it out now, and you will receive the achievement

Head to the cave to find Alba. Return to the Admiral in New Serene to complete the quest and get the next one. This will also be your 20th completed side quest which will give you the achievement

Naut Side Quest: The Enemy Within

Talk to the Nauts at the dock about the captain. Then head to the tavern and talk to Gretchen. Use intuition with her to get her to reveal the captain's secrets. Head to the docks, wait in the marked location, and then carefully follow the captain. You need to be careful not to be seen, but you also can't fall too far behind, or you will have to start over. Eventually, you will get a choice of intervening or waiting to see what he puts in the box. Choose to wait and then talk to the Admiral. Return to the dead drop location with the Admiral and wait for the traitor to show up. Assist the Admiral and take out the traitor. Collect the stolen items and return to the Admiral in town. This will complete this quest and bring your reputation with the Nauts to friendly. Return to your residence, and Petrus will have his final quest available.

Petrus' Companion Quest: The Sins of Father Petrus

Return to the Admiral to try to get the information you are looking for. She will send you to see a Captian in Hikmet. Take Vasco, and the captain will retrieve his logbook for you. Head to Vignamri and talk to Ulan. Then go to find Slan. After discovering she is not in her tent and talking to another villager, you will be sent to an area in the north. Take out the animals attacking the woman to complete the quest. Now return to the main questline again.

Main Quest: Quest for Panacea

Head to Magasvar and speak with Daren. Use intuition to get her to agree to help you. She will send you to Frasoneigad.

There you will need to talk to the villagers. After speaking with all of them, you will have a couple of tasks to perform. Go to the camp nearby and put Kurt in your team so that you can repair the bells and then complete both tasks you were given. Return to the natives, and they will provide you with the information you seek. Head to the location and talk to the woman. She will not trust you and flee, leaving you to fight her "pets." Pursue the woman, and you will come to a blocked passage. This will automatically give you the next quest.

Main Quest: In Pursuit of the Tierna Harh Cadachtas

Examine the door, and the alter and then use intuition to continue. You will be transported back to the village. Use charisma to convince the man to help you. Go into the woman's hut and investigate all the marked areas. Head out to the marked area to find the seeds you need and then return to the blocked passage. Place the seed in the altar and head through the passage to the other side. Proceed to the marked area and take out the guardian. Take out the spy and then take the woman back to her village. Return to the region of Hikmet and speak with the Governor about what happened. You will receive a side quest from him as a result.

Bridge Alliance Side Quest: At the Heart of the Rebellion

Speak with the captain at the outpost. Head out to find the missing patrol and heal the wounded man. Head back to Frasonegad and use charisma to get the information you need. He will lead you to his camp. You will learn of an impending attack. Agree to help the rebels. This will cause you to lose reputation with the Bridge Alliance, but it won't matter in the long run. Return to the Governor in Hikmet to complete the quest and receive the next one.

Bridge Alliance Side Quest: Doctor Asili's Experiments

Head to the laboratory, and the guards will stop you. Use the nearby scaffolding to enter discretely. Head inside, take out any of the guards and head to the cells, and speak with the prisoners. Head to the house and take out the guards inside. Just past them is a room to the left of the stairs to the second floor. Head inside to get the keys you will need later. There is also another door on this floor, near where you entered. Head inside and deal with the assistant as you see fit. The key to the doctor's office is in this room. Head upstairs and confront the doctor. Make sure to loot the chests here to find a cog. Choose to apprehend him and then head out and release the prisoners. Head to the other exit point and repair the machine with the cog you found. Make your way through the cavern and then return to the Governor. He will allow you to participate in the trial of the doctor, which is the next quest.

Bridge Alliance Side Quest: The Trial

Head to see the attorney, and then you will need to talk to various individuals. Speak with Aphra, the Naut, the alchemist, and the researchers. When speaking with the doctor, you will need to use intuition to have him testify. After that is done, head to Vidshadhir and talk to the natives. Return to the attorney and tell her about what you accomplished. Start the trial, and you will automatically return to the Governor. This will bring your relationship to friendly with the Bridge Alliance which will give you the achievement

You now need to attend the execution with Aphra to complete the quest. Head back to New Serene and head to the Coin Guard Barracks and speak to the quartermaster to receive a quest.

Coin Guard Side Quest: Contraband

Talk to the innkeeper in the tavern about the missing supplies and then talk to the customs officer. Grab the key from the pier and then use intuition to gain more information from the customs officer. Meet the man at the north gate at night and then hide in the marked location to observe the meeting. Rescue the customs officer from his attackers. Head to Hikmet and go to the dispensary. The guards will tell you to leave, so take them out and then take out Ludwig. Return to Manfred at the Coin Guard Barracks in New Serene to complete this quest and receive another.

Coin Guard Side Quest: Dirty Traffic

Head to see the Admiral of the Nauts and then go to San Matheus and speak with the Guard Quartermaster. Question all the lieutenants, and along the way, you will be approached with an offer of help. Head out to meet with the man who will tell you about some natives who are being held as prisoners. Go to Tir Dob and get Derdre to help you. Head to the logging site in San Matheus, take out the guards, loot them for the keys, and free the prisoners. Hide in the marked location and then take out Egon's men when they arrive. Return to the quartermaster in San Matheus and then to Manfred in New Serene. He will give you the final part of this quest.

Coin Guard Side Quest: Egon's Face

Head upstairs and speak with the captain. You will then head out to the secret camp and take out everyone inside and out. Gather all the evidence inside and then return to New Serene. Speak with Manfred and then go out to the courtyard and take out Egon and his men. This will finish off this quest, and you should now have a friendly reputation with all the factions. Go back to the main questline.

Main Quest: The Suffering of Constantin

Head to Wenshaganaw and speak with the healer with Siora in your party. He will ask for your help with the problems his village is having. Speak with the hunter and then the other villagers to obtain more information about the attacks. Go to the nearby camp and replace Siora with Kurt. Go back to the village and repair the hunter's weapon so that he will trust you and give you the remaining information you need. Head out and destroy all three nests, find the missing villagers, and convince the missionaries to leave (Note that to do this, you will have to find a note on a dead missionary when finding the missing villagers). Return to the village once all of that is completed, speak to the family members, and then talk to the healer. You will automatically return to Constantin. After talking with the healer, your quest will automatically become the next in the main questline.

Main Quest: The Trial of the Water (Part 1)

After speaking with Constantine, head to Dorgred and present the seal you were given to be allowed to talk to Glendan. After he tells you about the trial of the water, Siora's next quest will become available. Go ahead and do that now. On your way out of the tent, you will automatically talk with one of the natives outside regarding the trial.

Siora's Companion Quest: Promises Set in Stone

Return to Vedrad and speak to the missionaries. After that, head to Falrihistel to investigate the seal. Go back to the village and investigate the hut. Head to see Dunncas, and he will send you to look in an area in the northwest. Head to the location and speak to the keeper of promises. Use intuition to get him to help you. After that, you can transport back to Siora's village automatically. Speak to Siora's sister and let her know what you found. Go back to the missionaries and use charisma to get them to leave. This will cause you to lose reputation with Theleme, but again it is not a problem. This will complete this quest. Talk to Siora and tell her that it seems logical given their culture. Return to a camp and speak to Siora to receive her final quest.

Siora's Companion Quest: The Queen's Farewell

Return to Siora's village and talk to her sister again. Go to the marked area, fight off all the creatures, and destroy the nests. Head back to the village to purchase the censers and then head to a camp to craft the mortuary lotion. You will be able to return to the burial mound after that automatically. Place the items to complete the quest. Talk to Siora about what she intends to do now and tell her you would understand if she had to help her people. Return to any of your residences and save your game. Talk to Siora and accept the rendevous. Head upstairs and tell her you love her, after all. This will give you the achievement

Reload your save and then speak to Kurt to get his final quest.

Kurt's Companion Quest: Settling Scores

Head to the Coin Guard barracks and speak to the commander. She will give you a letter to help you with your objective. Go to San Matheus and talk to the inquisitor and then the corporal in charge of the prison. Purchase or craft the three sleeping potions and then return to the corporal. Go to the room you are directed to and use charisma with the soldiers to get them to leave. Then speak to the lieutenants and then kill them when they get rowdy. Head to the Major's residence and take him down to complete the quest. Since this is the final companion quest, you will earn the achievement

Speak with Kurt and ask him what his plans are now and then tell him that you hope you will be part of it. Return to your quarters, speak with him again, agree to the rendevous, head upstairs, and tell him you love him after all. This will give you the achievement

That is the last of the side quests, so now its time to finish the main story

Main Story Quest: The Trial of the Water (Part 2)

Craft or purchase a sleeping potion and then go to the marked location and enter the cave. In the first area, crouch and sneak to the dead beast and apply the sleeping potion to put all the creatures in the area to sleep. Head down the left path and use vigor to jump the gap in the next area to avoid the creatures there. You will then reach another element puzzle. After recalling your vision, activate the elemental stones in the order that they were revealed in the vision.

Head over to the guardian after that and hit cn_B to tame it. Examine the mural and return to Glendan and tell him about the trial. Finishing this trail gives the achievement

You will then be directed back to Constantin (the name of the quest changes as well). When you get back, you find that he is missing. You will now have two quest objectives to choose from. I did the one that came up automatically, but they intersect, so it does not matter which order you do them.

Main Story Quest: On the High Kings Trial

Go to see Ulan and talk to him about the high king. He will give you the location of the man's village. Head to Steiger Falag.

Make your way toward the marked location. To get there, you have to head east first. You will come across another guardian, so kill it. Behind it, you will find a chest that contains the remaining two pieces of the legendary warrior king armour set. Once you get to the village, talk to the man, the woman, and then the man again to learn where to go next. Head to the marked location to find a native woman being held captive by members of the Bridge Alliance. Head down to her, taking out a few people on the way. Once you reach her, use intuition to get the other Bridge Alliance members to let her go. Free her, and she will lead you the rest of the way to the Cave of Knowledge and let you inside. Make your way through the cave and examine all four murals. The woman will then runoff. Head out the back exit and carefully make your way to the next objective marker. The woman left some traps along the path. You will eventually reach a path to the mountain. At this point, this quest ends and changes to the next one.

Main Story Quest: Vinbar's Sanctuary (Part 1)

Make your way through the confusing pathway toward the map exit. You will then be in Meinei Falag.

Make your way through this new area, and you will reach a sealed door. At this point, you only have one of the two seeds necessary to open the door. So, change to the other quest.

Main Story Quest: Searching for Constantin

Head to Magasvar and go to the marked location. Investigate the area, follow the trail, and investigate some more until you come to a dead-end. Head to the alliance outpost and talk to the commander at the gate. Convince him to give you more information, and he will direct you to the infirmary. The nurse will provide you with a recipe for a potion for burns. Head to the camp's crafting table, create the potion and return it to the nurse. Go to the closest camp, sleep for 24 hours, and return to the camp to talk to the wounded man. This will complete this quest and start the next one.

Main Story Quest: Dead Man's Voice

Go to talk to Daren about the attack. She will allow you to examine the body of the healer. You will need intuition level 2 or Aphra in your party to do this. Speak to Mev, and she will tell you about a ritual. Go back to the site of the attack to obtain all the needed items for the ritual. Craft the potion needed at your camp and then join Mev at the ritual site. If it is not night time, you will need to wait until then to begin the ritual. You will learn who took Constantin and will need to find Cera to continue. This is where the two quests combine, but you need to follow the other one to continue.

Main Story Quest: Vinbar's Sanctuary (Part 2)

Return to Vinbar's village and speak to Cera. She will attack you, and you will have to kill her. This will cost you one reputation point with the Natives, but it is not an issue. Loot the woman's body to receive the seed you need to enter the sanctuary. Return to the sanctuary and place the seeds into the altars. Entering the sanctuary completes the "Dead Man's Voice" quest. Go through the area until you finally find Constantin. Fight the creature and free Constantin. This will give you the achievement

You will then automatically return to New Serene. Go to see your cousin and find out what happened. This will complete this quest.

Main Story Quest: A New High King

Go to speak to Glendan. You will lose another reputation point with the Natives for killing Vigmar, but again it won't be an issue. You will then need to get at least one of the three potential candidates to support you. To make things as easy as possible for getting all the achievements, go to all three people. I started with Derdre, then Dunncas, and finally, Ulan, but the order does not matter. They all agree because we helped all of them in the various side quests of the game. Head to the marked location to begin your search for the crown. When you reach the marked location, you will need to take out yet another guardian. Head into the cave and go to the left. You will fight some more creatures, and then the path will split. Retake the left path, and you will find the crown. Derdre will approach. Tell her you are going to keep the crown and then fight her off (she gives up quickly). Head to the cave exit and make the long journey back to any travel point. Return to Dorhadgenedu and save your game upon arriving. **It is crucial that you do not save over this game from this point forward. Keep a note of this save as we will be using it to get most of the end game achievements done without adding extra playthroughs.** Now it is time to choose the high king. We will need to select all three eventually, so it does not matter which order you do it in. I decided to go from worst to best and started with Derdre. The new high king will be crowned, and you will receive the achievement

Main Story Quest: Face to Face with a God

Speak to Derdre, and she will tell you to meet her in two days. Choose to wait for two days, and you will automatically go to the location.

Enter and keep to the right, always like you were told. At the end of the path, you will meet the god of the island and learn some interesting information. Head back out and talk to Derdre to complete the quest and earn the achievement

Return to New Serene and see Constantin. You will learn that both the Bridge Alliance and Theleme have been experiencing attacks. Speak to him after that about your visit with the god of the island. Don't tell him about the shocking information you received. You now have the choice of which city you want to help first. It does not matter, but I chose to do Hikmet first.

Main Story Quest: The Attack on Hikmet

Speak to the Governor of Hikmet and then speak to the commander of the outpost. Use charisma to convince her to lead you to the trackers. Go to Magasvar, talk to the scouts, and then speak to Daren. You will then need to fight off a bunch of creatures and a guardian. Return to the Governor to complete this quest.

Main Story Quest: The Attack on San Matheus

This is very similar to the last quest. Speak to the Governor of San Matheus and then speak to the lieutenant of the outpost. Wait until nightfall, and then fight off three waves of creatures. Head to Tir dob, loot the body and the chest in the camp, and then head into Cwenvar. Follow the path and fight another guardian. Return to the Governor to complete this quest and then return to Constantin to progress the story.

Main Story Quest: Footsteps of Madness

After your conversation, Constantin will take off, and you will question the guard about it. Use charisma to get more information out of the man. Use the key the guard gave you to enter Constantin's quarters and grab his notes. Head to Cwenvar, defeat the creatures attacking the natives, and then talk to them about your cousin. Head up the path and wait until your cousin arrives. Follow him and fight off another guardian. The god of the island will speak to you again and end this quest. As a result, you will obtain the achievement

There are now two quests. Start by gathering your allies.

Main Story Quest: Together for Tier Fradee

This quest involves going to each of the leaders of the various factions and convincing them to help. Since we made sure that everyone had a friendly status with us, they will all agree. So do them in whatever order you want. Once you have talked to all five groups, speak to Glendan. At this point, you will receive the achievement

Main Story Quest: Breaking the Lines

Return to New Serene and head to the marked location on the east side of the map. Head into the cave and grab the map and the research notes. Go to speak to Dunncas, and he will give you seeds to help you. Travel to Frasoneigad, kill the guardian, and plant the seed. Then, travel to Vedvilvie and do the same. Head to Dorgred and press cn_Y to gather all your companions. After the discussion, you will be transported to Anemhad and start the last quest of the game.

Main Story Quest: Assult on the Heart

Head up the path with all of your companions. You will stop to fight creatures at various points, and some of your companions will stay behind at each point. This will leave you to face the final guardian alone. Kill the bad guy to finish the game and earn the achievement

Now it is time to reload the save you made before choosing the high king. Again, do not save over this as you will need to use it again. This time select Ulan as the high king and then proceed exactly as you did before, completing all the remaining story quests. Since you have done all of this before, feel free to blaze through the dialogue and skip the cutscenes. Kill the bad guy for the second time and earn the achievement

That's two down and one to go. Reload the save you made before choosing the high king once more. This time you can save over it. Choose Dunncas as the high king and proceed. When you finish up the two attack quests and return to Constantin, I recommend creating a save that you do not save over. This will make things much easier for mopping up the remaining achievements that can be obtained during this playthrough while we are on easy. Make sure to kill the bad guy once again, and you will receive the achievement

That's the end of the story, ending with the best possible ending. Now, all we have to do is clean up a few achievements before starting the extreme playthrough.
