Quick Plot
History Channel: Battle For Pacific is a World War II First Person Shooter game set during the time where the Americans were against the Japanese in The Battle of Iwo Jima, The Battle of the Corregidor, and other famous battles around the Japanese Islands. You play as an American Marine assigned with a squad and you get to play ten levels fighting against the Japanese through these famous battles. Since the game is based upon the History TV Channel, you are treated to cutscenes and archive footage from World War II. You are also treated to a multiplayer mode that allows you to choose a class of characters, fight either as the Americans or the Japanese, and go against your foes in various game modes.
The game has received a lot of negative feedback and is known to be one of the worst XBox 360 games available. It has been criticized for containing a short campaign with a squad that gives you an automatic failure if you don’t keep up with them, awkward control systems and bad camera angles. In addition the multiplayer has been criticized for having lack of features and little customization option to choose from since the class categories in this game are pre-done. Finally the graphics and gameplay in this game are also noted for not being updated to the modern generation despite being released in 2007.
This game has no relation any films, media associations, or other sources that share the same name as this game.
My Hints & Tip
Campaign Difficulty Glitch: There is a well known glitch that you may run into as you play the game. The glitch prevents people from getting this achievement after they have completed a full playthrough in the campaign and it requires them to restart the campaign from the very beginning.
If you have chosen to play the game on the hardest difficulty, but you decide to give up and replay the game on another occasion, there is a possibility that the achievement may not unlock since the game may automatically change the difficulty from the Hard to Normal. Unfortunately you will not know if the difficulty has changed since the game does not present a menu that shows you what difficulty you are currently playing. Therefore the only way to truly figure out if the glitch has happened or not is to complete the entire campaign and wait to see if this achievement pops.
Thus, to prevent yourself from replaying the campaign multiple times, you are highly recommended to complete the campaign in one sitting on the hardest difficulty without returning to the main menu, exiting to the XBox 360 Dashboard, or turning off your XBox 360 Console. The plus side of the campaign is that it is possible to complete it in about 2–5 hours, depending upon your skill with FPS games.
Recent players who have attempted to get this achievement have been successful in obtaining it after they have played the game in multiple sittings. However there are still other players who have tried to do the same method, but suffered with the fact that the achievement didn't pop for them until they completed the campaign in one sitting. It's up to you if you just want to complete the campaign in one sitting and then guarantee to get the achievement or if you want to play part of the campaign, finish it for a day and then continue with whatever you've got left for another day and have a 50/50 chance in getting the achievement.
There are no known glitches when playing the online multiplayer that prevents you from getting any online/offline achievements in the game so you do not have to worry about anything like this when playing the multiplayer part on the game.
Other Tips
During the campaign, you will be assigned objectives which you need to complete in order to progress. When this happens, you are given a navigation point on your screen telling you how far you are from the objective.
If you take damage during the game, your screen will go red. The more damage you take, the darker the red will go eventually killing you. You will need to avoid damage and take cover if you wish to restore your health back to normal.
You cannot Sprint throughout the entire game.
You are assigned to be with a squad leader and at least 2 other members. There will be multiple occasions where you must keep up with your squad when you are in battle. If you stray too far away from your squad during a mission, you will be notified and you will have a short period of time to regroup with them or you will automatically fail the mission.
You will have some objectives during the missions where you will be all alone. This means you can roam around the level you are playing as you please until you are assigned with a squad once again.
When you are playing online multiplayer, you will have the option to choose a certain class for whichever team you are assigned/choose to be on. These classes will automatically have two default weapons equipped for you. However on the battlefield you will notice other weapons or ammunition you can pickup if you are low on ammo on the weapon you have or you fancy something different.
When you play multiplayer on this game, if you run out of ammo on the weapon you are holding, then simply walk over the weapon or ammo that is placed on the ground to replenish it. Some weapons in the multiplayer side of the game are only available on the ground of the multiplayer map you are playing on. Also when you choose certain character classes in the game, they may be assigned different weapons compared to the previous classes that are available.
If you are hosting Player Matches in this game, then once the match has been completed, you do not have to return to the Main Menu and host again with the same settings. Instead if you wait a few seconds after the match has been completed, then you will get the option to press
to restart the match with the settings applied. In addition you can also change the settings while you and your partner are sitting in the lobby as well making the organization slightly easier to do. The host will also take their partner wherever they go, so even if the partner is sitting idle in the game, the match can still be played.
