Iron Snout is a simple, one-button Miniclip game from 2014, ported over to Xbox One by Ratalaika. Much like any other game by this developer, it will be a very, very easy 1000G, in around 30 minutes or so.
The controls don't warrant their own page as they are incredibly simple. and punch left and right respectively, as well as change the direction you are facing. does a crouch-kick in the direction you're facing, jumps, and using or while in the air will kick left or right respectively. Using them while crouched will uppercut. and are also used both to catch and throw objects. Push the stick in the direction of the green highlighted object (don't try with red highlighted objects) to grab it, then press it in the desired direction to throw it.
Alternatively, you can use . for left attack, for right attack, for crouch-kicks, for jump. This method is much harder, but we will abuse using both control schemes simultaneously for some achievements later on.
The objective of the game is very simple. Survive as long as possible. You will be attacked by wolves from all directions, wielding various modes of transportation and weapons. Simply punch/kick them when they get close or throw items at them from a distance to kill them. That's all you have to know, and so with that, let's get into the walkthrough.
Classic
To start off, load up a game of Classic. The first thing you will have is a quick tutorial showing you how to fight, in which you will be tasked with punching balloons. Simply follow the on-screen button prompts. You're going to want to finish the tutorial in under 10 seconds, so to help, here is the order you will need to hit:
, , , , , , , , , , , , , ,
When the first prompt appears on screen, simply do all the above prompts as quick as you can and you will unlock:
Now, there are three more achievements we will be attempting in Classic Mode; Wolf Skewer, Fashion Police and Forbidden Love...
The first achievement is really easy, and can only be done on the level you initially have unlocked (Woods). Wait for a regular wolf to come from the left side of the screen, then uppercut them ( ) and then quickly do a jump kick while they're in the air ( ). If done correctly, they will get impaled by the tree branch in the top left and unlock:
During your classic play, you will see some wolves that look like this:
If you see one of these, wait for them to get close and punch them to death. I'd recommend doing 5 single punches, not in succession, as doing a 5 punch combo can knock their basket far away. They will drop their basket so quickly grab it. Wait until you see another wolf, then throw the basket at them and it will land on their head (provided they don't already have a hat). This will unlock:
Now, continue playing until you see a baby wolf:
This is the easiest wolf-specific achievement. Simply don't attack them and wait for them to jump on you. They'll start humping you and you'll unlock:
Now, back out and load up a fight in Sudden Death.
Sudden Death
This mode is just like Classic, except you can only take one hit of damage before you die, so you have to be extra careful. You're going to want to get 10 kills in one game. In doing so, you will inevitably get a 25-hit combo. Simply keep making attempts until you unlock:
It really isn't difficult. You will likely get it in 3 or so attempts. Just be careful of the dual-wielding wolves. Be ready to duck under their projectile attacks.
Once you're done, back out and load up Pig vs 100.
Pig vs 100
The first thing we're doing is BeckHAM, which requires you to kick the same head twice. In order to take the head off of a wolf, you have to make the finishing blow an uppercut, which is done by crouching, then using or . For regular wolves, it takes 5 punches to kill, so we're going to use the following method:
At the start of the game, hit the first wolf twice. Then, turn around and wait for the second wolf to get close. Punch him once. At this point, a third wolf should appear on the same side as the first wolf. You will take damage during all of this but that's okay. After punching the second wolf once, do the following combo:
, ,
This will take the first wolf's head off. You will then want to jump-kick the head out of the air, at the third wolf, just before the head hits the ground, hence you will be kicking the head almost immediately after jumping. The head should hit the third wolf when he's close, bounce back, and then you want to jump kick it again. Doing so will unlock:
I'd recommend starting the fight over if you get a successful attempt, as you will have lost a lot of health.
Continue playing and you will soon see a Rocket Wolf:
Rocket Wolves go back and forth across the screen. You want to do an upwards jump kick (, ) and hit them when they are slightly past the middle of the screen. If done correctly, the rocket will curve down into the ground and explode. If you're lucky, it will curve down and collide with another wolf. Doing so will unlock:
You may have gotten this achievement while doing Classic mode, but it is easier done in Pig vs 100 mode, as there are more enemies riding rockets.
Now, you're going to want to get 50 kills in one fight. This is quickest to do in this mode, and is incredibly easy. I'd recommend mashing and while doing your left stick attacks as it will kill enemies quicker, which helps when dealing with large groups of enemies. After getting 50 kills, you will unlock:
Beat 50Beat 50 wolves in a single fight
With that all done, it's time for the grind.
Grind
As far as grinds go, this one is very, very short. You will be aiming to catch 250 items and kill 1000 wolves. Really nothing much to say about this. Grab everything that you can, and go ham on these wolves. It's easiest done in Pig vs 100, as that is the mode that the action comes quickest. Chances are, you've already got some of these achievements done, but you'll certainly still have some to grind. And so with that, I leave you on your own. Good luck with the grind, and congrats on the 1000G!
