3. Story walkthrough
Start the game by selecting play and then dive into world 1-1.
You'll have a short one-window block of text from Jack who lets you know what to do, then press . You'll travel along the map, straight towards Jill, collecting 4 coins on the way. You don't have to make any other input at all. When you reach her, you finish the level and you'll pop three achievements straight away.
Go to the next level, 1-2 and you'll be taught how to jump. Start the level then leap up the steps that appear in front of you and collect the coins along the way. Reach Jill at the top, then finish the level.
In 1-3, you'll be faced with a pit that you'll have to jump over. Instead of jumping first time, just fall straight down it and die, where you'll unlock;
The level will restart, so jump over the first pit, onto the platform and collect all the coins along the way, then down and jump over the next pit to reach Jill. Collect as many coins as possible on the following levels.
In 1-4, you'll have to jump onto floating platforms then onto dry land, and so on. On the final floating platform in front of Jill, you'll see larger coins. These coins are worth 5, instead of the usual 1, so are worth getting if you can, and I'm calling them pentacoins.
In 1-5, continually jump up to a higher level as you progress forward until you can progress that way no more. Hit the wall on the right side of the screen to send you back the way you came, then jump up to the left. On this top platform, you'll find Jill.
In 1-6, you'll be introduced to both spikes in the ground and spiked balls. As you probably guessed, you'll die if you hit these, so start the mission, jump over the spikes in the ground, then on the next platform, collect the first coin and jump over the spiked ball. Jump over the pit, then take the high road up and over the next obstacles to collect another pentacoin, then fall down onto the next platform and you'll reach Jill at the end of this.
in 1-7, you'll start on the opposite side of the map and automatically travel to the left. Jump over the first set of double spiked balls, fall down the gap to collect the coins, then jump up the next levels and over the pit. Leap over the next set of spiked balls, then bounce off the wall and launch yourself onto the higher platform. Jump to the next platform, then over the spiked balls, then to the final platform, up three more levels covered in spikes and you'll reach Jill at the end.
In 1-8, you'll find yourself on the right-hand side again, automatically traveling left. Jump up on the platforms, avoiding the spikes, then fall into the valleys, then repeat until you reach a covered spike wall with a pentacoin in front of it. Just jump over this, then carry onwards, jumping over the spiky pits, then finally jumping off the cliff at the end to reach Jill. You should hopefully have around 100 coins around now, although don't worry if you don't yet.
In 1-9, jump over the spikes and the pit, then up onto the level above the horizontal spike, bounce off the wall and climb up the platforms. You can grab the two pentacoins at the top, then you'll have to bounce off the wall at the beginning of the level, or you can just hit the wall in front of the coins and head back the other way towards Jill (you don't need the coins you get more than enough in the rest of the world). Fall down the stairs, then jump over the spikes and you'll reach Jill.
In 1-10, it is easy to go either way, but I took the low road, so I dropped onto the floating platform, then off that down to the floor. Leap over the spiked ball, then the pit, then into the gap between the spikes. Up onto the next platform and over the spiked ball, then drop down again and you'll collect two pentacoins, before jumping up the other side to reach Jill
In 1-11, you'll be introduced to springs. You don't need to hit anything extra when you go over them, you'll automatically be launched up high. Hit the spring, then you'll reach the upper level, hop over the spikes and hit the next spring to grab another pentacoin. Jump onto the next top platform, then onto the second, then fall down the gap. Grab the two pentacoins, then jump up to Jill.
In 1-12, jump up the first few platforms, hit the first spring, bounce off the wall, hit the second spring, and continue to jump up. Use the spring to leap over the spikes, hop over the spiked balls and collect the two pentacoins and bounce back over. Jump onto the top platforms and drop down, use the spring to reach the far middle platform, then hop over to Jill.
In 1-13, start, then jump over the spring and spikes, then hit the far wall and hit the spring from this direction instead. You'll be launched to the upper level, jump up and hit the wall to switch directions again. Jump over the spikes onto the two springs, you'll see Jill at the top of an upcoming pillar that you can't quite reach. Drop down, leap over the spiked balls and grab the two pentacoins, then back down and over the pit. Hit the three upcoming springs and walls and you'll reach Jill.
In 1-14, take the low road for more coins. Jump over the pit and the spiked balls and grab the pentacoin up ahead, hit the spring up ahead to launch onto the upper platform for a set of spikes with a pentacoin each side, hop over the remaining two upper platforms and hop down to Jill.
In 1-15, you start on the right again. Jump to the top platform, hit the spring and grab the three coins on the top level. Hit the spring on the next platform to grab the two pentacoins on the upper platform, bounce off the wall and hit the lower spring, jump over the spikes and fall onto the platform below the first spring you hit in this level. Fall to the lower level and jump over the horizontal spikes and spiked ball, then jump up the platforms at the end. Reflect off the wall next to the spring, then hit the spring to the left. You'll land on another pentacoin, then you can jump over to Jill.
In 1-16, you'll come across your first enemy. Jump on top of it, and press as you hit them to bounce off the enemy (you gain a bit more height if you get this right). Hit the spring, bounce off the wall and make your way up the platforms. Hop over the three spiked balls and hit the enemy on the lower platforms, follow the coins down, hit the wall and bounce back onto the lower platform, jump over or onto the enemy, grab the pentacoin, hit the wall and go back the other way. Jump over the large pit via the floating platform, use both springs, hit the enemy then you'll reach Jill. Upon completing this level you should have around 250 coins. I got it by the end of level 1-14, but this should cover everyone at this point unless you've purposefully avoided coins. If you have missed a few, there are still a few more levels for you to collect them so don't worry. For collecting 250 coins and bouncing on an enemy, you'll unlock both;
In 1-17, bounce off the first enemy, hit the wall and follow the coins down. Hit another enemy on the lower level and bounce off the wall. Jump over the next platform, then over the pit up ahead, then onto the spring in the middle of all the spikes. Navigate around the upper levels by bouncing off the wall and hopping up to the next platform, then jump over the spikes and bounce off the next enemy to safely make it to the other side. Jump up the ledge and the last enemy to reach Jill.
In 1-18, you'll want to hit the enemy, but NOT bounce off it, otherwise you'll miss the spring. Jump on it normally and you'll hit the spring and be launched up to the top level. Bounce of the wall and follow the coin path up the platforms, hit the next wall and hop over the spiked balls. Bounce off the next enemy, then over the spike balls and down the first gap. At the bottom here, you'll eventually reach a spring, which takes you to the other side. Hop over the spiked balls and the next spring, then hit the wall and hit yet another spring. Jump to the next platform and hit the wall to go back the other way, jump over the platforms and hit the second enemy, then you'll reach Jill.
In 1-19, Jump along the top platforms, bounce off the enemy in the middle of the spikes and keep traveling along the top. Drop down when you have to, then leap over the first enemy and hit the spring, then hit the wall up above, and bounce off the second enemy to reach another spring. Hit the wall, jump to the next platform, hop over the enemy and to the next platform again. Jump over the spikes and to the next platform and drop down. You'll reach three enemies in a row on steps going down. Just drop down onto the first two enemies then bounce off the third and you'll reach Jill.
In 1-20, the final level you need to complete, start by jumping over the pit and the spikes then up to the top level. Hop over the spiked balls, then hit the next spring, bounce of the following wall. Jump to the upper platform, over the spiked balls then bounce of the enemy to clear the next spiked balls. Follow the coins down the platforms, then a platform with two enemies will appear. Hit or leap over these guys, then continue to go down the platforms and hit the wall and continue falling down until you reach two more enemies. Jumping over the first will usually lead to landing on the second, then hit the wall and head back, jumping over the remaining enemy. Jump down the stairs, over the pit and up the other side and you'll reach Jill. For finishing this level, you'll have finished World 1 and you'll unlock a mini-game. You'll also earn the following;
Exit out to the main menu and go to the mini-games. Select the first one, the only unlocked mini-game called Baddie Cross and load it up, costing you 100 coins to play. For loading it, you'll earn;
You'll control baddies and have to make them jump across the platforms and the platforms change for each baddie. For every baddie that reaches the opposite side successfully, you'll be awarded 2 shop tickets. You need 25 shop tickets, and in general, you can earn about 26-28 in a single play of the mini-game. Press to set the baddie going, then make sure it safely jumps across to the other side. Repeat this until the timer runs out. Once it does, you'll earn;
Then access the shop by pressing and buy any of the 25-ticket items and you'll earn the final achievement;
