JETPACK JOYRIDE

A Walkthrough by KJT CD ACD

Edited By Itzz Sh0wt1m3

Greetings, and welcome to the Jetpack Joyride Walkthrough! This game is a quick and extremely enjoyable 200G, making it an all-round success in my book. Halfbrick Studios have once again taken a simple idea (in this case, revamping an old idea in a new way) and created an enjoyable, easily replayable casual game that's easy to pick up and reasonably easy to master.

In this walkthrough, I'll detail how to get all 200G. Now, seeing as there is no story to this game - besides you being Barry Steakfries, a business man bored with life and decides to steal an experimental jetpack and fly as far as he can with it before something in the zany lab kills him - I'll be focusing 100% on achievements.

So, click over to the next page and we'll get started.

Jetpack Joyride (Windows) - General hints and tips

INTRODUCTION:

Jetpack Joyride works on a simple system; collect coins in-game and use them to buy various gadgets, single-use upgrades and skins for your character and jetpack. Collect tokens to use the spinner once you die. With the spinner you can gain the single-use upgrades, more tokens or coins.

There aren't a lot of hints and tips to give. Most explanations are given with each achievement on the next two pages. Two tips which are partially mentioned later on but are very handy and logical:
- If you want to collect coins it is handy to equip the coin magnet and the token magnet in your games.
- For making it to the five kilometers, you should equip gadgets you find the easiest to use. My personal favorite two-combination are the Dezapinator with the turbo boost to have as little ways to die as possible, and the Gravity Belt with the Air Barrys to be able to rise and fall easier. Also bear in mind that you don't want to collect as many coins as possible, instead you'll want to concentrate on going as far as possible. Also, take tokens and vehicles if possible without dying. Finally, use single-use upgrades such as Revive, +1500 metres Head Start and the Final Blast.
- Luck is a major factor. Your scores are mostly affected by the amount of skill you have, but luck plays a great factor as well. Getting the right vehicles can make the difference between 2km and 5km.

Jetpack Joyride (Windows) - Story walkthrough

Introduction

In this section, I'll be going through achievements with item requirements, detailing which items you'll need to buy and what you need them for, offering quick and simple solutions as I go. If collecting coins to buy the gadgets and upgrades is taking you too much time, you can spend real money on in game coins.

Blinged Out

Blinged Out is a nice, easy achievement. Pick your favourite vehicle and buy it a gold skin. Bleep bloop! Achievement unlocked! The skin will cost you 10,000 coins.

Blinged Out

Buy a golden vehicle upgrade.

Blinged Out

Bullseye

Freeze-O-Matic - Gadget

This is easily the most annoying achievement in the whole game, requiring you to get an insanely low score of 200m. Equip the Freeze-O-Matic and scrape your head alone the ceiling from the very beginning. Once you hit the first Zapper, you'll land anywhere between 180 and 215. Persistence is key here. You will eventually get EXACTLY 200m. It took me a good 30-35 tries at it, whereas some people on TA have had better luck. GOOD LUCK AND MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL.

Bullseye

Get a score of EXACTLY 200m.

Bullseye

Class Act

Buy yourself the Top Hat, Classy Suit and the Traditional Jetpack, and then fly for at least 1000m (1km) sporting all three. Easy achievement that requires a bit of coin boosting. The Top Hat will cost you 7,500 coins, the Classy suit will cost you 6,000 coins, and the Traditional Jetpack 10,000 coins.

Class Act

Fly over 1km, sporting the Top Hat, Classy Suit and Traditional Jetpack.

Class Act

Crazy Freaking Skills

Free Ride - Gadgets

Spawn in, grab a free ride, and if it isn't the Crazy Freaking Teleporter, kill yourself and try again. Once you get the CFT, ride it for 800m. You may have to cross the 1000m line for the achievement to pop. If you constantly click while in the teleporter, you basically can't die, but watch where you click. If you teleport DIRECTLY onto a Zapper, your achievement is gone.

Crazy Freaking Skills

Get a best distance of over 800m in the CFT.

Crazy Freaking Skills

Germaphobe

Nerd Repellant - Gadgets

This will negate the spawning of Scientists, allowing you to breeze through the 'no touching scientists' requirement. It is in the first tier of gadgets.

Freeze-O-Matic - Gadgets

If you fall a little short on the 2km run, this will help you slide a little bit further. It is in the first tier of gadgets.

750m Head Start - Consumables

Does exactly what it says on the box, gives you a 750m head start, thereby making a 2km journey a 1.25km journey.

Revive - Consumables

If you happen to hit a laser or zapper, this handy little consumable will allow you to pick up where you left off, basically giving you free reign to die, slide with Freeze-O-Matic and respawn at whichever point you died.

Combine these four to achieve:

Germaphobe

Fly 2km, without touching any coins, scientists, or tokens.

Germaphobe

James Who

Simply buy two Jetpacks to nab this quick achievement. Make sure one of them is the Traditional Jetpack for the Class Act achievement! The Traditional Jetpack will cost you 10,000 coins and the Bubble gun Jetpack is the cheapest one, and will cost you 7,000 coins.

James Who?

Buy 2 jetpacks.

James Who?

Pretty Woman

Another nice easy one. When you're buying items for the achievement 'Class Act', you'll also unlock this achievement. Just purchase the Top Hat and the Classy Suit to unlock. This works with any matching set, of course, but in the interest of time and GamerScore...

Pretty Woman

Buy a matching set of clothing.

Pretty Woman

Rejected

Token Gift - Gadget

Grab yourself the Token Gift Gadget and jump into a game. Right off the bat, you'll see a token floating in front of you. It will track your position and move accordingly, so keep an eye on it. Simply fly past it without collecting it to nab this achievement. The Token Gift gadget will cost you 5,000 coins.

Rejected

Fly past the token gift without collecting it.

Rejected

Walkies

Flash - Gadgets

In the final tier of Gadgets you'll find Flash, a dog who will collect coins and tokens for you as you play. He is worth 7000 coins, but it will take tens of thousands of coins just to unlock his tier. The achievement related to this - take Flash on a cumulative 10km walk over several games - will be one of the last you take.

To unlock Flash you have to buy at least 8 other gadgets. You can decide which gadgets you buy on your way yourself, but as mentioned before, you need to buy the Token Gift for another achievement and it is handy to buy the Nerd Repellant, Insta-Ball, Freeze-O-Matic, Free Ride and the Coin Magnet to help you gain other achievements. For the remaining gadgets I would advise you just buying the cheapest.

Walkies

Take Flash on a 10km walk.

Walkies

With these achievements down, you'll only have a bunch of gameplay-related achievements to worry about, if you don't already have some of them.

Jetpack Joyride (Windows) - Gameplay Related achievements

Introduction

These last achievements are all related to gameplay specifically, where items are not directly required for completion. This section covers common confusions with gameplay. Think of it more as an achievement-centred FAQ. Here we go!

A Man, My Son

Notice those little notifications coming up every so often that, when completed, allow you to level? Simply complete 15 levels worth of these missions, then choose to cash them in for a badge to start missions over again. Achievement unlocked!

A man, my son

Finish all the missions, and start again.

A man, my son

Alpha Charlie Echo and Romeo Alpha Delta

These two achievements are based on the length of your flight. ACE requires a 2km flight (2,000m) and RAD requires a 5km flight (5,000m). These are, more than likely, two achievements you'll pick up without trying too hard. I, however, fluked RAD and haven't made it past 4,000m since. Using Head Starts, Revives, Freeze-O-Matic and any vehicle you can get your hands on really helps with these two. Good luck!

For Science

Those pesky scientists need to be knocked over for attempting to keep this wondrous jetpack from you! Drop 1,000 of the little buggers to pop this achievement. Again, given some of the missions you'll be required to complete, this should come through natural play.

For science

Knock over 1000 scientists.

For science

Fuzzy Locks

Do you like to die? For this achievement, you need to die 99 times by flying into Zappers. This shouldn't bee too hard. You'll more than likely get it through natural play while grinding coins for gadgets.

Fuzzy Locks

Get fried 99 times.

Fuzzy Locks

Gold Digger

"Collect 20 coins while dead? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE." I hear you scream. Actually, it isn't. See, Barry is made of some sort of rubber, so he bounces quite easily. If you happen to die, any coins you fall through will still be picked up. Cumulatively over many games, you need to grab 20 coins this way. Pretty simple stuff.

Gold Digger

Collect 20 coins while dead.

Gold Digger

Happy Snap

See the little Polaroid after you finish a game? Hit the share button to pop this achievement. You don't even have to share the picture, just go into the menu that allows you to share, and you'll be rewarded with 5G for your trouble.

Happy Snap

Share an Action Shot.

Happy Snap

Not So Green and Veteran

These achievements are tied to mission completion. Once you've successfully completed 10, you'll get Not So Green. At 40, you'll get Veteran. shortly after that, you'll be able to get A Man, My Son by completing all missions and Prestige-ing (really, that's what it feels like).

Not So Green

Complete 10 missions.

Not So Green
Veteran

Complete 40 missions.

Veteran

Spice of Life

Variety is, as they say, the spice of life! Hop a ride in every vehicle in the game to unlock this achievement. The vehicles are:
- Bad-As Hog
- Cash Bird
- Crazy Freaking Teleporter
- Lil' Stomper
- Gravity Suit
- Mr Cuddles

You can also use the Free Ride gadget to speed up the process on this one, if you don't already have it via natural play before having enough coins to unlock the gadget.

Spice of Life

Take a ride in every vehicle in the game.

Spice of Life

Tee Hee Two

Coin collection. Specific numeric coin collection. This can be annoying. But impishly funny when the amount needed is 69. Simply collect 69 coins (rather difficult to nail down, but if you can master the rapid-click to keep Barry stable in the air, it's not too bad) and then fly close to the ground. Avoid all other coins and fly as slowly as possible until you hit a Zapper. Make sure you've removed Freeze-O-Matic or any such Gadgets that make you slide further, as you don't want to slide into any coins. Also, once you've nailed the 69 and the death, cash in your tokens instead of spending them, to avoid getting a dynamite that will blow you into coins.

Tee Hee Two

Collect exactly 69 coins.

Tee Hee Two

There you have it, folks. An easy 200G from an Australian developer who has a history of taking simple concepts and squeezing more fun out of them than anyone else could. I hope you've enjoyed the walkthrough!
