Vs. Yozora

Yozora

Yozora is far and away the single most difficult enemy in the entire franchise. If you've made it to this boss, however, you probably have the skills necessary to win this fight.

There are two specific aspects to this fight that I think take the longest to get to terms with.

Yozora has no pattern

Unlike every other boss in the franchise, Yozora can use any move at any time. In regular play, most bosses have a series of attacks they use for the first half of the fight, after which they activate a Desperation Move. Stronger attacks are then unlocked, followed by another DM or similar attack at the end of their HP bar. These strategies can be learned and, in some cases, manipulated to your advantage.

Yozora does not conform to these general rules. There is nothing stopping him from starting the battle off with his most powerful attacks, or spamming an attack that you can't figure out how to avoid.

Yozora can steal your items

There are two specific attacks that remove items from Sora's possession. One of them is a vacuum style ability that you might not even notice has happened. He removes any number of your equipped items; Potions, Ethers, Elixirs, etc. This move also saps HP, MP, and Focus. More than once I tried to use one of my five Hi-Potions while in MP Charge, only to find that I didn't have any of them anymore.

Secondly, Yozora can steal Sora's Keyblade. This attack is accompanied by a short scene. During this attack, you cannot Attack, Block, or use any Magic. In fact, it immediately puts you into MP Charge, except the bar doesn't decrease.

Basically, your only options here are to use Items and move around. Abilities are still active, so you can Dodge Roll, Glide, Air Slide, etc., but you have no offensive options. This phase lasts for only about 15 seconds, but it can feel quite a bit longer.

Yozora will be attacking this whole time. With Sora's Keyblade, he has access to Sora's Magic, although I personally only ever saw him use it to cast Water. Hopefully, your Dodge Roll game is on point.

When Sora regains his Keyblade, the MP bar will begin to recharge, and you will be able to use Sora's entire repertoire again.

Links are surprisingly helpful

I was skeptical about this technique when I read it, but using Links is more helpful than you might think. While I didn't see them doing all that much damage, I was able to avoid a lot of damage while using them. They also fully restore Sora's HP when used.

Sea Spectacle and King's Flare were the two Links that I used for this fight. In both cases, you really just need to aim with cn_LS and press cn_B. Aside from the healing, I used these to take a small breather.

I did a lot of synthesis grinding before getting here

After trying this on my Standard Difficulty playthrough, I realized that my skills weren't good enough to defeat this guy and write a detailed guide for the fight. Especially if I wanted to get PRO Code Merit points off of him. So, I loaded up my Beginner/PRO Code file and spent about 20 hours grinding for synthesis materials and munny so that I could max out Sora's stats.

Specifically, I created 100 Strength and Defense Boosts, with around 65 Magic Boosts. Combined with Ultima Weapon and some stat-boosting Cuisine, I was able to force my way through not only this fight, but many of the Data Organization fights, with PRO Codes turned ON. It made a significant difference.

You can get more information on what is needed on the "Premium Menu" page, under the PRO Codes heading.

Videos are really helpful!

For the most part, the skills you have built over the last 50 or so hours should be enough to deal with each attack. The difficulty is, as stated earlier, mostly related to the unpredictability of Yozora. If you want more detailed information on how to avoid Yozora's attacks and master this fight, I recommend all of the following videos.

When you do eventually defeat the final boss in Kingdom Hearts 3 Re: Mind, you will get a scene. At the end of it, you receive the Crystal Regalia+ Accessory.

You will also unlock an Achievement.

You will be prompted to save your game. Feel free to overwrite the previous Limitcut Episode save file, as you will be brought back to that content when loading this save. The EZ Code and PRO Code Menus will be unlocked, and you can use them to re-fight the entire Data Organization as many times as you want.

Other than that, you should be done! Congratulations! If you want to continue the Kingdom Hearts journey, the next game is Melody of Memory. Have fun!
