Mega Coin Squad Walkthrough

1. Walkthrough overview

At least the mega coins won't tell you the real coin is in another castle. At least the mega coins won't tell you the real coin is in another castle.

Hello and welcome to the TrueAchievements walkthrough for Mega Coin Squad! This game is a heavily Mario-influenced platformer with the obligatory coins, dastardly 16-bit style enemies to foil your coin collecting, and procedurally generated levels. Don't let the TA ratio fool you though, as this is a very easy completion even with the 30-minute speedrun, albeit a little grindy toward the end.

You'll need to do seven-ish playthroughs of the game, because there are six achievements tied to completing the game with each of the six playable characters. The first playthrough will likely take you 45 minutes to an hour, but as long as you have even a little skill at platformers, the other 5 characters likely won't take you much longer than 30 minutes each. The seventh playthrough will be for grinding purposes and should only take between one to two hours to finish off the final two achievements. So all-in-all, you're only facing around six hours or so for the full 1k, maybe less.

A brief overview:

  • Playthrough 1 - Mike (or character of your choice), dying with 0 coins collected, collecting all diamonds on levels 1-3 of each world, Gone in 30- and 60-seconds, and finishing the game
  • Playthrough 2 - Not Today and Road Runner, using Data (or character of your preference)
  • Playthroughs 3-6 - Just a quick run through the game with each of the four remaining characters, approx. 30mins (or less) per run.
  • Playthrough 7 - Grinding to mop up the 50,000 and 100,000 coins achievements.

Let's go, the Princess... erm, Mega Coin, is waiting for us!
