Metro Redux Walkthrough

13. Metro Last Light Cumulative Achievements

Turn off 40 lights - Whenever you see a light interact with by pressing cn_X to switch it off, you cannot progress this repeatedly on one light so as you progress through the game just keep turning off the lights and you'll get this in no time. On your 40th light you'll unlock:

Edison

Turn off 40 Lights without breaking them.

Use 10 lever switches - These are scattered through the game and if you are the type to search everywhere you will easily knock this out. If you struggle getting this, on the level Revolution at the start you will progress out of the building via some stairs, in front of you will be a fuse board that switches off lights, just reload the checkpoint to keep interacting with this. Doing this will unlock:

Engineer

Use 10 Lever Switches.

Disarm 10 traps - This again will be easy if you search around as you're more likely to come across these, you simply press cn_X to cut them. There are a few levels where you can reload the checkpoint to get this out of the way, these are on Facility, at the end of the level you will come across the trap, cut it and reload. On the Garden level near the beginning is a trap and on the level Nightfall you will get chased to an abandoned building. On the 2nd floor of this are 3 trip wires. Whichever method you choose will eventually net you:

Ever Vigilant

Disarm 10 Traps.

Kill 100 Human enemies - Again this is self explanatory, however on your first play-through if you going for the moral achievement you will want to avoid killing humans, so you can either farm the levels D6 in the campaign or the bonus level Heavy Squad after you've got the moral achievement or just work towards this on your second play-through. Killing your 100th will unlock:

Soldier

Kill 100 Human Enemies.

Unlock 10 Safe boxes - Through the game are 16 locked safe boxes, you can simply use the reload checkpoint method to easily net this. There are a number of areas you can use the reload method but in my experience the best spot is at the start of the Dead City. Run to the first building on the left and grab the key found around the corner. Head upstairs and unlock the safe. (Thanks to LifeExpectancy for pointing this out). After the 10th safe you will unlock:

Master Thief

Open 10 locked safe boxes.

Make 10 Spiders flip belly-up - On a number of levels you will come across the Spider mutants, mainly Torchlight or Spider Lair. If you use your torch against them it makes them flip over. If you are struggling on the level Spider Lair a very short distance into the level you will come across some spider pods and just before you enter the room there is a fuse board, interact with it to switch on the light making 4 or 5 spiders flip over, (thanks to I MaDz I for this information) just reload checkpoint to repeat this. On your 10th one you will unlock:

Tortoise

Make 10 Spiders flip belly-up.

Tortoise

There is also an achievement for killing 10 enemies in a row with throwing knives, I will make mention with the walk-through at the best point to do this.
