7. Midnight Club: Los Angeles South Central Achievements

Your missions are paged to you and appear in the bottom of left corner of your screen. You can check which missions you have available, completed missions and tutorials by pressing the back button to access your GPS. Then press cn_Y to activate your mission log. Use cn_RB/ cn_LB to scroll through different tabs.

I am going to inform you of each mission available to you, the vehicle the opposition drives, difficulty and the winnings. This is pretty much the best order to go through all the missions. Avoid any race that is not a mission until I say so. I will add any info for any vehicle the opposition use as much as I can.

When you race in races with multiple vehicles, the opposition vehicles change based on factors such as your vehicle, difficulty, vehicle Rep. and overall Rep.

Difficulty is in 4 stages. In the game it is Green (Easy), Yellow (Medium), Orange (Hard), Red (Hardest). I am going to be using the same colour system so you do not get confused. In some races, such as wagers, the difficulty is up to you. There are very few missions on the Red (Hardest) setting. The majority of the races are Yellow (Medium) so I am not going to be adding that to every race.

Unless stated, the race is a Yellow (Medium) race.

Your cash winnings vary, based on your Rep. and on missions of multiple races, dependent on how many races you win. The Prize will be the vehicle you win and its cash value when sold from your garage.

The details on the each race will be set out as follows:

Mission number. Mission name

Information about each race.

(Opposition Vehicle; Difficulty; Prize)

I am going to go through this DLC assuming you have completed the story mode in the main game.

Vehicles and upgrades cost $0 as you are a partner of all of the garages in the game.

1. The Mechanic

Karol calls you letting you know of a mechanic in South Central. Find Doc’s garage.

As soon as you get there, you will unlock

Goin' South

Meet the South Central Mechanic.

Buy a Range Rover Sport and add all of the performance upgrades. You can also add visuals. Exit the garage.

2. Gas Guzzlers

Doc called wanting to see your driving skills with a SUV. Win 6 races in an SUV. We will do this concurrently with other missions.

3. The Shaw

Jesus (yes, Jesus!) calls to challenge you to a best of 3 races in Crenshaw. This counts as 2/6 for #2.

(Range Rover Supercharged)

4. Keeping It Low

Doc challenges you to win 6 races in a Lowrider. We will do this later. Jump back in the garage and leave to get the next mission.

5. South Central Delivery

Doc needs you to deliver 5 vehicles from his South Central Auto Shop.

After completing this, exit the menu and return to the cruise. You will be outside Doc’s garage. Drive over to the delivery vehicle and complete 5 more on any difficulty. I chose easy and still won $9,000 - $10,000. After you have completed enough, you will unlock:

Complete 10 deliveries in South Central.

6. South Central Hangout

Doc calls you to tell you about some locals that race out of Kenneth Hahn State Park. Win the series race in South Central. 3 wins count towards #2 – 5/6.

7. South Central Tournament

Oro tells you about the tournament. Win it. Completion of this unlocks the achievement below.

One win will count for #2 – 6/6. Continue to use the Range Rover until you have won 10 races. If you won all of the 3 races, you will be on 8/10 for an achievement.

(Range Rover Supercharged)

9. Making Money

Win $5,000 in wagers from the guys at the Abandoned Factory. You can do this on 1 race on medium or in 2 races on easy. I recommend doing 2 on easy so you can win your 10th race in a SUV. Enjoy the following 2 achievements:

Go to your garage and buy a Lowrider. My favourite car is the Bel Air but it is too slow. The fastest is the Malibu. We will use this. As always, maximise the performance by installing all of the available upgrades. You can also make it look pretty, as money is no object! Now we can work on #4 and ‘Low Ballin’’.

10. Pink Stuff

Race Pinky for her car. #4 – 1/6

(GTO; Pinky’s Pontiac GTO)

11. Joy Ridin’

Raymond calls challenging you to win some races in South Central. Win 6 races.

12. Slauson Bounce

This is not a mission but the quickest way to win races in South Central and win races in a Lowrider.

  • Press cn_start to bring up the Pause menu
  • Press cn_RB to move to the Modes menu
  • Press cn_A to select the Arcade menu
  • Press cn_A to bring up the list of tracks
  • Scroll down to the track named Slauson Bounce and press cn_A
  • Set the number of opponents to 1
  • Set the difficulty to Easy
  • Set the traffic level to None
  • Press cn_A to start the race
  • At the end of the race, select Race Again

Repeat until you have won 6/6 for #4. Additionally, #10 should be 5/6. Then continue with the Malibu.

13. House Calls

Doc wants a best of 3 races. #11 should be 6/6. Continue with the Malibu.

14. The Southside

Raymond challenges over the best of 3 races.

(CLK83; Red)

Use nitrous on the straights when you are near your top speed. When he tries to overtake, attempt to block him and he will use his brakes to avoid you. If you struggle to beat him, swap your vehicle for a faster vehicle. The Ninja or any Exotic will make this very easy but you need to win a total of 10 races with a Lowrider. The career is done.

15. South Central Time Trial

Post the best time in the 1964 Impala.

There seems to be a problem unlocking the second and third time trial. I found that the following works to unlock the next time trial:

  • Win Welcome to Hollywood in arcade mode. See above if needed
  • Win a random side race. Find anyone and beat them.

16. The Hangout

Win 3 wagers from the Abandoned Factory.

  • Win Welcome to Hollywood in arcade mode. See above if needed
  • Win a random side race. Find anyone and beat them.

17. Let’s Do This

Beat the time trial again.

  • Win Welcome to Hollywood in arcade mode. See above if needed
  • Win a random side race. Find anyone and beat them.

18. How We Do It

19. South Central "Ballerz" Tournament

This is not needed for any achievement and can be skipped if wished. This is the final race and will award you with 100% Completion. If you win this on Hard, you have a new vehicle.

(Orange; Range Rover Sport)

Goal Attacks

Now on to the Goal Attacks. You can complete all of the races even if you not have beaten the story. However, I recommend playing the story first so you get some practice with each track. Each Goal Attack has four criteria elements:

  1. Win the race
  2. Finish the race with less than 25% damage
  3. Beat the time limit
  4. Achieve all goals in the same race

There are a total of 26 races.

To access this mode, follow these steps:

  • Press cn_start
  • Press cn_RB
  • Scroll down to the second option, Goal Attack and press cn_A

The races are split in to 3 sub-menus: Ordered Race, Circuit Race and Landmark Race.

The best vehicle to use is a fully tuned Ninja. Use the weight transfer to help when turning corners. It can be tricky to master this vehicle but once you do, this should be a breeze. With the Ordered and Circuit races, you should need no help. If you have beaten the game, they will be a stroll in the park 99% of the time.

Ordered Races

Baldwin Crenshaw Run
Campus Orientation
Crenshaw and Back
Crenshaw and Hollywood
Out of the River
Pacific BLVD. Start
SC Touring Time
Slauson Bounce
South Central Exit
South Central Tour
Southeast Run

West Adams Match

Circuit Races

Figueroa and Vermont
Huntington Drifts

Landmark Races

I am unable to make a map as there seems to be no image for the DLC map online. I tried to take a photo but it is too confusing and not clear enough. I will do my best to explain it. They are not that hard and you have quite a bit of time. If you zoom in on your in game map, you can see the street names (press cn_start to activate the map mode).

DaChiefOfOwnage has been kind enough to contribute some videos, so kudos to him.

Downtown to Randy's

  • From your starting point, head straight until you can turn left on to the 110 Freeway. Follow the freeway around to the 405 Freeway.
  • When you approach the end, take the left road off the freeway and then turn right on to La Clenega Ave.'s bridge.

Hills to Auditorium

  • Immediately turn left. Follow this road and turn left at the corner of Franklin Ave. and Ventura Blvd.
  • You are now on Wilcox Ave. Keep going straight and turn right at the T junction, on to Pico Blvd.

Laurel Canyon to Florence

  • Head straight into the Hills. When you exit the Hills, take the right exit from Hollywood Blvd. on to N. La Brea Ave.
  • Keep going straight, through the warehouses. Turn right off Vermont Ave. and to Rodeo Rd. Turn left at the end and continue on, taking a slight right off Florence Ave.

Ocean to Stadium

  • You start on Jennie St. Head straight through the lane and on to 10 Freeway. Go past the the spaghetti junction and take the first exit on the right.
  • Head towards Centinela Ave. Then turn on to Rodeo Rd. Next, turn right followed by the second left on to Slauson Ave.
  • Turn right when you can no longer go straight and follow Century Blvd. to the end.

Pico to Crenshaw

  • Head straight and then turn left at the end of Pico Blvd. Follow the road and turn left on to Florence Ave. when you have the chance.
  • Take a slight left on to Slauson Ave. followed by a slight right and you are done.

Watts Face Off

  • Head straight for a long time, until you reach the corner of Olympic Blvd. and S. Figueroa St. Turn right here. This is almost vertical with the end target.
  • Keep going straight. There is a lane at the end of S. Figueroa St. which you need to take. Turn right on to Alameda St. and you will be done.

There we go. If you have not got the 5,000 miles, 50 miles of wheelies or 50 miles of two-wheeling, it is time to grind that at. Check out page 7 for details on them.
Congratulations on the completion.

Finish all South Central Goal Attacks.
