The Dread Ring
Disclaimer: There are no achievements related to this campaign, however it is still valuable to do for the boons, Item Level, and refinement, which will help you in other areas of the game.
The Dread Ring is a straightforward and overall simple campaign to complete. The campaign includes a single area with a few daily quests, including demonic heroics and an instanced quest. After a single introduction quest that takes you through some fighting and story, you'll be able to regularly access the area.
This campaign has three different currencies: Thayan Scroll, Thayan Cipher, and Vanguard Scrip. The currencies that will limit your progress in this campaign are Thayan Scroll and Thayan Cipher. Most quests will give you Vanguard Scrips, while only the Instanced daily quest given by Sgt. Knox and the 'Complete 3 Demonic Heroic Encounters' from the Demon Hunter will give you the Scrolls and Ciphers. The weekly, also given by Sgt. Knox, involves killing three red wizards, and will give you a substantial boost to all three currencies.
For the first seven notches up the campaign progress bar, via 'Study Thayan Writings', you need 1 Thayan Cipher and 5 Vanguard Scrips. Afterwards, the remaining 24 will require 2 gold, 1 Thayan Cipher, 5 Vanguard Scrips, and 10 Thayan Scrolls. Keep a close track of how many of each currency you have and how many vanguard scripts you need to accompany them, so you don't waste time doing additional dailies you don't need.
Daily Routine - The Dread Ring
- Begin by collecting the whatever lair quest is available from Sgt. Knox for that day, which may be Dread Forge, Dread Spire, or Phantasmal Fortress. Collect the Demon Hunting quest near Sgt. Knox. Pick up a Gauntlet from the anvil as well, which you can get once a day and opens an additional chest at the end of the instanced quest.
- If you need more Vanguard Scrips than the above two quests will give you in order to progress based on how many scrolls and ciphers you have, collect additional daily quests.
- If you haven't done the weekly, make sure you collect 'The Red Wizard' from Sgt. Knox.
- Go out to complete all your quests. For the Demonic Heroics, there are three that spawn. Usually, people ignore the one in the northwest. You can choose to group up for the instanced quest with others or run it yourself.
- Complete the campaign task 'Study Thayan Writings' or 'Decipher Thayan Writings' and whatever boon tasks are available.
Daily Currency Totals
- 2 Thayan Cipher (From Completion of Demon Hunting quest and daily Lair quest from Sgt. Knox)
- 10 Thayan Scroll (From Completion of Demon Hunting Quest and daily Lair quest from Sgt. Knox)
- 15 Vanguard Scrip (6 from Completion of Demon Hunting Quest and daily Lair quest from Sgt. Knox, 9 from other three daily quests.)
- 3 Vangard Scrip (Additional reward on Monday and Friday from Lair Quest from Sgt. Knox)
Weekly Currency Totals
- 30 Thayan Scroll (From Completion of 'The Red Wizards')
Sharandar
Disclaimer: There are no achievements related to this campaign, however it is still valuable to do for the boons, Item Level, and refinement, which will help you in other areas of the game.
Sharandar is similar to Dread Ring, in that the campaign itself is relatively easy to complete, does not involve completion, and each quest gives refinement items as rewards as well as the currencies. This is also a campaign where, after a certain period of time, what you have to do each day for its completion scales down depending on how much you've done, so you'll need to always keep track of where you are and which parts you still need to do. Sharandar is one large area broken up into three smaller sections. One section is unlocked after the introduction quest, and the other two are unlocked via campaign progression.
The relevant currencies are as follows: Feywild Spark, Gold Crescent, Vibrant Seedling, Abjuring Charm, and Iliyanbruen Blades. The currency that will overall limit your progress within the campaign are Feywild Sparks. The other currencies you'll be able to collect enough of before you receive enough Feywild Sparks. Each section of the area has its own currency involved, with the first area unlocked from the start has quests that give Vibrant Seedlings, the Feywild area unlocked second has Abjuring Charms, and the Malabog area unlocked third has Iliyanbruen Blades. Each area has three normal quests, and one instanced quest. The instanced quest in each area is optional, and only gives Gold Crescents and a refinement item. If you do the instanced quest, make sure you collect a free key from the vendor near the door before going inside.
Your first goal should be going all the way up the middle tree until Malabog is unlocked. As you do, use the crescents you collect for the first two boons. Overall for the boons, you'll need 18 Acorns, 18 Charms, and 36 Blades for the final two. So once you've collected 18 of the first two, you can just do the three quests in the Malabog section for the Blades and Sparks.
Daily Routine - Sharandar
- Begin by picking up the quest 'Battle for Sharandar' from Merrisara Winterwhite near the fountain in the entrance area of Sharandar. This quest requires you collect three feydark crystals, which randomly drop from enemies in Sharandar. This is the daily quest for Sparks.
- (If you still need Vibrant Acorns or don't have access to other areas yet) Enter the Blighted Grove. Do the three quests available within that area to collect Acorns and Crescents.
- (If you still need Adjuring Charms) Enter the Dark Fey Enclave. Do the three quests available within that area to collect Charms and Crescents.
- (If you have access) Enter the Realm of Malabog. Do the three quests available within that area to collect Blades and Crescents. You will also get your Feydark Crystals here if this is the only area you need to do in the day and will complete Battle for Sharandar.
- WEEKLY - Collect 'The Arcane Reservoir' from Merrisara Winterwhite near the fountain and enter the instance. This quest just requires you fight through the area to the end and defeat a boss. At the end, you'll collect a large amount of Feywild Sparks and Astral Diamonds.
Daily Currency Totals
- 15 Feywild Spark (From Completion of 'Battle for Sharandar')
- 10 Gold Crescent (From Completion of 'Battle for Sharandar'. An additional 3 for each area you complete each day.)
- 3 Vibrant Seedlings (If doing Blighted Grove Quests)
- 3 Adjuring Charms (If doing Dark Fey Enclave Quests)
- 3 Iliyanbruen Blades (If doing Realm of Malabog Quests)
Weekly Currency Totals
- 100 Feywild Spark (From Completion of 'The Arcane Reservoir')
Icewind Dale
Disclaimer: There are no achievements related to this campaign, however it is still valuable to do for the boons and Item Level which will help you in other areas of the game. Also, while the Icewind Dale campaign is listed in the travel menu in the same areas as the Storm King's Thunder campaign, this campaign is separate.
The Icewind Dale campaign is made up of three areas, with Caer-Konig being the main hub branching off into Icewind Pass and, when unlocked, Dwarven Valley. Because of mod updates, this campaign is only really valuable for the boons. Icewind Dale was is setup as both a PVE and PVP zone, with players choosing a faction to support and battling other players in designated areas. To enter either area, you must accept a 'contract' from either the Arcane Brotherhood or the Ten-Towns group. The only difference in choice, besides story, is that you can not group up with someone from the other 'team', so if you plan on running your dailies with someone else, make sure you're on the same side. You can switch at any time by talking to the representative and 'breaking' your contract. The PVP is optional and can be avoided by not going past the red barriers on the map. The entire campaign can be done without any PVP.
Completion of Icewind Dale is similar to both Sharandar and Dread Ring. The two important dailies involves both a Demonic Heroic quest, where you complete three Demonic Heroics of your choice, and one where you mine 300 raw black ice. The mining daily does require you complete a heroic, however the Demonic Heroics count, and you'll be doing them anyway. You pick up the Demonic Heroic quest from one individual, and the other daily comes from whatever contact you choose to work with, whether it be the Arcane Brotherhood or the Ten-Towns group. There are additional quests you can do each day in both areas similar to Sharandar, but you only need to do those until you have enough of the currency you need. You must advance up the middle tree one level till you can unlock the zone Dwarven Valley, then you can focus on only advancing the boons. The middle tree in the Icewind Dale campaign is largely irrelevant now that the game has progressed into newer mods with better equipment. The weekly, 'Biggrin's Tomb' becomes available at a certain point from the same person you grab your daily from, either the Arcane Brotherhood or Ten-Towns leader.
After a long intro quest that takes you through Caer-Konig and Icewind pass to learn about mining Black Ice, you'll be able to start doing your dailies.
Daily Routine - Icewind Dale
- Begin by choosing a faction from Anara the Cerulean or Bowen Brant and taking the daily 'Needless Distractions' for AB or 'Safe Keeping' for TT. Grab the Demon Hunting quest from the Demon Hunter nearby as well.
- If you need additional Auril's Tear or Dwarf Gold, take the three appropriate quests for either one.
- Icewind Pass is the most populated area for Demon Heroics, so head there. Participate in either three demonic heroics or fewer if enough people show up for a bonus heroic after one. While you run around, look around for mining locations and grab them. Each jewel that pops off is worth 50 Black Ice.
- If you need Auril's Tear, complete the three quests you grabbed in Caer-Konig and complete them in Icewind Pass.
- If you need Dwarf Gold, complete the three quests you grabbed in Caer-Konig and complete them in Dwarven Valley.
- WEEKLY - Complete 'Biggrin's Tomb' located in Icewind Pass that you've gotten in Caer-Konig from your faction contact.
The currency that will limit your progress in the campaign is Konig Coins and Caer-Konig Reputation. You can get 20 reputation each day and need 350 to unlock the final boon. Overall you'll need 375 Konig Coins for all the boons, 28 Auril's Tear, and 40 Dwarf Gold, so you'll need 10 days of doing Icewind Pass dailies and 14 days of doing Dwarven Valley dailies. You should only focus on the boons in this campaign, the rest is optional.
Daily Currency Totals
- 20 Konig Coin (From Completion of 'Needless Distractions' or 'Safe Keeping' depending on Faction contact, as well as completing the Demon Hunting quest)
- 20 Caer-Konig Reputation (From Completion of 'Needless Distractions' or 'Safe Keeping' depending on Faction contact, as well as completing the Demon Hunting quest)
- 3 Auril's Tear (If doing Icewind Pass Quests)
- 3 Dwarf Gold (If doing Dwarven Valley Quests)
Weekly Currency Totals
- 50 Konig Coin (From Completion of 'Biggrin's Tomb')
