3. Story walkthrough

Upon starting the game, you will need to choose between Casual and Expert difficulty. There is an Achievement for completing the game on Expert, so to save yourself some time, I'd recommend playing on Expert. The only real differences are that you get no on screen notifications and your hint gauge fills far slower. Neither of which will be a problem with this guide so trust in me and we'll get through this easy.

NOTE: Do NOT press cn_up or you will use the hint gauge! There is an Achievement for never using it through the game so keep your fingers off that button!

You can hold cn_B to skip cutscenes if you like, you won't void any Achievements.

Start by picking up the Plank leaning against the gate, then use it on the Lantern hanging above to receive it. Zoom in on the bush in the bottom left corner of the screen and interact with the bush a few times to reveal and pick up a Scarf. Open your inventory by holding either cn_LT or cn_RT and hover over the Lantern. You'll notice a green dot next to it which signifies that it can be combined with another object. While hovering over the Lantern, press cn_Y to open the combination menu. On this menu, interact with the small circular dial at the bottom section of the Lantern to turn it off, then highlight the glass and use the Scarf on it to open the Lantern. Pick up the Gate Key and Door Token 1/3. Use the Gate Key on the gate and interact with it to open it and move on.

You'll be hit in the face with a newspaper so just interact with it to move it and receive a jumpscare from me. Click on Collectible #1/33 located on the tree trunk to the left to unlock...

Collector

There will be one Handprint/Footprint on every screen in the game, so keep track of which screens you've already found them in!

Zoom in on the front door of the house and interact with the Door Knocker to break it off. Head to the Back Yard on the right.

Back Yard

Click on Collectible #2/33 located on the bag of leaves next to the shed, then zoom in on the bench on the right. Use the Door Knocker on the vise and interact with it to loosen it, then pick up the Garden Shears. Interact with the wallet next to the vise and take Door Token 2/3 from it before closing this screen. Hold cn_B to back up to the Front Yard.

Front Yard

Zoom in on the hedge/bushes along the right side of the screen and use the Garden Shears on them to find a Broken Umbrella. Go into the Broken Umbrella's combination menu and interact with it to break off the Umbrella Hilt. Return to the Back Yard.

Back Yard

Zoom in on the bench on the right and use the Umbrella Hilt on the vise. Interact with the door knocker to turn the Umbrella Hilt into a Screwdriver, then interact with the Door Knocker again to release it.

Zoom in on the shed door and use the Screwdriver on the lock to remove it and open the door. Walk up to the shed for your first Hidden Object Scene or HOS for short. Please note that any objects with GREEN writing are available to collect right away, while any objects with BLUE writing must be combined by clicking the "A" item first and using it on the "B" item. These scenes, unlike the other games in the series, have always been the same so use the pictures I supply with them to know what to collect and unlock...

You may have to try a new game or a future HOS in order to beat one in under a minute, but the HOS's don't change so you'll be able to get the item locations memorized quickly.

After completing the HOS, you'll receive a Crowbar. Zoom in on the bush under the house's window and interact with it a few times to move the bushes out of the way revealing a board with a cat face on it. Use the Crowbar on this board to pry off the nails and then interact with it to pull it off. Pick up the MAP, and Door Key.

With the Map in hand, you can press cn_right to open it and see the names of all the areas you've visited as well as fast travel to them as long as they are currently available, just be careful NOT to press cn_up on accident! Return to the Front Yard.

Front Yard

When you arrive, the storm will pick up and blow a tarp off the junk pile under the tree, walk up to it for your 2nd HOS.

Please note that any objects drawn in WHITE are available to collect right away, while any objects drawn in RED must be combined by clicking the "A" item first and using it on the "B" item etc. For the Light Bulb specifically, you must watch the 8 Ball for a moment and it will become the Light Bulb, but it will turn back over time, so be patient.

Once you've completed the HOS, you'll receive Door Token 3/3.

Walk up to the front door and use the Door Tokens on the frame to add them to it and begin your first Mini-Game. The goal is to move the tokens along their paths to the end, and the easiest way is to focus on one token at a time, even though they all move, you can't ruin anything. Once all three tokens are in place, use the Door Key in the keyhole and enter the house. Below is a video for reference to the puzzle, and if you completed it within one minute, you'll unlock...

Barbara's House

Click on Collectible #3/33 which is a bloody handprint located next to the flowers in the center of the screen. Zoom in on the feet to find Barbara then take the Pocket Watch from her pocket and the Pendant from her necklace.

Zoom in on the phone located above where Collectible #3/33 was and interact with it to call the police, then collect the Kitten Figurine next to the phone.

Interact with the flower vase in the middle of the room to get the Vase with Water, then zoom in on the fireplace and use the Vase with Water to put it out. Grab the nearby Fire Poker and poke the ashes with it to find another Kitten Figurine. Open the first Kitten Figurine's combination menu and use the second Kitten Figurine on it to get the Winding Crowns, then back out of the mini-window.

Open the Pocket Watch's combination menu and use the Winding Crowns on it. Interact with the Winding Crowns in the following order: Top Left, Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Top Right. This will open it and give you the Box Code (Doing the Winding Crowns in the wrong order will cause you to restart from the first).

Zoom in on the grey box sitting in the chair on the right. Use the Box Code on it to get the solution to the puzzle, which is 21354. With the box open, zoom in on it and take the Dictaphone, Press Accreditation, and the Album, the last of which will start your next Mini-Game. The goal is to find 3 of the object on the left, in this case treble clefs, somewhere in the picture on the right. After finding them all, you will have to do the same thing two more times but with 3 of something else each time. Refer to my video below for reference if needed.

Once complete, pull the red tab in the back of the book and take the Pendant Piece.

Open the Pendant's combination menu and use the Pendant Piece on it to combine them. Zoom back in on the fireplace and use the Pendant on the metal square in the back. Push the bricks under the metal square in the order: middle, left, right to open the square and get the Diary.

At this point, you will be attacked by a masked man and must fight him. You will get two options to either press cn_LB to punch with your left fist, or cn_RB to punch with your right fist. This is considered to be a Mini-Game, so you must fight in the correct order to win. The correct order is (L = cn_LB, R = cn_RB: L, R, R, L, A| L, L, R, L, R, A| L, R, L, R, R, L, A

After completing the Mini-Game you will be knocked out and woken up by the police. They will use a lie detector on you and ask you five questions, so you must choose the correct answers to move on. The answers are:

  • Barbara asked me for help. You can check that if you look at the call log.
  • At home, I slept in my own bed.
  • We used to date.
  • She knew she was in danger. And somebody was in here when I came in, but I didn't see him well.
  • In a pool of blood next to her you had a footprint. You may notice that his footprint is significantly bigger than mine. After all, who knocked me unconscious if Barbara is dead?

Completing the Lie Detector will move you to your new destination and unlock..

Barbara's Desk

Talk to the man on the right, then use the Press Accreditation on him to get the Desk Key. Click on Collectible #4/33 which is a footprint on the back of the chair.

Zoom in on the drawer to the right of the chain and use the Desk Key on the keyhole. Interact with the letters to move them around and pick up the Play Button and the Snap-off Blade.

Zoom in on the trash bin in the room and take the Blunt Pencil and the Pieces of Paper.

Zoom in on the papers to the right of the fan and move them aside to get the Utility Knife, then use the Blunt Pencil on the pencil sharpener at the top of the same screen to get the Sharpened Pencil.

Open the Utility Knife's combination menu and use the Snap-off Blade on it to fix it.

Zoom in on the typewriter and interact with the paper to straighten it, then use the Utility Knife to get some Paper.

Open the Paper's combination menu and use the Sharpened Pencil on it, then pick it up to get the Cabinet Code.

Walk up to the cabinet on the far right and use the Cabinet Code to start another Puzzle. To solve this one, you'll have to make equations that equal the numbers on the Cabinet Code by picking up the numbers and putting them in the right slots. The answers from top to bottom are:

  • 8 + 5 = 13
  • 9 - 1 = 8
  • 7 x 3 = 21
  • 6 ÷ 2 = 3

Once the cabinet is open, pick up the Wooden Box, and the Duct Tape. By this point you should have completed five puzzles without skipping any which will unlock...

High Five

Complete 5 Minigames without skipping them.

Open the Pieces of Paper's combination menu and you'll start your next puzzle. You'll need to pick up each piece and rotate them by pressing cn_X until they fit into their slots drawn onto the background. Once you put them all together, use the Duct Tape on them and interact with them to get a postcard to your next destination.

Joe's Cafe

Click on Collectible #5/33 which is a footprint on the ground in front of the coat rack, then talk to the man in the brown coat standing next to the coat rack.

Walk up to the blue neon "Bar" sign in the middle of the screen for a HOS. You will need to find 12 Bottle Openers.

#12 is located inside the cabinet, so open it first to find it.

Once complete, you'll receive the Bottle Opener Magnet, and by now you should have solved three HOS' without any hints and will also unlock...

Clueless

Finish 3 Hidden Object Puzzles without a Hint.

Zoom in on the Jukebox on the left side of the screen and interact with the cup on the left to knock it over and get Slot Coin 1/3, then back out.

Head into the Gambling Room on the right.

Click on Collectible #6/33, which is a footprint near the base of the pool table.

Take the Pool Cue which is leaning up against the pool table, and the Broken Ladder which is to the left of the pool table.

Zoom in on the dart board on the right and take the green Dart.

Zoom in on the slot machine on the left and take the green Rag, Suitcase Key 1/3, and the Screws before backing out.

Zoom in on the light hanging above the pool table and use the Rag to take the Fluorescent Tube.

Return to Joe's Café.

Joe's Cafe

Zoom in on the coat hanging from the coat rack and interact with the coats to move them aside. Use the Dart to get Slot Coin 2/3.

Go upstairs on the left.

Hallway

Interact with the light switch next to the door on the far left to have it short out the light.

Open the Broken Ladder's combination menu and zoom in on it. Use the Screws on it, then click on each of the Screws to lock each step in place. Click on the Ladder to receive it.

Place the Ladder under the shorted out light, and use the Fluorescent Tube on the light to replace it.

Click on Collectible #7/33, which is a barely visible handprint just above the light switch.

Between rooms 12 and 13 is a shelf with a clock on it, above the shelf, zoom in on the wallpaper. Interact with the wallpaper to tear it off, and reveal a tile puzzle. Move the tiles from 1-6 in accordance with the picture below to solve the puzzle and get both Suitcase Key 2/3 and Slot Token 3/3.

Zoom in on the window at the end of the hall. Use the Pool Cue to get the Slot Reel from above the window, then use the Rag on the window to get a Glass Shard.

Head back to Joe's Café.

Joe's Cafe

Zoom in on the coat rack and use the Glass Shard to cut the red String from the pole.

Open the Bottle Opener Magnet's combination menu and use the String on it to get the Magnet on a String.

Zoom in on the Jukebox and use the Magnet on a String with the broken glass at the top to get the Billiard Chip.

Return to the Gambling Room.

Gambling Room

Zoom in on the pool table and use the Billiard Chip on the slot, then push the red button to make a mess which is actually a HOS. Walk up to it.

Solving the HOS will get you the Slot Handle.

Zoom in on the slot machine. Use the Slot Handle on the left side of the machine, then use the Slot Reel in the missing spot next to the other reels.

With that complete, drop a Slot Coin into the slot next to the reels and pull the handle. You will fail and must repeat this two more times to use all of your Slot Coins, and receive the Money.

Head back to Joe's Café.

Zoom in on the man next to the stairs and give him the Money to get the Room Key.

Return to the Hallway.

Hallway

Zoom in on Room 13 and use the Door Key to get ambushed and begin another fight. Just like last time, press cn_LB to punch with the left fist, cn_RB to punch with the right fist, and cn_A to use the Attack command in the center. The correct fight combinations are as follows:

  • R, A, L
  • A, L, R
  • L, A, R

After winning the fight, you will unlock...

Head back to Joe's Café.

Joe's Cafe

Walk up to the man sitting next to the stairs and interact with him. Interact with the piece of paper in his chest pocket, and then again to put the paper away. Next, interact with the watch on his right arm (your left). Lastly, interact with the bloody handprint on his jacket and you will automatically move to the next destination.

Mortimer's Apartment

Zoom in on the door above the mailbox and suitcase and ring the doorbell. After speaking with Mortimer's mother, click on Collectible #8/33, which is a footprint on the window beneath Mortimer's mother.

Zoom in on the alleyway next to the collectible you just found and take the Hoe.

Zoom in on the house to the left of Mortimer's and use the Hoe to get Suitcase Key 3/3 from the dream catcher.

Zoom in on the Suitcase sitting on the steps to Mortimer's house and use the Suitcase Keys on it. Interact with all three keys to open it and get a Knife and an Empty Bottle.

Zoom back in on the alleyway next to Mortimer's house and use the Knife on the Hose, then pick it up.

Zoom in on the Motorcycle on the left side of the screen, and interact with the oil cap to take it off. Use the Hose on the oil tank, then use the Empty Bottle on the end of the Hose to siphon some Oil.

Zoom in on the gate under Mortimer's Steps (by the spinning blue pinwheel) and use the Oil on the pin to remove it. Walk up to the gate for a HOS.

Using the picture below, start by taking the Pliers at 1. Use the Pliers to loosen and take the Drill Bit from 2. Take the Plastic Bag from 3. Uncover and take the Magnet from 4. Zoom in on the Lantern at 5 and press the lights in the order they light up, then take the Electrical Tape and Glue from inside. Use the Magnet on the grate at 6 and get the Handle. Use the Glue and the Handle on the Knife at 7. Use the Knife to cut open the bag at 8 and get the Drill Battery. Use the Electrical Tape to fix the wire at 9. Use the Drill Battery on the Charger at 10 and wait until you see three green lights. Zoom in on the Drill at 11 and use the Drill Bit on the mouth piece and use the Drill Battery on the bottom. Use the Drill on the grate at 6 and then use the Plastic Bag on the Stinky Fish.

Use the Stinky Fish on Mortimer's Mother to gain access to his house.

Mortimer's Room

Click on Collectible #9/33, which is a footprint right next to the window on the left.

Zoom in on the desk in the center of the room and take the Tweezers and Camera.

Zoom in on the couch/sofa and interact with the pillows to move them aside. Interact with the cushion to lift it, then interact with the shirt to move it aside. Pick up the Box Ring, then zoom in on the hole in the bottom right and use the Tweezers to get Closet Key 1/2.

Zoom in on the line of photos hanging above and to the right of the desk and interact with the third one to get the Camera Layout.

Zoom in on the cluster of shelves above and to the left of the desk and take the Locked Box on the top shelf. Open the Locked Box's combination menu and use the Box Ring on it to get a puzzle. The goal is to rotate all three rings to make the picture of a cat, I personally find it easiest to align the middle ring first, then the outer ring, and the inner ring last. Use the video below for reference.

Once the puzzle is solved, open the box and take the Camera Film and Safe Combination.

Walk up to the safe on the floor between the desk and wardrobe, and use the Safe Combination on it to start another puzzle. The Safe Combination shows the solution, but just in case it's confusing for anyone, here is a simplified solution:

  • Hold cn_LSr until you land on 2, then let go to enter "R2"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 7, then let go to enter "L7"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 0, then let go to enter "L0"
  • Hold cn_LSr until you land on 4, then let go to enter "R4"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 9, then let go to enter "L9"

Interact with the handle to open the safe, then interact with the coins on the right to move them aside and take Closet Key 2/2 from behind them.

Zoom in on the Wardrobe and use the Closet Keys on it. You'll see a scene saying you'd better hurry up, but there is no time limit so don't stress out.

Zoom in on the now open wardrobe and interact with the hat and scarf to move them aside. Take the Camera and you'll find another puzzle. The goal of this puzzle is to use the Knight Chess Piece to light up all the grey squares. The piece works like a Knight as you can only move a set distance around the board. Labeling the grey squares 1-7 click on them in the order shown in the picture below.

Solving the puzzle will zoom you out of the wardrobe and turn the wardrobe into a HOS.

In the picture above, #1 requires the Light Bulb (1A) inside the purse, then put the bulb inside the lamp (1B, you'll have to get #10 out of there first) to light up the Camera (1C). #5 is inside the envelope (5A), after interacting with it, it will move to the shirt (5B). #6 is underneath the container (6*) just move it to get it. #10 is inside the lamp, just click on it to loosen it, and click it again to get it. Lastly, #12 is inside the purse on the right.

After solving the HOS, you'll receive yet another Camera.

Zoom in on the cluster of shelves above and to the left of the desk and use the Camera Layout to see the solution. You'll have to place all the Cameras you've been collecting on their proper shelves in order to open the hidden shelf in the center. For reference, use the picture below.

Once complete, take Tape 1/2 and the Box Code.

Open the Wooden Box's combination menu and interact with the paper on top of it a few times to get rid of it, then zoom in and use the Box Code on it to get the solution. After entering the solution, interact with the box to open it and get Tape 2/2.

Open the Dictaphone's combination menu and use the Play Button on the bottom area, then interact with the main piece to open it. Use the Tapes inside it and interact with it one last time for a cutscene.

Prison Cell

You will wake up in a prison cell. Talk to the man and take the Casino Matches from him. Click on Collectible #10/33, which is a handprint under the sink.

Take the Towel hanging off your bed, then zoom in on the sink and take the Bedpan. While still zoomed in on the sink, use the Towel on the broken mirror to get a Glass Shard.

Zoom in on the Pillow next to your bed and take it. Open the Pillow's combination menu and use the Glass Shard on it to open it, then take the Pillow Hay out of it. While still zoomed in where the pillow was (next to your bed), interact with the mattress to move it aside, then use the Bedpan next to the bed. Use the Pillow Hay on the Bedpan, then use the Casino Matches on the Pillow Hay to light a fire (This will also turn the Casino Matches into the Empty Matchbook). Interact with the flame to move it under the bed which will melt the gunk and get the Spoon.

Zoom in on the sink and use the Spoon on the wall to the right to get a Spoon Screwdriver. Zoom in on the metal bar on the wall between your bed and the sink, then use the Spoon Screwdriver to get the Handle.

Zoom in on the tile on the floor and use the Handle to bust it open for a cutscene.

Take the Pencil and Paper from the Prisoner once you finish talking and use it on his back to start a puzzle. Faria will say something which references one of the pictures on his back and you must click on that item. This is always the same so click on the items n this order:

  • Apollo = Star at the top of his back
  • Spring = Flower on the right side of his back
  • Magic Horse = Unicorn on the lower left of his back
  • Poker = Card on the upper left of his back
  • Love = Hearts on the bottom of his back
  • Hand = Hand on the right side of his back
  • Second = The 2 at the top of his back
  • Luck = Four-Leaf Clover on the center of his back
  • Craps Gambler = Dice at the top of his back

Completing the puzzle with get you the Map Directions. Press and hold cn_A on the hole to move on.

Underground

Click on Collectible #11/33, which is a footprint on a rock to the right of Faria the prisoner, it's somewhat hard to see.

Zoom in on the box next to Faria and take the Valve. Back up and zoom in on the pipe to the left of where the steam is coming from. Use the Valve on the pipe, then interact with it to turn off the steam.

Pick up the Bone on the ground.

Zoom in on the purple glowing rock just right of the lit candle. Use the Bone on the rocks to move them, then pick up the Torch, Chest Piece, and Rag.

Zoom in on the box next to Faria and use the Chest Piece on it. Take the Ethanol from inside.

Open the Torch's combination menu and use the Rag on it, then use the Ethanol on the Rag. Use the Torch on the lit candle to get a Burning Torch.

Use the Burning Torch on the hole in the center of the room to move up to it. Use the Map Directions on the Sewer Map to start a puzzle. You will need to move to the exit in accordance with the directions you received earlier. The solution is as follows:

  • Move Up 5 times.
  • Move Right 5 times.
  • Move Down 1 time.
  • Move Left 1 time.
  • Move Down 2 times.
  • Move Right 5 times.
  • Move Up 2 times.
  • Move Right 4 times.
  • Move Up 2 times.

When you arrive at street level, you will part ways with Faria and unlock...

Front of the Casino

Click on Collectible #12/33, which is a footprint to the left of the sewer manhole.

Talk to the guard standing in front of the door on the left, then talk to the woman painting in the center of the screen.

Interact with the shutter between the woman and the car, then zoom in on the brown base of it. Interact with the door to open it and get the Socket Wrench, then back up.

Zoom in on the red vending machine on the left side of the screen and use the Socket Wrench on the panel with the lightning bolt. Take the Battery Cable from inside then back out.

Zoom back in on the brown base where you got the Socket Wrench and use the Battery Cable on the panel. Zoom in on the car and interact with both cables to attach them to the battery. This will cause the shutter from before to lift up and reveal a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Completing the HOS will get you a Doughnut Coupon.

Zoom in on the red vending machine again and use the Doughnut Coupon on the Doughnut slot to get a Doughnut.

Use the Doughnut on the woman to get the Casino Pass and the Pizza Cutter. Open the Casino Pass' combination menu and use the Pizza Cutter on it to trim off the unnecessary parts.

Use the Casino Pass on the guard to move on.

Casino

Talk to the man standing in the center of the room and take the Card Box from him. Click on Collectible #13/33, which is a footprint on the floor right in front of the previous man's hands.

Zoom in on the carpet at the man's feet and interact with it to move it aside. Interact with any of the buttons on this puzzle and they will glow to show you the order to hit them in. Labeling them 1-5 from left to right, the solution is: 4, 2, 5, 1, 3. Solving this puzzle will reveal your next HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Solving the HOS will get you a Trophy.

Zoom in on the bar between the two men on the left and take the Keys. Open the Keys' combination menu and interact with the Keys to start a puzzle. The goal is to match all the sets of keys until only one is left. Interact with the final key to get the Key.

Zoom in on the Trophy Case in the back of the room and use the Key on the lock. Zoom back in and take the Ice Pick from the shelf, then use the Trophy on the empty stand to get Token 1/3.

Zoom back in on the bar between the two men on the left and use the Ice Pick on the tap to get Token 2/3.

Talk to the man sitting at the table to the right of the Trophy Case to get Token 3/3. Open the Card Box's combination menu and use the Tokens on it to open the box, then use the open Card Box on the man and he will have a puzzle for you.

Click on Collectible #14/33, which is a handprint on the Ace of Clubs sign near the top of the screen.

Zoom in on the bottom of the Hot Dog Stand and take the Gear, then back out.

Zoom in on the oil barrel on the left side of the screen and take the Wrench and the Baseball. While still zoomed in, interact with the rope tied around the barrel to start a puzzle where you must untangle the rope, if a line is red, then it is still tangled. See the video below for reference.

After untangling it, you will receive the Rope. Enter the Back Alley between the Ace of Clubs and the Apothecary.

Back Alley

Click on Collectible #15/33, which is a handprint on the dumpster.

Zoom in on the bushes in front of the telephone pole, then back out and return to the Ace of Clubs.

Ace of Clubs

Walk up to the Apothecary for a HOS. You must find 12 bottles of Pesticide. 11 of which are hidden behind another object and only one is in the open. Use the video below for reference.

Completing the HOS will get you Pesticide. Return to the Back Alley.

Back Alley

Zoom in on the bushes in front of the telephone pole and use the Pesticide on them to kill them off and reveal another puzzle. The goal is to move the ladder segments into position so that you can climb up them. You must have a space between each bar to be able to climb it. Once you reach the top, use the Baseball on the hook and you will need to press cn_A when the target turns green in order to knock the hook down. Take the Hook. Use the video below for reference.

Open the Rope's combination menu and use the Hook on it to get a Rope with Hook.

Zoom in on the dumpster and use the Rope with Hook, you'll have to press cn_A when the target turns green in order to pull the item to you. Take the Jack and return to the Ace of Clubs.

Ace of Clubs

Zoom in on the Hot Dog Stand and use the Jack, then use the Wrench and interact with it to raise it up. Take the Trash Can Lid and return to the Back Alley.

Back Alley

Zoom in on the trash can on the left and use the Trash Can Lid on it to reveal a door.

Victor's House

Click on Collectible #16/33, which is a footprint on the sidewalk roughly where the water from the fire hydrant is landing.

Zoom in on the fire hydrant and take the Chain from it, then back out.

Zoom in on the mailbox for another puzzle. Like a few from before, this one will show you a pattern that you must copy to solve it. Treating these buttons like a number pad:

The solution is: 4, 9, 2, 5, 8, 1, 3, 7, 6. Once solved interact with the note and take the Magnet and Valve Base from inside.

Open the Magnet's combination menu and use the Chain on it to get a Magnet on a Chain.

Interact with the manhole cover in the road to move it aside, then zoom in on the hole. Use the Magnet on a Chain to pull up the item, then pick up the Valve Wheel.

Zoom in on the fire hydrant and use the Valve Wheel, then use the Valve Base on the Valve Wheel. Interact with Valve to turn off the fire hydrant and reveal a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Solving the HOS will get you a Golf Stick.

Zoom in on Victor's front door and use the Golf Stick to get inside for a cutscene.

Inside Victor's House

Click on Collectible #17/33, which is a footprint right next to Victor.

Pick up the Big Weight in front of the cabinet on the right.

Zoom in on the table next to Victor. Grab the tiny rake and rake the sand to find and take a Small Weight, then take the Box Cutter on the right.

Zoom in on the painting above Victor and use the Box Cutter to cut it out. Take the Gramophone Handle and back out.

Zoom in on the Gramophone on the left side of the screen and use the Gramophone Handle on the slot. Take the Showcase Key.

Zoom in on the cabinet and use the Showcase Key on the lock to open it. Walk up to the Cabinet for a puzzle. Use both the Big Weight and Small Weight to begin, then simply swap Weight 15 with one of the Weight 1's to solve the puzzle and receive the Safe Piece.

Zoom in on the safe above Victor and use the Safe Piece to open it. Take the Tapes and Camera Film, then read the Journal to move on.

Warehouse Entrance

Talk to the man for your next objective, then click on Collectible #18/33, which is a footprint on the ground in-between the barrels and pallet on the left side of the screen.

Zoom in on the puddle in the center of the screen. Take the Crowbar and the Can.

Zoom in on the shutter slightly northwest of the previous puddle and use the Crowbar to lift it and reveal a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Solving the HOS will get you a Slingshot.

Open the Can's combination screen and interact with the Pull Tab to pull it off. Zoom in on the barrels on the left side of the screen and use the Pull Tab on the bag, then interact with it to open it. Take the Spray and Paper from inside. While still zoomed in, use the Spray on the combination on the wall, then use the Paper on it to get the Safe Code.

Interact with the door between the barrels and HOS area to open it and head inside.

Boiler Room

Click on Collectible #19/33 which is a handprint on a cylinder on the right of the safe.

Zoom in on the machine with the red glowing light near the top of the screen and take the Button on the left, then back out.

Zoom in on the machine on the far right and take the Rag, then use the Button on the panel. Enter the code 3824, then take the Wrench and Hex Nut.

Open the Slingshot's combination menu and use the Hex Nut on it. Use the Slingshot on the Valve sitting on the machine at the very top of the screen, press cn_A when the target turns green to shoot it down. Pick up the Pipe Valve.

Zoom in on the top of the machine on the far left and take the Oil Can Cap. Use the Rag on the spilled oil, then use the Oil Can Cap on the Oil Can to take it.

Zoom in on the Valve above the large barrel on the right side of the screen. Use the Pipe Valve on the pipe at the top, then interact with it to raise the water level and get the Clamp.

Zoom in on the machine with the red glowing light near the top of the screen and use the Clamp on the steaming pipe. Next use the Oil Can, then use the Wrench to turn off the steam. Take the Valve Wheel.

Walk up to the safe on the left and use the Valve Wheel and the Safe Code. We will have to open a safe like we did back in Mortimer's House, so enter the following combination:

  • Hold cn_LSr until you land on 20, then let go to enter "R20"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 70, then let go to enter "L70"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 0, then let go to enter "L0"
  • Hold cn_LSr until you land on 40, then let go to enter "R40"
  • Hold cn_LSl until you land on 90, then let go to enter "L90"

Once complete the safe will open. Interact with all three valves to fix the boiler and return to the Warehouse Entrance.

Warehouse Entrance

Talk to the man and take the Key. Use the Key on the door with the house symbol on it to move on.

Warehouse

Interact with the man to take the sack off his head, then click on Collectible #20/33, which is a footprint on the side of the larger barrel on the right side of the screen.

Grab the ladder behind the man and put it in front of the barrel the Collectible was on.

Zoom in on the machine under the window and take the Fan Button from the slot, and the Screwdriver which is acting as a lever, then back out.

Zoom in on the fan in the top right corner and use the Fan Button. Use the Screwdriver on the left fan to remove the face plate and get the Pouch, then back out.

Zoom back in on the machine under the window and zoom in on the number pad on the left. Enter the code 528 and take the Pliers, then back out.

Zoom back in on the fan and use the Pliers on the right fan to cut open the face plate. Take the Candy Machine Handle.

Open the Pouch's combination menu and interact with it to get a Candy Machine Coin.

Zoom back in on the machine under the window and use the Candy Machine Handle on the left slot, and the Candy Machine Coin on the right slot. Interact with the Handle to get a piece of Candy.

Walk up to Mortimer to start a puzzle that requires you to untie him. This works just like the rope puzzle earlier, use the video below for reference.

Once complete you will move on to the next area after a cutscene.

Mortimer's Studio

Talk to Mortimer, then use the Camera Film on him. Once he leaves, click on Collectible #21/33 which is a thumbprint on the seat of the chair in the middle of the room.

Interact with the door on the left and enter it to go to the Dressing Room.

Dressing Room

Click on Collectible #22/33 which is a handprint on the small mirror in the back of the room.

Zoom in on the portrait hanging on the wall between the mirrors and take the Chest Code.

Zoom in on the chest on the left side of the room and use the Chest Code to see the solution. You'll need to move the limbs to match the Code in order to open the chest. Remember that the Upper arms and Lower arms are separate limbs from each other, the same goes for the thighs and the legs. Use the video below for reference.

Upon solving the puzzle, you will open the box. Move the shoe and pick up the Lens.

Zoom in on the lamp on the table under the small mirror. Take the Light Bulb from the lamp, and the Small Saw from the table, then back out.

Zoom in on the row of shirts on the far left and take the Glove, then move the hat and shirt before taking the Umbrella. Return to Mortimer's Studio.

Mortimer's Studio

Zoom in on the light fixture to the right of the chair and use the Glove to remove the broken light bulb, then use your Light Bulb to replace it. Next use the Umbrella on the same light fixture.

Zoom in on the fan pointing at the light fixture and press the button on the back to turn it off. Use the Small Saw to cut the fan open, then interact with the metal to remove it and get the Drawer Handle. Return to the Dressing Room.

Dressing Room

Zoom in on the dresser under the mirror and use the Drawer Handle on the drawer. Interact with the drawer to open it and take the Insulation Tape. Return to Mortimer's Studio.

Mortimer's Studio

Zoom in on the lit up wall outlet to the right of the light fixture and use the Insulation Tape on the wire then interact with the plug to plug it in. A code will be revealed in the umbrella of the light fixture and we'll have to input that in the small dresser next to the Dressing Room door.

Zoom in on the small dresser next to the Dressing Room door. Use the Lens to replace the missing one and start the puzzle.

  • Move the left dial to the 9 o' clock position or cn_left.
  • Move the middle dial to the 3 o' clock position or cn_right.
  • Move the right dial to the 7 o' clock position or cn_downleft.

This will open the lid of the small dresser, so walk up to it for a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Solving the HOS will get you a Dictaphone.

Open the Dictaphone's combination menu and interact with the case to open it. Use the Tapes on it and interact with the play button to listen to it.

Click on Collectible #23/33, which is a footprint on the bottom left corner of the screen in front of the car.

Zoom in on the blue dumpster in the back and take the Walking Stick and Wheel.

Go down the alley next to the bus stop to the Construction Area.

Construction Area

Click on Collectible #24/33, which is a footprint on the ground in front of the orange construction cone.

Zoom in on the hole in the fence which literally has a giant lit up arrow pointing to it. Use the Walking Stick to pull the Toolbox over to you and pick it up.

Open the Toolbox's combination menu and interact with the box to open it. Take the Lug Wrench and Nut from inside.

Zoom in on the Cart to the right (it's a hand cart) and use the Wheel on it, then use the Nut and Lug Wrench in that order to fix it. Take the Cart. Go back In the Street.

In the Street

Use the Cart on the trash bags blocking the telephone booth to move them aside and turn them into a HOS.

Completing the HOS will get you a Cup. Return to the Construction Area.

Construction Area

Talk to the man on the left, then use the Cup on him. He will play a Shell Game with you and the goal is to watch the cups and choose the one that has the red ball in it. He doesn't move his hands too fast and each time I've done this, the ball has always been under the cup his hands are not touching. You have to do this three times to win. Take the Bill from him and return to In the Street.

In the Street

Zoom in on the small black post on the sidewalk between the car and the trash and use the Bill on the slot to receive Coins.

Zoom in on the left side of the same carpet and take the Shoehorn.

Zoom in on the potted plant in the rear window and use the Shoehorn on the dirt to get a Key.

Zoom in on the glass case on the far right and use the Key on the lock to open it. Take the Hammer.

Zoom back in on the carpet where you got the Shoehorn and use the Hammer on the nails to uncover a HOS.

Walk up to the HOS and solve it to receive a Lock Pick Set.

Zoom in on the door closest to you and interact with the tag twice to remove it. Use the Lock Pick Set on the lock to start a puzzle. The goal is simply to move the lock picks around and unlock the lock. Each layer of the lock is controlled by a separate lock pick and each layer also has a small open section. You need to move each layer so that each open section faces upwards. Use the video below for reference.

Once unlocked, interact with the door for a short cutscene.

Talk to Conrad and use the Photo Clue on him for another Puzzle. Like way back in Barbara's House, we need to find three of the object on the left in the picture on the right. We need to do this three times to complete the puzzle. Use the video below for reference.

Front of the Bank

Walk up to the box on the street post to the left of the screen and take the Pencil.

Click on Collectible #26/33 which is a handprint on the wall above the podium on the right side of the screen.

Head to the right to go the Back of the Bank.

Back of the Bank

Click on Collectible #27/33 which is a handprint on the stone barrier on the right side of the screen.

Pick up the three Guideposts which are arrow shaped signs located here:

  • Leaning against the stone barrier
  • Inside the bicycle
  • On top of the wall under the street light

Interact with the Posters next to the trash can to remove them, then walk up to the number pad underneath. Pick up the Piece of Poster then back out and return to the Front of the Bank.

Front of the Bank

Zoom in on the guidepost in front of the guards and use the Guideposts on it. Once the guideposts are in place, use the Piece of Poster and Pencil on them to get the Code.

Go to the Back of the Bank.

Back of the Bank

Zoom in on the number pad again and use the Code. Enter the code 72853 to reveal a rotation puzzle. To solve this puzzle, you must rotate all of the six slots to align the image on them. I find it easiest if you number them 1-6 and align them in the order 236451. Use the video below for reference.

Once solved take the Round Tile and Spike 1/2. Return to the Front of the Bank.

Front of the Bank

Walk up tp the box on the traffic post again and use the Round Tile to start a puzzle. The goal is to put the symbols in the order shown at the top of the screen. Colors are similar vehicles are allowed bypass each other, meaning two bicycles can swap places and two reds can swap places, but a red and green cannot swap places unless they are the same vehicle. Use the video below for reference.

Once solved, take Spike 2/2 and return to the Back of the Bank.

Back of the Bank

Walk up to the wall to the right of the sleeping man. Use the Spikes on the wall to add them to it and start a puzzle. The goal is to reach the top by grabbing onto the correct spikes. If you grab an incorrect spike, you'll be dropped back down to the beginning. This is trial and error to find out which is correct or incorrect. The solution has always been the same for me however, and that is as follows:

  • The first row's real spike is the one on the right.
  • The second row's real spike is on the left.
  • The final row's real spike is in the middle.

After completing the puzzle, you will arrive inside the bank and unlock...

Click on Collectible #28/33, which is a footprint on the floor in the window's moonlight.

Zoom in on the desk drawers and take the Notebook sitting on top. Open the Notebook's combination menu and interact with it to open it and take the Paperclip and Code.

While still zoomed in on the desk drawer, use the Paperclip on the lock to unlock it and take the Tape.

Zoom in on the shelf on the right side wall and use the Tape on the glass to get a Fingerprint (not a collectible).

Zoom in on the safe sitting on the desk, then zoom in on the number pad. Use the Fingerprint and the Code on it, then enter the code 83627 to open it and take the Pass Card.

Zoom in on the box on the wall above the shelves at the top of the screen and use the Fuse Box Handle to get Wrench 1/2 and Wrench 2/2.

Zoom in on the locker on the left and use the Wrenches on the lock to break it. Walk up to the locker to find it is now a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Zoom back in on the box on the wall where you got the Wrapped Paper, and use the Elevator Box Key to open it. Take the Guard Figurine from inside and back out. Go back to the Hallway.

Zoom in on the statue behind the potted plant and near the stairs, then use the Guard Figurine on the left glowing green mark to get the Panel Code. Return Downstairs.

Walk up to the panel above the ashtray and use the Panel Code to start a puzzle. The goal is to click on the squares to light them up and make the image on the Panel Code. Use the video below for reference.

Zoom in on the ceiling vent and use the Utility Knife on the rope to cut open the vent. This will cause a mess to fall on the floor which is actually a HOS. Use the video below for reference.

Solving the HOS will get you a Magnet. Also assuming you never pressed cn_up and used your Hint Gauge through all of the HOS' you'll unlock...

Zoom in on the vent in the wall right next to the HOS. Use the Magnet to get the Handle.

Zoom in on the box in the wall to the right of the elevator and use the Handle on it to open it. Take the Toolbox Key and back out.

Zoom back in on the toolbox on the ladder and use the Toolbox Key on it to open it. Take the Fuse.

Zoom back in on the box in the wall by the elevator and interact with it to remove the old fuses, then use the Fuse on it to repair it.
