Chapter 5

Head towards the exit and enter the office on the right. On a desk you’ll find Document: MKULTRA Program Excerpt. Now it’s about to get dark. Properly dark.

Leave through the main exit door and turn on your night vision. Walk straight forward and you’ll reach a fountain. Walk through the fountain and you’ll see a globe of light off to the left. Walk towards this light. At the top of the stairs, behind the light, you’ll see a slogan painted on the wall. Look on the floor for Document: Our Own Personal Cavalry.

Turn around and walk back to the fountain. You should now see two light sources, one on either side of the fountain. The right source is the hospital, the source on the left is a shed. Head towards the hospital.

At the hospital, stand at the bottom of the stairs and face the fountain. Walk forward slowly and you’ll see a small tree on the left of the screen. Stop level with this tree and turn to face it. You’ll be able to see a light source behind the tree, which is another shed. Go to that shed.

On the wall inside the shed is a key, pick it up. There’s also a battery on the shelves here. Now, leave the shed and walk straight forwards until you reach the other shed. Keep your night vision on and go inside. Walk straight through the door in front of you and turn right. Walk down the passage and open the door at the end (make sure your camera and night vision are on) to receive Note: [REDACTED to avoid spoilers].

Head through the gate on your left to reach the outside again. Immediately on your right you’ll see a ladder bathed in light, so climb up it to the roof. Walk to the right along the roof and jump to the second building when you get to it.

Walk to the end of this roof and look to the right to see a ledge. Jump on to this ledge, look left, and jump on to the next roof. Follow the planks around to a ledge that you can edge along and around a corner. There will be two planks on the roof here, which you can use to jump over the fence on to another building. Look to your left and you’ll see a light source.

Walk slowly towards this to reach the edge of the roof. Look down to see some boxes and drop down on to them to safely reach the floor. Ahead of you will be some stacked pallets and a skip. Use these to climb up and over the fence leading to the light.

Now, keep the fence to your left and follow it all the way around the building. Keep following the fence when it turns away from the building and you’ll reach someone on a bench, next to a stair case. Climb the stairs. This time, keep the fence on your right and follow the blood stains on the floor. They’ll lead you to a gap in the fence.

We haven’t seen the BFG for a while, so he’s obviously waiting down there for you. Drop down through the gap and immediately crouch. If you rush in here, he’s gonna get you. Follow the wall to your right all the way around until you reach the fence.

Now, follow the fence until you reach a building with a huge stack of pallets. Climb up the pallets on to a ledge on the building. Look to your left and edge your way around the building. Once you’ve past the fence below you, turn your camera off to conserve batteries, stand still and wait for a lightning flash. It will reveal a pavilion in front of you.

Continue around the ledge and drop down once you reach the end. Now turn left and head for the pavilion. Edge around to the right of the pavilion and you’ll see a light source ahead of you. Walk towards this but be prepared to run as the BFG is waiting for you.

Once he starts chasing, turn around and run back to the pavilion (it’ll be straight ahead of you). When you get to it, run around it to make enough space to get past BFG and then run back to the light source. There’s a hole in the wall you can crouch through, so do so as soon as you can.

Head forwards and turn right once you’re on the other side. You’ll see a fenced area and a fountain. Head over to the fountain and film it for Note: Don’t Drink the Water. Turn your camera off.

Look to your left and you’ll see a lamp post. Behind the light is a stack of pallets, which you can use to climb in through the window.

Chapter 6

Walk forwards and turn right to see a big opening in the wall ahead of you. Walk up to this and turn left. Head into the dark passage and turn right to find a battery on the floor. Now turn around and follow the passage. Vault over the door and turn right.

Walk down the passage, past a door on the left, and then turn left down another passage. Squeeze through the gap here and use the table on your left to climb through the window into another room. There are three machines ahead of you. Walk over to the middle on and film inside it to receive Note: The Sound in the Machine.

Now head through the door into the light and turn to the right. Head through the door and turn right again. Run to the end of this passage and you’ll find a staircase. Look under the stairs for Document: Walrider and Nightmares.

Now turn around and run all the way back to the other end of this passage and turn left. You’ll be in a lit room with a wheelchair on the floor. Enter the room and head over to the elevator on the left. Turn your night vision on and film downwards inside the elevator for Note: No Safe Place.

Head into the doorway to your right and down the stairs. Head forwards and turn right to enter a dark room. Walk diagonally across this room to find a desk holding Document: Project Paperclip Excerpt. Now head back up the stairs and take the door to the left of the elevator.

Head up the stairs and look right to see some candles above you. Jump up to reach that level and turn right. Head forwards, through the door, and turn left. Enter the next room and immediately turn left again to enter another door.

Vault over the obstruction and enter the window on your left. On the left side of this room you’ll see a dumbwaiter with a key inside it and a fuse box. Remember this. Check in the corner to the right of the dumbwaiter for a battery.

Leave through the door opposite the dumbwaiter and head left. Follow the passage until you reach a man in a wheelchair and turn left again. Enter the door here to find a fuse on the table in front of you. The guy in here will start chasing you, but he’s very slow so don’t worry about him.

Leave the room, close the door behind you and head straight past the wheelchair guy. Vault over the bed, take note of the recess on the right, and head to the door at the end of the passage. Another guy will turn up here, so slowly back up slightly and enter the recess to the right. Wait for the guy to run past then slowly make your way through the door he came through.

On the left side of this room you’ll find another fuse on a table. You have two choices here. Either wait in the room for the guy to reappear, then trap him inside, or quickly run to the recess and hide there quietly until he walks past again.

Either way, vault over the obstruction in the passage and turn left at the wheelchair guy. Run straight to the end of the passage and turn left. If the guy is chasing you, run straight to the end of this passage and you’ll find some lockers. Hide in one of them until he goes away.

Half way along this passage is the door to the dumbwaiter room. Climb inside and turn right to find another window. Jump through this one and follow the passage to a large room containing a third fuse.

With all three fuses in hand, run back to the dumbwaiter room (close the door behind you, just in case) and put them in the fuse box. Hit the button and the key will fall down the shaft. Turn left and jump through the window.

Turn right and vault over the desk. At the end of the passage, turn right and you’ll enter the upper elevator room. Head down the stairs to the right (remember to jump over the gap) and you’ll be in the room with the wheelchair.

Leave through the door in this room and turn right. Run down the hall and keep an eye on the right for the door to the Laundry Room. Head inside here to find the dumbwaiter shaft. Open it and grab the key to unlock:

Head back through the door you just entered through and turn left. Head down the corridor and the door in front of you will open, starting a short chase. Turn left and run back to the wheelchair/elevator room. Run up the stairs to the left of the elevator, make the jump and continue upwards.

The key will unlock the door leading to the stairs on the other side of the elevator in this room, so head up those stairs. There’s a large jump here you need to make to reach the next floor. Make it, and you’ll find two batteries on the table right in front of you (I’m assuming you’ll have a lot more battery left than I did at this point, but they’ll be just as welcome, I’m sure).

Turn right, through the door, and immediately turn right again. Edge your way half way across the ledge and then jump into the room opposite. Walk forward and you’ll fall through the floor. Turn on your night vision and walk straight ahead. There will be a stack of beds to your right that you can use to climb back up.

Walk back around the room, avoiding the hole in the floor, and enter the lit door on your left. Head through the next door and walk diagonally towards the far left corner of this room. On the bed in the corner you’ll find Document: You Promised Me a Rose Garden.

With the window in the corner directly ahead of you, turn around and head to the other side of the room. Ignore the door to the left and head through the broken double doors ahead of you. Turn right and head down the passage. Turn left at the corner and then enter the door to your right. Film the message on the wall for Note: Lies.

Head back out of the room and turn right. Follow the passage along until you reach a slightly open double door on your right. Activate your night vision, if your battery is red, switch to a new one, and head inside. Run straight to the other side of the room, avoiding the two enemies (aren’t you glad you checked your battery?) and enter the door in the far right corner.

Here you have to make another jump to reach the other side of the room. Edge along the ledge to your right. Follow the walkway and jump towards the ledge by the door.

Once you’re back in control, jump down and enter the door on the left. Navigate through the beds and enter the open double doors on the left of the room. Turn right and duck under the boards into the lit area.

Run around to the other side of this room to find a hole in the floor by the toilet cubicles. Drop down, head through the door in front of you and turn right. Turn right again and vault over the obstruction. Continue down the passage and take your first left. Follow the passage to enter a large room.

Exit through the door on the right wall and cross into the door immediately ahead of you to your left. Walk through this room into another, and vault over the obstruction to your right. You can see a small light in the far right corner of this room – this is your camera. Run and pick it up. And then get ready to run again, as it’s chase time...

Directly ahead of you, you’ll be able to see the window on the other side of the room. Run to that window and turn left to find the door. Head through the door and run all the way forward (there’s a couple of obstructions you need to run around) until you reach another window. Turn left again.

Run forward and you’ll reach some shelves. Turn left and keep running until you can turn right. Run down this passage, vault over the obstruction and turn immediately left. Run forwards and turn left again to enter the bathroom.

Climb on top of the lockers directly ahead of you and up through the ceiling. Head around to the other side of this room and duck under the boards through the hole in the wall. Turn right and enter the door on your left. Navigate back around the beds to enter the door to right side of this room.

In this room, you can use all the collapsed wood to climb up to the next level and enter the door. Turn left and jump over the gap in the floor. Head through the door and turn to your left to see a light in the distance. Head towards this and walk slowly through the door and stop.

The floor will collapse ahead of you, so use the edges of the room to work your way around to the other side. Once you’re above the door, carefully drop down and head through.

Turn right at the guy and crouch through the gap. Continue onwards and squeeze through the next gap.

Chapter Seven

Run forwards and the BFG will appear. Keep running towards him until you get to a door on your left with light shining through it. Enter the door, climb up on to the desk and enter the vent. Crawl to your right, towards the dead body, and there will be another vent to your right almost immediately. Head down this path and drop into the room. On the desk ahead of you is Document: Billy’s Dreams.

Climb back up into the vent and head to the dead body. Push him out of the vent and drop down. Enter the Library to your left, and on a desk in the far right corner is Document: The Spirit Beach. Leave the Library through the door you entered and look to the right to see another door. Open it to find another elevator room.

Head through the door on the far side of this room, to your left. Turn to the right and continue down the passage. Turn left into the dark room and locate a hole in the floor leading to a lit area. Drop down and head through the door on the left to find a battery. Return to the previous room and climb up the ladder. Head to the right and use the ledge to bypass the door below you.

Drop down and head to the left until you find a small set of wooden stairs leading to an open door. Go through the door and you’ll find a ramp in the right corner leading through a hole in the wall. Drop down and film the cinema screen for Note: The Wernicke Exit Interview.

Once you’ve done that (it takes a while), turn around and head through the door in the far left corner of the room. Head through the other door in this room and head down to the end of the corridor, past the stairs, to find a crate holding Document: Necrotizing Fasciitis.

Turn around and head up the stair case. Duck under the boxes and open the door ahead of you. Walk around this room and open the door on the other side. There’s a battery on the shelves to the right of the door. Backtrack under the boxes and through the (now) open door to your left at the top of the stairs.

Edge across the ledge to your left to reach the projector room. Jump across and head inside. Grab the key from the table, go through the door ahead of you, and follow the path around until you’re back at the boxes again. Crouch under them and head down the stairs.

Turn around and head back past the stairs, through the office and out into the cinema. There’s an Exit door to your left, which is taking a bit of a battering, so run past it and hide in the dark corner. Once the door is broken open, wait for the guy to wander away and then quietly walk through the door and up the stairs.

Turn right at the top then take the next right to enter an elevator room. The key will open the cage door to the left of the elevator. Open it and head up the stairs. Head through the door in the far right corner here to reach a kitchen area. Go through the double doors to enter a large room.

Walk towards the large window and turn left to find a door in the darkness. Enter the door and turn left. Head down the corridor until you see an open door on the right, leading to a recreation room with an active television in it. Film the guy in front of the television for Note: Static Prayer.

Head back out the door and turn to the right. By the shelves at the end of the corridor there is a gap in the wall. Squeeze through it. Open the door in this room and head to the right. Head down the passage and keep a lookout for room B329 on the right. On a desk by the door inside is Document: The Gospel of Judas.

Leave the room and head left, back down the corridor. Keep an eye on your right for room B326 and enter. Use the bed to climb out the window. Edge your way around the ledge to reach an open window.

Leave the room and turn right. Follow the passage around and turn right into the chapel. Head inside, grab the key from the lectern in front of you and start filming the crucifix for Note: [REDACTED to avoid spoilers]. This goes on for quite a while, but keep filming until the note pops.

Leave the chapel and turn right. Follow the passage and climb up into the vent. Drop down the other side and the BFG will turn up. Run down the corridor on your right, right to the end, and enter the last door on the left. Stand back so you have a view of both doors.

The BFG will start to break through one of the door, so run to the other door and get out. Run to the right, back down the corridor, and turn right at the end of it. Keep running and enter the last door on the left. On the floor on the left side of the room is a vending machine. Use it to climb into the vent above it.

Drop down the other side and head through the door to find an open elevator. Go inside and hit the button. When the elevator stops, head forwards and through the doors.

Chapter Eight

Run down the passage and enter the door at the end. Turn on your camera and film the reception area with the two screens for Note: Under the Mountain. Behind the counter of the reception is Document: The Pride of Wisdom.

Head through the door in the back right of this room and follow the passage around. Enter the double doors at the end. Go past the open door to your left and then open the second door to your left. On the table in the middle of the room is Document: Variant Postmortem.

Head back out the door and turn left. Enter the double doors at the end. Head down the passage, vault the blockage and enter the door with the green light above it, to the right. Head through the doors and film the whiteboard to receive Note: Morphogenic Formula. Leave the room, head back into the main corridor and turn right.

Continue to the end, where the red lights are, and turn left to find the exit. Now sprint back down the corridor, vaulting over the obstructions, and open the doors at the end for Note: [REDACTED to avoid spoilers].

Once you’re back in control, head down the corridor you’re facing and enter the first door on your left. When the door opens again, head outside and go left. Just before the corridor turns to the right, there’s a door to your left. Head through it. Walk to the end of the passage, ignoring the doors leading off, and turn left.

Sprint all the way down and open the double doors at the end. Keep running. Turn right and enter the room with large blue pipes and large brown containers. Head to the containers and squeeze in between them to reach the staircase on the other side.

Sprint up the stairs and turn right at the top. Enter the door and keep going to enter a decontamination chamber. When it opens, head to the right and go through the open double doors. On your right, in the hands of a dead security guard, is Document: Gods and Monsters. Open the other doors in this room and continue down the passage.

At the end, the doors will automatically open for you. Enter the room and film the massive circular object through the window for Note: Wernicke’s Machine. Head through the door ahead of you and walk up to the machine to find Document: Mophogenic Engine Chamber Precautions. (Notice the screen with the hand print next to the document, you’ll need that later). To the left of this document is a man suspended in a globe. Film him to receive Note: Billy Hope.

Head to the far right of this room to find the door to Life Support Fluid Reservoir. Go through the door and follow the passage to another set of double doors. Open the doors and film the massive bank of machinery and fluid tanks ahead of you for Note: Life Support.

Head around the back of the machinery and up the stairs in the left corner. Go across the walkway and enter the door full of screens to your left. On the table looking out over the room you’ll find Document: The Modern Prometheus.

Leave this room and continue left along the walkway. Follow it all the way around to find a valve. Turn it and prepare to run like hell. Run back around the walkway, down the stairs, past the life support machinery and out the door. Keep going until you enter the room with the large circular machinery.

Run around the machinery to the stairs on the other side and run up them. Enter the door at the top and squeeze through the gap between the barrels. Keep running and go through the double doors. Run to the far left corner of the room and sprint all the way up the stairs to the top.

At the very top of the stairs is a massive jump. Once you’re on the other side, turn right and activate your night vision. Navigate the tunnel to reach, and enter, another decontamination chamber. Once the door opens on the other side, head up the stairs.

At the top, you’ll reach a room with a desk. On the far left of this desk is Document: Permission to Proceed. Head out the door to the right of the desk and follow the walkway around to the wall. Open the compartment on the wall and yank out the cables.

Head back down the stairs and re-enter the decontamination chamber. Navigate through the tunnel to reach the top of the huge flight of stairs from earlier and jump across.

Once you’re back in control, look to your left for some double doors and sprint through them. Keep sprinting, squeeze through the gap ahead of you and sprint some more. Run down the stairs at the end and run up to the large circular machinery. Hit the screen with the hand print on it.

Once you’re back in control, film the globe containing Billy Hope for Note: [REDACTED to avoid spoilers] and unlock:

Turn around and hobble up the stairs, back down the corridor and through the door at the end to unlock:
