Welcome to the TA walkthrough for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1.

Poppy Playtime has finally hit Xbox after going viral back in 2021, especially the character of Huggy Wuggy, whom you'll meet in this chapter. It's a survival horror game, where you play a former employee of a toy-making company who returns to the abandoned factory a decade after all those working there disappeared.
I recommend playing through the game blind first as it has a couple of excellent jumpscares.
That said though, this walkthrough is purely aimed at getting achievements, so I'l be skipping through much of the backstory and getting you the full 1000G as fast as possible, which could take about 30 minutes (give or take, depending on your reading and playing speed).
Controls
The control scheme for Poppy Playtime is pretty basic and you do get popups on-screen letting you know how to play, but they're listed here too:

Before we begin, consider this a spoiler warning. I'll give you jumpscare warnings as we go along, but naturally, this partly ruins the "horror" aspect of the game. If you wish to avoid these, run the game first without this walkthrough, then mop up anything you miss afterwards. The jumpscare warnings won't say exactly what is happening, just be wary.
Main Walkthrough
From the main menu, start a new game and dive into the opening cutscene. Watch it if you'd like but you can also skip it by holding if you so desire.
Once you start, head towards the reception desk in front of you and grab the Green VHS tape on the right side of it.
Turn right and place this tape into the Green VCR
Once it starts playing you can listen to it or skip it (hold ), but once the speech ends, you'll unlock;
Turn around and head to the security door with the colour-coded pad. Hit green, pink, yellow then red (for those struggling with colour; top left, bottom right, top middle, middle left) and the door will open.
Head inside and on a table ahead and slightly left is a headless four-legged red toy. In front of it is a Blue VHS tape.
Grab that and look right, placing it in the Blue VCR right next to you.
Skip it or watch it to unlock the next achievement;
Take the blue GrabPack from the slot that opens next to the TV. Turn around and return to the reception area. Go through the turnstile on either side of the reception and look at the blue handprint above the door. Press to fire your blue hand at it and keep it there to power the door. As the door opens you'll get your first look at Huggy Wuggy.
Approach Huggy and look at the plaque on a stand in front of him. Press the red button using your hand to play his theme songs and once it finishes, you'll unlock;
Look left and you'll see another blue handprint above a door. Activate it, only to find that the door it is linked to remains locked. Turn around and face Huggy to find that the key you need is hanging from his raised right hand. Grab it and use it on the yellow/power door. Head through and into the next room, loop around the lockers to the right until you find a handle underneath a white light;
Open the door using your hand and then fire the hand onto the generator inside to electrify it. You then need to connect it to the two electrical pylons in the room. Backtrack towards the door while still holding the power and make sure your arm touches the pylons, causing them to light up. The first is just behind you, and the second is back by the door, so as long as you hug the lockers, you'll reach it just fine.
Once both pylons are lit, let go of the power and electricity will return to the building. Leave the room the way you entered and you'll notice a disturbing change.
Turn left and open the door with the single blue hand above it. Head down the corridor.
Jumpscare warning
Travel through the now-open door labelled as 05, following the blue path ahead of you. Head through the door and up the stairs inside.
Quick jumpscare (you might even miss it)
This next puzzle is random in every playthrough but is very easy to solve
In the next area at the top of the stairs, you'll see a glowing coloured cube on the floor. Grab it and place it in the panel on your right. Drop down via the broken railing and in this room, you'll find the other three coloured cubes. You can grab all three at the same time. The locations of these cubes change in every playthrough, but as they're glowing brightly, you'll find them pretty quickly. However, before you grab the cubes, there's another tape in here.
Fall down and go left, in between the grey sliding door on your left and the first bookshelf on your right. Head to the back wall and you'll be able to tuck around the back of the first bookshelf to find another bookshelf that's partly falling over. On the second shelf up, you'll spot an Orange VHS tape.
Grab that, then find the other coloured cubes. Once you've got them all, head to the large grey sliding door and pull it open (hold ). As you leave, you'll spot the Orange VCR at the bottom of the stairs.
Insert the tape and once it ends, you'll unlock;
Go up the stairs and stick the remaining three cubes into the panel. This activates the claw to retrieve the other arms of the GrabPack. It'll drop onto the conveyor belt nearby, drop down and collect it.
Travel to the end of the conveyor belt and place the correct coloured hand on each of the handprints above the door. With a hand on each, the door will power and then open. Crouch and enter the passage. Take the long slope down then at the bottom, go right. Travel to the end where the fan is in the wall. Take a left at the end. Once around that corner, take your first left up a short slope with a red light at the top. At the top, look right and grab the generator you'll see.
Turn around 180 degrees and you'll spot a pylon. Drop down the slope left of the pylon and then travel to the right, ensuring the powered hand touches the pylon. Follow the conveyor path around to the right and you'll see a second generator button on your left. Place your other hand on it, then the conveyor belt you're on will activate. You can sit sill and enjoy the ride.
Jumpscare warning
Once you reach the end, drop down and look right to see some stairs up. Head up them and go right (you'll notice a pink VCR on the right). Follow the platform and grab the orange handle on the floor to close the gap. Stand on this newly moved piece of platform and look right, where you'll spot the Pink VHS Tape on the wall to the right.
Turn around and place it in the Pink VCR you just passed.
This unlocks;
Return to the platform you created and follow the walkway around. Ignore the generator for now as you need to pull some more platforms into place. You'll see two pylons on the next walkway, in between them is the next platform to pull. Now, grab the generator.
Cross the walkway and go to the right. Ignore the pylons. Keep following the right path until you reach the far side and then pull the walkway towards you again using your free hand.
Return to the pylons and loop around them both, before crossing the new walkway to reach the generator slot on the opposite side. If you look back, it'll look something like this.
Smack the generator button on the other side to turn on the power. Leave this upper area the way you entered and on the ground floor, hit the red button on the "Make A Friend" panel.
With that started, look left and pull the three levers that are glowing orange. These release toy parts onto the conveyor belt. A toy will be now created, although it only takes a couple of minutes.
Grab the toy from the end of the conveyor.
A few jumpscares ahead
Place the toy on the pad next to the door. It'll be scanned and the door will open. Walk forward into the corridor and as you approach the dark hallway, a chase will begin.
You can be killed here or during the chase, but don't worry. If you die, you'll simply respawn at the checkpoint, there are no other penalties and no achievements are voided
As soon as it does, turn around and enter the now-open passageway door at the end of the conveyor belt (where you picked up the toy).
Sprint along the linear path until you reach a junction where you can turn right (the wall will say DANGER). Follow the path until you can go left (where the wall says NO). Keep going and drop down, then keep running forward until you slide down a long, sloping conveyor belt. At the bottom, turn right (the wall says DANGER again). Keep following the path until you spot a red-lit opening on the left. You need to crouch through this opening (crouch with ).
Follow the path right, then take another right and then the door will slam in front of you. Huggy will come charging at you from the right but don't panic, the door that slammed will open before he reaches you. Keep sprinting along the conveyor until you slide down onto an open walkway. Run to the end and quickly turn around to see a yellow box above you. Use both hands to pull that down, destroying the walkway and unlocking;
With the scariest bit out of the way, follow the linear walkway until you see the path split at a junction. Directly on the floor of this junction is your final Grey VHS Tape.
Grab it and go right, where you'll find the Grey VCR at the end.
Once the tape ends, you'll unlock;
Turn around and follow the path all the way through a doorway, then a long corridor. Go past the little dollhouse and continue along the red corridor. Open the door at the end to enter a larger dollhouse with Poppy in a glass booth at the end. Open that up to start the final cutscene and end the game. As the credits roll, you'll unlock;
