Welcome to one of the first SEGA VINTAGE COLLECTION Collections... wait... yeah, that's right. It's a collection of 3 games via the SEGA VINTAGE COLLECTION. Anyways, this is just like you remember (if you played other SVC games such as the orginal Sonic games), which means save states for all of those that enjoy these life savers.


One playthrough is needed per game... well, Super Hang-On needs one. After that, you don't truly play the game all the way through.

This is a very easy game. Alex Kidd and Shinobi are the hardest here, especially Alex Kidd as it is really "what the f---ish" if this is your first time playing it.


Save often and save as much as you like. Each game has their own save slots, so no worries about filling up.


First, pick a game. Second, beat each game while following the guide for Misc. achievements.


It will all fall into place, so let us begin!

SEGA Vintage Collection: Alex Kidd & Co. - General hints and tips

  • Super Hang-On may take getting used to. Play it long enough, though, and you start to get the hang of it. Don't expect to master it each time. You'll most likely crash a few times with sharp turns when using the turbo. Practice makes perfect.

  • For Alex Kidd, I suggest you save very, very often. Here are the answers to each Bosses Janken fight:

1) Rock, Scissors

6) Rock, Scissors
7) Paper, Paper



  • Shinobi can be pretty easy with Saves and Easy Mode. In the Options menu, put the game on easy. Then, move over to Shurikens and set them to 00. While the 00 is still highlighted wait a few seconds and the 00 will merge into an infinity symbol. This game just got a lot easier.

Let's begin. First, pick a game. Then, scoll down the guide to the game you've chosen first to play.


Alex Kidd in Miracle World

In the Underwater level, you will come across an octopus on a pot. His tentacle will be swinging at you. Approach slowly and get close enough to hit his tentacle. Hit each piece one at a time until he dies. DO NOT go into the pot he was sitting on and advance forward in the stage. Eventually, you will cross another octopus. Once both octopuses are dead, the achievement unlocks.

Defeated both giant octopi in Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

Now as you progress through the fifth level, you will use a petit-copter. You must not crash into any red circles or be hit by an enemy or you will lose it. Make a save state and just beat the level untouched.

Had a snack on the Petit-Copter in Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

This one is the same as the copter: do NOT get hit while in the boat. Make a save state and finish the stage untouched.

Boat Cruise

Cleared Stage 9 while on the Suisui Boat in Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

When you make it to the final level, you have one puzzle left to solve. In the final room, step on Sun, Wave, Moon, Star, Sun, Moon, Wave, Fish, Star, Fish. You may now beat Alex Kidd and celebrate with another achievement.

Revenge of Shinobi


  • Remember to save often and never use a continue! You can lose a life, just not all of them.


First, jump into the air and throw a Shuriken.

Now, progress though the game until you reach the end-level boss of Round 1. Remember to NEVER throw a Shuriken when you Jump.

Defeated the Round 1 boss without using the 8-way Shuriken Attack in Revenge of Shinobi.

Eventually you will reach Stage 3-1. To cross over the gate, you need to jump on the pillar and hop off to be on the opposite side. When you jump on the pillar to avoid some enemies, you'll pop the next achievement.

Stood atop the brick pillar in 3-1 in Revenge of Shinobi. Ninja style!

If you were using save states, you should never have had the need for a continue. Beat the Final Boss (don't let Naoko die) for:

Super Hang-On

Start the game on Very Easy and pick the beginner course to get some practice driving. Get a feel for the game. Avoid hitting anything for a minute to earn this:

As you are playing, remember that to win a race, turbo is very handy. Use it as much as possible and for as long as possible. If you can avoid hitting anything, you will earn:
